We arrived about 7:30pm on a Friday evening. Parking was easy in a nearby lot and we could hear what sounded like live music as we walked toward the building. Sure enough, lucky for us, a live duo was playing on a small stage in front of the outdoor seating. "Sweet Talkin' Johnny" began singing songs from Tom Petty and we knew we wanted to sit and listen for a while. The interior is decorated with fun pictures throughout, which we loved. The portrait of Kramer from Seinfeld was perfect. My wife also reported the women's room has the famous picture of a naked Burt Reynolds from the Cosmopolitan magazine circa 1972. The men's room has the vintage classic poster of Farrah Fawcett and artwork of a dude on a toilet. We did not ask much about their variety of beers after finding the "Big Ass Umbrella" IPA, but we believe they have 16 taps, which, we think include both a variety of their own beers as well as other hard beverages such as seltzers and ciders. They also have a cooler full of assorted 4/6 packs which can be purchased. Tonight we were fortunate enough they had a food truck/trailer serving Nashville Hot Chicken in addition to the live music. Steve and I shared the Imposter which was a Golden Stout. This is a type of stout that we don't encounter often but whenever we do and have one it's usually quite good. There was no exception to that here as this was an enjoyable one. Flavor features with this beer are coffee, vanilla, creamy and sweet. This stout was fairly light bodied when compared to the typical beer style which is a nice change of pace. So if you want something like a stout but without the feeling you are "eating" your beer this is a good one to try out.

It's not in my usual neighborhood hangout but easy to get to and in a good area by the university. Plenty of parking in the lot and they had a tamale food truck on site when I arrived. I ordered a soft drink from the bar and sat at a high top. It's a large open space inside and they have a good amount of patio seating too. There was a chess club going on and then later in the evening they hosted music bingo, so they definitely have a good lineup of regular activities going on. The bee was fun, a little short, but it's always interesting to learn new words, meet new people etc. I ordered some birria tacos from the food truck and enjoyed those. And the panini was delicious loaded with loads of meat. They were really nice and made a special virgin pink lemonade for our little one. Pity Im only here to visit. Instead, we're treated very rudely for having a baby there. Meanwhile other families were having their kids run around the parking lot and throw chairs. Our food that we paid for wound up being thrown out and no one compensated us for it. There are only two gender neutral bathrooms, which is not enough during events.
