You know how when someone has a great experience with a physical therapist, they can't wait to talk…read moreabout how much the person helped get them back to their healthier, more able-bodied self? Well, this is NOT going to be one of those times. This place is a borderline disaster. In 10 appointments, I saw FIVE different therapists. There was minimal communication between any of them, and I did different exercises each time-all of which seemed to be what the therapist du jour felt like having me do. So zero consistency, not to mention the main therapist who runs this center is rude and judgmental-just so quick to turn her nose up at you. In fact, after overhearing that I am a snowboarder, she walked across the room and butted in just to say how horrible it is to be on the mountain with snowboarders. I responded by letting her know how many times I've picked up and carried the flailing skis & poles left behind by her kind, but I digress.... Anyway, I ONLY went here because it was a worker's comp and they didn't give me a choice. I had multiple injuries, and actually had to tell them to give up on one just to focus on the other two because they clearly couldn't get their act together. It was very frustrating to get reevaluated during my last week there, and have them look at me cross-eyed and sideways when the results showed that I hadn't made any progress...as if they just couldn't imagine why. So for injuries that, while fairly serious, really could've been addressed by physical therapy, I now need surgery because it's been too long without progress. Needless to say, I'll never go here again and NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

I came in to Kessler after looking at physical therapy places by my house, this one was 4 mins…read moreaway. Visited their website and was impressed, they have many location so it shows how successful they are. I suffered a back injury a few months prior. Woke up and could barely bend my back or move around without pain. It felt like a disc herniation. I decided to just let it heal on its own. Eventually after a week or 2, my back felt okay enough where I went back to the gym. That was a mistake, it was re-aggravated but this time I felt more pain going down my left leg. I called their office and spoke to Alex. She was very nice and helpful from the first phone call. To me, one of the first thing I look in a business is their front desk staff. It usual is a good indicator of everything else with that business. My therapist was Kelvin. He's young but it seem like he's been doing this for years. He assessed my back and leg. Worked on my imbalance hip/pelvic, had me some core strengthening exercises, and I left my first visit feeling good. With my condition, we knew it take time to fully resolve my back/leg pain. Kelvin always gave you his honest opinion anytime you ask him something. Another thing about his style is that he wants you to be independent, he will call you out if he sees you "cheating" on your exercises. It's all about proper form and doing it a slow pace so you can feel each stretch/contraction. My PT was only a month due to my insurance. In that month, my core feels stronger, the pain has decreased, and my attention to posture has become a larger focus when I sit or stand too long. The equipment and facility itself is also very new and always look clean. To sum it up, I enjoyed my time getting PT at Kessler, the staff was friendly and my PT did an amazing job on my back/leg.

I have been going to Advanced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation since the location in Edison…read moreopened up. Dr. Reizis and his team are the friendliest and most professional group I have been around. I have been going twice a week for pain in both my knees. They provide a relaxing environment founded on knowledge and experience. I live a very active lifestyle teaching Physical Education and Health for grades 6th thru 12th, and also go to the gym every day. Dr. Reizis helped me make modifications to my daily routine which still allows me to be active while healing. They help you get to your destination helping you each step along the way. The staff shows their passion in their work. I also have to add that I have not waited once since I started treatment in a waiting room. The doctors and staff are always on time. A major plus for me! Along with my physical therapy I have been going for acupuncture at Advanced PMR. I was very skeptical at first due to my fear of needles. Facing this fear has been the best thing I have done for my overall wellness. Joshua Solomon is an acupuncture encyclopedia full of knowledge and the education he gives empowers those who are ready to take control of their health and wellness. He is calming and a breathe of fresh air that has helped me through my healing process. They have been successful in helping me recover and build strength to prevent further injury. I highly recommend you give them a chance to help you with your next challenge, whether it is recovering from an injury or building up your fitness level. There are two people from my school that have also gone to Advanced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and they were more than happy with their results. Give them an opportunity and I believe that will be enough for you to make your own decision. Thank you again to the staff at Advanced PMR ~Brittany
