There are all kinds of details that I could go into on this review, but let's just suffice it to say that they now have a customer for LIFE! Thank you gentlemen!

I have a diy campervan that I was trying to get ready for a road trip from Nashville to New England and everywhere in between. I brought it to Marks Auto repair in Mt Juliet mechanic (same one for 17 years) to get routine service and a new steering gear box. I was told that my van was not fit to do a 3000 mile trip and instead of camping, I should just get hotels. I was charged $397.00 for them to give me driver error codes (P1207) and tell me not only did my gear box need replaced, but my transmission was gone, my entire ABS system needed replacement and my engine could seize up and leave me stranded. Mark Jr. told me they didn't even want to repair it because it would be a lot of work and not worth the money for an older (2004 Ford e150) vehicle. I was devastated! I had this trip planned for almost a year and only had a month to get a repair and routine service. I pulled the carfax and the records were spotless and precise (except for the entries that Marks Auto repair put in). I bought this van as a state vehicle in AZ and knew it had immaculate maintenance and service records. I knew the transmission just needed a drain and fill, new oil, and an all around check on tires etc... I took it to a trusted friend for a solid 2nd opinion and the gearbox was gone (I knew that) but friend said Transmission probably just needed a drain and fill, and that it would be fine. The Ford econolines were made to outlast. Some having 300-400k miles on them. Mine had 160k. Strange thing was, when I popped the hood to see if they had changed/filled any fluid (since I paid almost $400) there were no signs of ANYONE there. No finger prints, no swipe marks from someone leaning over the engine, nothing! There was the same dirt with no disruptions as there was 4 months prior when I put a new battery in myself! They had my van for almost two weeks and only gave me useless Marta codes that were from raving the engine while in park (rpm vs torque error). The ABS codes or light hasn't come on except on rare occasion, but Mark jr made it seem as if I was going to lose my brakes completely and have a tragic and sudden loss of control. Scary and dramatic! Long story, but this is not the first time Marks has been less than helpful and actually defeated the purpose of even bringing my vehicle into them on other occasions. For example, I had an oil leak in an '07 Mustang that had leaked onto my garage floor and they told me to just watch the fluid level, it didn't need to be fixed!? What? So for years, I had to put a pad under my car because I just trusted what they said. Now I know better. Now I know there are other mechanics who want to do the work, gain trust and don't swindle or use scare tactics to get you off the lot. I brought my van into Marshall Automotive repair in Hermitage, they listened and tested the all the things. They replaced the steering gearbox got it aligned, changed my fluids, looked over all the other systems and gave me a thumbs up for the trip. It was a long, difficult journey and I did it solo. To be honest, there were some scary thoughts in my head thinking "what if Mark Jr. was right?" Completely paranoid at times and questioning everything made it difficult to truly enjoy my vacation to the fullest, but I had to trust my gut and my gut said Marks Auto repair was wrong. And they were! So, here we are.... $400 in the hole for absolutely nothing and 3000k miles later... whatcha gonna do Mark's?

I needed a repair at beginning of last year and they told me I needed my engine replaced. Knowing that wasn't true, I asked what that would cost and they quoted $9k for a used engine. When I declined the work, one of the mechanics offered to buy my vehicle off of me for $500. I instead replaced the Balance Shaft Assembly for $2,500 and still drive it to this day. After a few months, against my better judgment, I decided I would only let them do my oil changes. I work remote and put on a lot of miles on my work vehicle. With this I use my washer fluid almost daily. On my last oil change, I was told I had a leak in my washer fluid container in my 2020 Avalon and it would be a $500 for just a diagnosis on why it is leaking. I told them I use it everyday and I have not had a leak in it because there is always fluid and I have never had fluid under my car. When I walked to my car, the fluid was steadily dripping out of the corner of my bumper. I asked to speak with the manager Justin and he had left for the day. This was on a Friday. I told the guys at the counter it was not brought in with a leak and maybe their tech overfilled it, but if it continues to drip I have a major issue with it. They told me they would have their manager reach out Monday to check on me. The dripping stopped a couple hours later and I thought nothing else about it. Monday rolled around and the manager never reached out and I have not heard from this shop since. Now, it's time for my next oil change and I called to schedule and they tell me they will no longer service any my vehicles. LOL If you want to get scammed when your cars need repairs and treated like you're an idiot when you question why their estimates don't add up, this is the place to go. Thank you Mike's Automotive for discontinuing our business together. I'm sorry I don't fit your business model where you take advantage of your customers and get away with it.
