The weather suddenly became so windy that could not exit car to see badlands. I phoned the hotel in the morning to say we cannot stay and charge me a cancellation fee. She refused. I stayed there one night and the hotel was very disappointing. I heard noise from the upstairs guests since there were no carpets on the floor and the rooms were not maintained well. The front desk personnel was very nice but should have advised me the ground floor room may be noisy. There were other available upstairs rooms I would have slept in had I known. The breakfast was decent for a discount motel. Fresh fruit was good. The price off -season was over $100.00 and the entire experience was one I will not repeat. read more

Not my favorite place the stay, the lady at the front desk was really rude and not nice at all, they seemed like they were really busy so it could be that she was just having a really hectic day unsure, either way she gave me and my dad a very hard time trying to book a room, the photos online look nice because they tried to redo some of the place with wood it makes the rooms look nice but there is no breakfast here and the pool was inoperable. Probably won't be staying here again. The parking lot was lined with characters but hey just a place to sleep for $200. Too pricy for the condition of the place for me. read more

Stayed here passing through to check out badlands. Front desk was friendly and room was clean. Bathroom was in poor shape, as if it hadn't been maintained too well. Shower Curtain was moldy. But in a pinch, it was perfect. No nastiness and the area was quiet all night. It's just nothing fancy. Pretty overpriced like all the other hotels in the area due to location. Only down side was the mosquitoes outside. They were ambushing us!! Ouch! But we survived :). I recommend this place for a simple, clean, and comfortable place to crash. read more

The staff was rude, didn't want to do their damn job, didn't have a clean room, the air conditioner was so damn dirty it was fucking black and very dusty. Our feet turn black from the carpets, under the hide-a-bed wasn't cleaned in months or maybe years, and the room was caked in thick dust. the bathroom wasn't cleaned in a long time and I have videos. As a retired housekeeper for over 20+ years this is NOT how you fucking take care of a hotel. This place only shows you the good pictures of the other part of the hotel that is where you check-in. The pool was so fucking ice cold and when they see it's a heated pool it actually isn't. They do not do complementary hot food They will send you to a restaurant that is downtown for you anything with their hot food and all they do is ONLY cold foods. What kind of place are they fucking running here. And then they say they accept pets but I almost got fucking charged for my service dog when the ADA Law states they are free to access anywhere I go with no questions asked. It's been 20 years since I've stayed at 2-3 star lodging or hostel. Our stay at ABV Inn at Wall was a pleasant surprise. It is located near the interstate and Wall Drug store. It's actually walking distance to Main Street and a coffee trailer. The service was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and welcoming. It had raw shiplap on the walls. The bed was soft. The pillows are great for bigger people but to high for smaller frames. We had a large smart TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Breakfast is included. The shower had two heads which was nice after a strenuous day of activities. I would recommend this place and specifically the building we stayed in. read more

It's not much and the pricing is sketchy (absolutely do NOT walk in to schedule here, always do it online. You'll pay twice as much if you register at the front desk instead.) It's CLEAN and that's my number one need for a hotel. The bathroom in the room we had was REALLY small so if you're a very large person you'll have a tight fit. The beds were comfortable. It was cheap. It was in the right location. It had wifi. Those are the good things I have to say about this hotel. Did it come out of a 1978 catalog? For sure. Was the decor old & the bed a little old too? Yep. But it was cheap and it had wifi. There were no bugs or any other terrible things you might find at a terrible hotel. It was not a terrible hotel. It was cheap. Breakfast was pretty good and I'll actually say the BEST coffee I've ever had was the breakfast coffee at this hotel. Go down the street and get a donut on your way to the badlands. You're not doing very well to impress us. The front clerk coded the wrong date for our key cards, the carpets are filthy and dusty, the WiFi is spotty and the hot water takes forever to come through for the shower. You make a big deal about fines for smoking yet our room smells like smoke. We had to have our keys recoded three times since the initial check-in. read more

