We have used this company since we bought our house (about 2 years ago now). The pattern we have noticed is 1. They ALWAYS come late. We need to call and complain at least once every time we need gas before we get a delivery. 2. They do not follow their word. The last straw: it is now week 4 of us trying to get a refill on our propane. We are in the mountains, so we are a bit understanding. I manage a 4-unit rental property in Scotts Valley, and we've been using AmeriGas. The shared tank for all four units is medium-sized. AmeriGas consistently drove tenants away by issuing outrageously inflated bills. One former tenant received a $5,500 bill for May 2023--even though they weren't using the wall heater. Another tenant was billed $3,700 for November. To put that in perspective, a city inspector from Santa Cruz confirmed that $3,700 is way more than the annual gas cost for all four units combined, closer to the cost of two year gas usage by all 4 families. The only way to combat this scam is to get the city involved, forcing an AmeriGas employee to physically read the meter, or to spend endless hours on chat or phone calls with AmeriGas--both of which are exhausting and time-consuming. After inspection, the actual meter readings are nowhere near the thousands of dollars they claim remotely. But if you don't vigilantly monitor your bills, AmeriGas will hit you with $4,000-$5,000 per month, and they're lightning-fast to send those fraudulent bills to collections, wrecking people's credit. Bottom line: AmeriGas's remote meter readings, which inexplicably add a few zeros to your bill, are a complete SCAM. We're switching all tenants to FerrellGas this month and hoping they're not another scam like AmeriGas. If you want to destroy your credit, waste countless hours battling a dishonest gas company, or drive away good tenants, by all means--use AmeriGas. read more

one star, because I can't give 0. Amerigas has worked quite hard to make it impossible for their people to provide any customer service: Every call goes to a call center (no longer in the US). The call center employees can only work from a script ; they cannot go off script to fix odd/unusual/local problems. Promotion codes (for hundreds of dollars) will be ignored. negotiated bulk rates will not be honored. While AmeriGas has local offices, staffed with professionals, you will never be able to talk to them. schedules will be missed, notifications will never appear, the delivery driver will not get told about your dogs, or the gate. Do not use amrigas there drivers are lazy and the customer service is terrible. I have waited all day with no communication. I had to call them only to find out that my delivery was not going to be made. I still don't know when to expect my delivery. So unless you like people wasting your time and money don't call them read more

I always come here and never have problems the teller is always quick and I pick up a few things that I need like juices or trail mix for road trips to which is nice. There is 10 pumps and they're pretty close together but it works. Guess right now is about $4 a gallon which is pretty crazy compared to last year it's definitely gone up but what can you do it's close to the freeway. Plus there is also a Chevron across the street that of course always charges more so for me it's the best selection if you are on 10th Street. Overall always friendly always fast service and clean store as well. Keep it up guys. read more

Customer Service is absolutely useless. Rather than fix an issue with their database, they would rather keep you in a perpetual circle as to why they can't fix a problem they created. Case in point, Amerigas delivery drivers (all different men) came to my house to deliver propane. Hmmm... I didn't order it. Heck, I don't even have a propane tank! So I tell them every time that they have the wrong address. They show me the delivery paperwork and yes it's my address. These delivery guys all drive away shaking their heads and are unable to deliver their products. So I call the Amerigas customer service 800 number only to be told that they can't do anything about the address change. Only the customer can call and change the address. Here's we're I start spinning in circles... So I say, "if you can't help me then who can?" Fair question, right? Well they give me a number to the local delivery station who in turn states they can't help me but maybe the people at this number can help. Again another dead end. After 5 numbers/attempts at talking to different customer service agents who are useless I decide to try a different tactic. I call yet another number and tell them I want to stop any future deliveries to my house. Ahhh, that gets their attention. Now they might lose a customer so they decide to finally listen. Just to recap...all I wanted was to help their (Amerigas' drivers) get the address correct so they can make their deliveries and not be confused. I asked them to contact the customer via the number on file to see what the customers actual address was and BAM! Sorry we can't call the customer. WTH!!! At that point I was done. Those poor delivery guys will spin their wheels thanks to the incompetence of the Amerigas customer service reps!!! read more

We've been waiting six weeks for delivery. We have been customers for 12 years. We spend half the day every day on the phone begging them to come fill our empty tank. They make empty promises and hang up on us. We are trying to sign with another company but it will be a month of no propane until we can get that tank and first delivery. Never use AmeriGas. Many times they have done this to us but this is the worst. read more

This Amerigas station is only a block or two from the exit for the 152 East off the 101 South. If you heading through the Pacheco Pass on your way to or from San Francisco you're going to just miss it unless you know where it is and are specifically looking for it. I found it while heading away from San Francisco with my gas tank almost on empty. Knowing from experience there wouldn't be a cheap station directly on my route, I took a chance and headed West on East 10th Street. I was pretty excited to discover this Amerigas station on the Southwest corner of East 10th and Monterey Rd. They have very inexpensive gas, but only a very small convenience store. The big bonus star was awarded because just on the South side of the station, behind a sheltering hedge of bushes, there was a rather large grassy area which my dog thoroughly enjoyed exploring and gave her a chance to stretch her legs before we headed through the pass. read more

I just dumped Amerigas after a total of 20 years of service. I had a gas leak to my genset, and dutifully called Amerigas. Their response was to come out, disconnect my tank (I own it), and lock the tank.... which is illegal. It would have been fine if they had sent the service tech out in 48 hours as promised. BUT...after numerous phone calls and emails, two weeks went by. No propane means no hot water, no cooking gas, and no back up power for when PGE turns off the grid. The genset propane circuit I had made safe by shutting the supply valve off and told them that. But as they put the lock on the tank I could not remedy the situation. After 2 weeks of calling and emailing, I'm done with them. I changed providers, who came out 48 hours after first contact, took off the lock, fixed the leak, and inspected the system. I would strongly urge everyone to drop Amerigas and go with a local provider in your community. If I there was someone other than the BBB (like a state regulator) to complain to, I'd be first in a very long long line of people who Amerigas has provided the worse service imaginable to. read more

Not a year goes by that we don't sit in the cold waiting for Amerigas to deliver, only to have them say "stay home it's coming" for 3, 5, or even 7 days. Half our neighborhood is totally f'd right now with no propane. Customer support knows nothing, Autofill is an epic fail. I would advise anyone considering AmeriGas to go WELL out of their way to find any other service. read more
