We travel through Grand Junction several times a year from our home in Denver and decided to give…read morethis park a try. We were going to be starting a 5 week vacation to California. The day before our planned arrival, my husband was admitted to the hospital for emergency open heart surgery. I understand that parks have cancellation policies but this park already had my money for the stay, they would not be losing revenue on the site. Their policy is to keep the one night's fee and charge an ADDITIONAL $30 for short notice cancellation. I was told that if I'd have given them more notice it would not have been charged. I called them an hour after my husband was admitted. An emergency can't be foreseen 48 hours before arrival. The staff was friendly by not very understanding of the situation. No other park we have ever stayed at has this policy. Usually a cancellation fee is deducted from the deposit and the balance is refunded. I am pursuing action through my credit card company, will never stay here in the future, and plan on leaving reviews on every website I can find. Every other park I had booked for this extended trip was understanding and compassionate about my husband's emergency surgery.

Quiet except for the trains that ran just outside the park a couple of times a day, but I kinda liked that. Very close to Walmart and Safeway. Pool was closed. As far away from any of the amenities as possible. Trains running by in the middle of the night. Highway noise at all hours. No fire rings to make a fire to cook on, so had to eat out. This doesn't even come close to the raw sewage smell that came in every time someone flushed their toilets. Plus, we were charged $15 per person for this favor.

This place is exactly what you hope to find when you're passing through--good food, good people,…read moreand way more than you expect from a small roadside stop. The deli is the highlight. Everything feels homemade and actually made with care, not just thrown together. The portions are legit too--you're not leaving hungry. I've tried a few things here and it's all been solid, especially the sandwiches and breakfast options. You can tell they're using quality ingredients (real butter, fresh bread, etc.), which makes a difference. What really stands out though is the service. The people here take the time to talk to you, explain what they're making, and make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. It has that true small-town, mom-and-pop feel that's hard to find anymore. Bonus: it's also a small store, so you can grab essentials if you need something quick while traveling. If you're debating stopping here or just hitting a gas station--don't. This is one of those spots you'll remember and probably start planning future stops around.

On more than one occasion I have found him discourteous, surly and rude.