Where do I begin? A friend had reserved 2 rooms one for each of us for two nights at this place. 3 days before we were going to leave, he cancelled the second night with hotels.com, and was told to call this establishment directly. When he did, the lady who took the call verified that the second night was cancelled; we only had one night stay. When we arrived, the situation was different. The manager insisted that we did not cancel correctly and an uncomfortable confrontation occurred. When the hotel clerk interrupted the manager, the manager then begin to berate his employee in front of us. After the manager called the female employee that cancelled our second night and verified we were not lying, he then hung up on her. The way he talked down to his staff in front of customers was very embarrassing and cringe worthy. What is he like when the customers aren't there to witness his behavior? The cancellation issue got cleared up, and we both went to our separate rooms. My bathroom was filthy. I've uploaded a picture of the stool. There is vomit or fecal matter streaming down the side of the stool and the bathtub. The bed was comfortable, but the people above me made noise all night. When I fell asleep, the sleep was good. There is no sound proofing and you could easily hear people talking through walls and floors. The morning free breakfast was adequate and tasted fine. I went back to my room to try and get some more sleep, and at 8:45 a.m. someone was pounding on my door waking me up. It was maid service. (There was no "do not disturb" signs to put out) and they went away. An hour later, while I was asleep, without even a knock my door flung open. There standing in the doorway was a hotel employee and then he slammed the door shut and walked away without so much of an apology. I had had enough. It was time to leave. I got dressed, and my friend in the other building of this hotel called me and he was ready to go as well. I couldn't wait to share my bad experience with him, and then found out he had the exact same experience. Even though he had a do not disturb sign out, the maid knocked on his door and woke him up at 830 a_m. 830 a_m! Within an hour of that, while he was sleeping, an employee opened his door into his room as well without knocking. So there you go. If you like sitting in a soiled bathroom, tossing and turning to noisy neighbors, having your privacy violated by motel staff, or confrontations with a motel manager who could care less about customer service, then by all means stay here. You can have my room because I won't be coming back ever again. read more

Wild Bill greeted us when we arrived late. Made us feel welcome and like we were family! Our hotel room was equipped with a fridge and microwave. Everything was clean and in good repair. Bathroom was small with a toilet and open shower with rainfall type shower head and the tiling was new and attractive. The toilet got wet when you turned on the shower but not such a big deal. The floors were a wood laminate which feels cleaner than carpeting and great if you have allergies. They were welcoming to our well-behaved dogs If you bring pets, please be responsible and don't mess it up for the rest of us. Clean up your pet waste and don't leave your pets alone in the rooms, thank you! Free breakfast with all you needed to hit the road happy. I'd stay here again! Price was great for the value. For $134 for the night I expected to have a room that looked finished not have the microwave sitting on top of the the mini fridge on the floor or hang our clothes on a corner rack instead of a closet, an entertainment center instead of shelf and carpet instead of vinyl granted decent vinyl. We felt gouged and did try to get our money back to go to the Best Western instead but the front desk guy told us we were out of luck! We had a long very rainy chilly day driving and just wanted to tuck in to a cozy room! It was very cold and it took the wall unit a couple of hrs to warm up the room! Very Unsatisfactory needless to say and we won't ever stay there again. read more

Room and decor was nicer than expected to be honest and we appreciated the free drink voucher at the restaurant downtown. Bill was friendly and check in was easy. The bed my daughter was to sleep in had a bed bug crawling on it. We swept the bug from the bed and placed into a ziplock bag. We checked the seams of the mattress and there were black marks (bed bugs). We called Wild Bill and he came to the room and denied the bug looked like a bed bug. Wild Bill said they normally take care of getting rid of those chemically. This comment was concerning to us. If this is something they normally have to take care of, we are not interested in staying at a place that may be infested. We asked for a refund and Wild Bill said to take it up with Booking.com We left the property and checked in to the Best Western across the street. We called Booking.com and they said they need to get a hold of the front desk to have the refund authorized. Customer Service was not getting through so we had to go back across the street and ask Wild Bill to authorize the refund. He was with a customer and told us he was not getting any calls. We verified the number and the rep from Booking.com said that was the number she was calling. A customer came in after us and Wild Bill wanted to take care of them instead of taking care of us. My husband told him that he needed to take care of us first since we were there first. My husband said to Wild Bill that if he didn't take care of us first that he would tell the customer behind us that the property had bed bugs. Wild Bill said to do it and so my husband told the customer that there were bed bugs in the rooms. Wild Bill got irrate and told us to get our (colorful choices of words) off his property and that he will not be refunding us. I called my credit card company to make sure we didn't get charged for the night's stay since we were only there for 15 minutes and come to find out not only did he charge us $148 for the night, he also charged an unauthorized charge for $381. We never stayed there and he was the most unprofessional staff we had ever had to deal with. read more

honestly it wasn't the BEST. for what we paid as a family i think it was actually pretty good. no pool because it snowed a week ago the room was clean, and the tv worked with my ps5. the one thing that's horrible is the creeking if your on the first level. you can literally hear people walk past the room above you. for a one night stay, it was warm, cozy, and above all CLEAN. the only thing it was missing was a better bathroom. amazing service, would definitely recommend if your not looking to spend a fortune :) thx! read more

Comfy bed. Nice shower with plenty of hot water and good shower head. The "balcony" they reference is just the fact that you have an outside facing room. When the mini fridge kicks on it sounds like someone is using a hot tub - next door. When the second floor guest walk it sounds like you are in a Victorian Mansion complete with original wood floors. There was a large carpet stain by the door. This is a pet friendly hotel (we travel with our pet) so someone may have just wanted them to earn their $35 extra pet fee. Not bad. Not great. read more

After seeing signs for Wall Drug all through South Dakota, we made a quick overnight stop on our drive from Rhode Island to Billings, MT. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and I was very impressed with our stay. Besides the room looking very nice and the shower being very clean, my favorite thing about the hotel was the tiny library in the lobby. The hotel had a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge which were all great to have. This is a very nice place to stay in Wall for a great price. read more

The great thing about this place is that they have 3 beds. That means our family of 4 only needs to get one room. Definitely a money saver. The linens appeared to be clean. That's essentially all the good things I could find. This place has potential, but it is executed poorly. The wood floors are filthy, so 1 minute walking around in your room in socks makes your socks black (not just dirty, but BLACK). The room includes a 'free' breakfast. I suggest eating somewhere else. Worst place alive to stay, almost was forced to pay for a service animal A SERVICE ANIMAL, the ADA law states no animal in service of any kind is to be charged or said no to being inside a store, restaurant, and type of business unless a danger to the owner or others. Hot breakfast free is posted ha free yeah right you have to go to a restaurant of their choosing and only get one item and pay for add-ons. These pictures that are being shown are not of the rest of the hotel, the pictures posted are the newly remodeled, heated pool nope wasn't heated ice cold and the water felt slimy like it hasn't been cleaned in months just like my shower water slimy. False advertisement throughout the whole stay and the front end clerk was rude to my wife and my daughter, they walked in with us having a reservation telling us they are booked, the second my wife said we have a reservation it was off from there tell my wife not to use fowl language then don't tell us we need to leave when the reservation was set up, walk around the older rooms barefoot your feet turn black from never being shampooed and the room stunk so bad of mold from the bathroom. I would never stay at this place again even if I was exhausted from driving, no way would I waste my money again here for a second time. I had high hopes for this motel when we read the online description and booked a reservation. Upon our arrival the lobby was neat and clean but the person at the counter wasn't well-informed about the room and amenities. When we got to our room it was meh-okay. Then we started discovering things. Holes in the drapes. Mold on the inside of the bathroom door and door frame. The "newly remodeled" bathroom had a shower head hanging from the ceiling and a drain in the center of the floor--which wouldn't have been bad at all if there had been a shower curtain to separate the shower from the toilet area. Once the first person took a shower the entire floor was wet and slippery. There was no place to put your clothes or even a towel to keep them dry. There was no place for anyone to change clothes privately as the sink was in the main area with the beds and there was no privacy wall. The newly installed wood laminate flooring was unsupported and sagging at the entrance to the shower/toilet room. When I asked at the front desk the woman told me that we were in a newly remodeled room and we had no other options with two queen beds. There was no place to sit other than on one of the beds. The top cover on the bed was a white sheet. The free breakfast the next day was a pleasant surprise. Pancakes, four cereal choices, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, three or four juices, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages, and do-it-yourself pancakes. Also the front desk person--who also took care of the breakfast--at check out was very nice and efficient. read more

If this is America's Best then our country is in serious trouble. For $260 a night, I got a room that was obviously not cleaned. The beds were made, however when we pulled the sheets back, there was hair and brown stains on the sheets. Totally disgusting. The bathroom toilet paper roll was empty and the toilet seat and ring were standing up like someone had just used it. Went to night manager and she gave us a clean set of sheets and we made the bed ourselves. Then at 4:00 am our neighbor above starts pounding on the floor. It sounded like they were dancing and the floor sounds like just a piece of plywood over your head with no insulation. The next morning after a very restless night, I went to the manager who explained to me that she "wasn't authorized to do anything until the co-owner comes in". I left my number and am hoping for a call and a credit. Absolutely disgusting. Please go elsewhere! Anywhere! In the midst of a pandemic, the thought of them not fully cleaning hotel rooms is not only nasty, it is probably a violation of public health laws and should be reported. read more

We stopped at this hotel to get a good night's sleep after having been on The road for 4 days and to see The badlands. The people at the front desk were super friendly and let us check in early. There was a cute little dog our dog fell in love with at the reception. They gave us free drink coupons for a nearby bar and grill. The room was very clean and big. There was also a small pool which was super nice in The heat. The only thing they didnt have was a safe in the room. Over all this was a great value for what we paid. read more

Okay, I realize I am in Wall South Dakota and there really isn't much here. But this motel was okay but what really hurts this place is the price that is charged. For $217 a night for a two queen bed room is insane. The rom it's self is like living in your garage with a microwave and mini fridge in the corner an wires all over the wall by the tv and "fireplace" it really was a poor execution for the look of the room. The room I stayed in was 207 and there were two buried our lights over the bed and it was loud. I was awakened several times in the night with noises coming from the outside through the paper thin walls and people walking down the hall. The breakfast area was dirty and was out of food, I am a vegetarian and there are vegans in my family and there was no bread nothing to eat just soggy eggs generic cereal and a make your own pancakes machine no thank you....also the reception area has WAY to may "air freshening" candles and perfumes it reeked through the entire place. Please take these out its way to strong. The beds were okay and the room was acceptably clean not exceptional though. Again remember the price? I could have driven for another 45 min and arrived in Rapid City and stayed at a Cambria in with a larger suite room and way better amenities. This place is acceptable at $85 a night NOT $217! So where do I begin? Im traveling with my wife back to Wyoming, from PA, and we thought this would be a great place to stay due to the awesome reviews on trip advisor but we couldn't be any more wrong. Don't be fooled by the photos they advertise on booking websites, its not even close. For one, the front desk staff were rude after they messed up our reservation, we asked for a single queen bedroom suite which was also confirmed via our conformation email and were given two double beds, which when I asked about the mistake I was told " You get what you get" and then they just stared at me... Well then. So, we are in our room and there are bed spiders on our pillows, the fridge stinks, the tub has rust, and I can hear the rooms below and next door and all of their conversations. Good luck having and privacy here. The pool is great too if you enjoy pools without any water. Honestly,I would rate this place zero if I could, the only value you get is the money. You most certainly get what you pay for here. Steer clear, you can find better for the same price. read more

Inexpensive, friendly, convenient and clean. I reserved a room here specifically because it was pet friendly and close to the Badlands loop. Check in with one of the owners might as well have been me visiting with an old neighbor, he was so friendly and funny. He apologized that he didn't have an "upgraded room," so I was bracing for something that wasn't in the pictures from when I booked online. Turns out the room was exactly as pictured. Bed was comfy, fluffy pillows and pretty good sheets. Everything was clean and perfectly comfortable. Plus there was a GIANT flatscreen TV. Literal 3 minute drive to Wall Drugs, 10 minute drive to Badlands entrance, and super easy access to 90. Would definitely stay again. read more

I recently drove across the United States. I drove for approximately 12 hours and decided to spend a night in South Dakota. All I can say about this motel is that it is a perfect place for you to spend a night when driving across several states. The location is quiet, they the prices are fair, and as far rest stop locations go, I am not sure what more one could want. There are a few gas stations close by as well as a dog rest area and places to eat. With all due respect to the people of Wall, I am not sure many people drive to South Dakota. However, if you happen to be driving through the area, this is a great option to catch a few hours of sleep between states. read more

My mother checked us in and was treated very kindly by the man at the front desk. He was friendly, helpful, and informational. The check-in went really quickly and we were on our way. There are no elevators, which is tough on my mom with bad knees. No ground floor units were available. When we got inside we realized just how run down it was. The room was dark-ish, the floor creaked, and we generally weren't comfortable. The bathroom had only about a quarter roll of toilet paper left and no other rolls in sight. This wasn't realized until too late for us to care about doing anything about it. None of us slept well. People were very noisy outside in the morning. The lights shone through either side of the curtains all night. We were generally just happy to leave. read more
