Took mom here for a quick little early breakfast before she goes off to the casino!! Food was great! Huge portions! Service was perfect! Staff very friendly and attentive!

When I first walked into this restaurant, I was greeted so kindly and with such genuine enthusiasm. I was invited to sit wherever I liked, and from that moment on, the service was exceptional. My waitress, Diana, was truly outstanding attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. She even substituted a mimosa for regular orange juice so I could still enjoy the cotton candy garnish on top "candy cloud", such a thoughtful touch! The restaurant itself is absolutely adorable, decorated with a fun, nostalgic diner vibe. I loved the classic booths, the counter stools, and all the charming photos on the walls. Diana mentioned the decorations in the other room, so of course I had to check them out and take some pictures! Everything was just too cute not to! Now, let's talk about the food! I ordered the tres leches specialty waffle with two pieces of bacon, two pieces of sausage, and two over-medium eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The waffle was so flavorful it didn't even need syrup, and the coffee was excellent, smooth, rich, and never bitter. Diana kept my cup full without me even having to ask. She truly seems to love what she does, and it shows in the way she treats her guests. I'm so happy I had the pleasure of being served by Diana today made the entire experience that much better.

They are usually pretty busy but always get the food to you quickly. The servers are very attentive. I love the waffles from here. They have plenty of seating and they have bathrooms.

Review #940 Posted on 9.30.25 We came here to eat on Sunday the 28th in between soccer games at the Soccer complex. We got sat immediately after arriving, and got a nice corner booth. The old school diner feel to this place is awesome. It's got a diner countertop in the front of the restaurant, then a dining room area with plenty of tables, a bunch to accommodate different size groups/parties. To touch more on the old school diner feel, they've got that bubble type leather seating, a jukebox (which I think was just decorative, not real, but still cool), photos of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean everywhere, and even a place you can take photos at. The many has a nice selection, you can do breakfast or lunch. Breakfast has a 2 eggs with protein type section, omelettes, waffles, pancakes, etc. We tried a lot. Country fried steak which was good. Ham steak, Omelette, has browns, & we tried the Dubai chocolate waffle too. We'll come back for sure again when in the area for soccer.

Fast and friendly service! Enjoyed the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Platter. Eggs, sausage and bacon were all tasty. French toast was simply two smashed cinnamon rolls. Husband ordered the turkey sausage eggs Benedict. Simple but potatoes were pretty good. Might come back for a fruity pebbles waffle but that's about it.

The Omelette was perfectly cooked...

One of the BEST Omelette I've had in a very long time. Will be back for sure. The Food and the Service is Amazing. If you're in the Stockton area, go try it. You won't be disappointed.

So yummy!

Sina was amazing! Food was awesome and the customer service was even better! The environment was very inviting and fun!

Diana is the major gem at this place. Most diners offer good food and this is no exception. The flavored waffles and omelettes are worth the trip by themselves. But what distinguishes one diner from another is the staff and service. Diana is one of the best I've encountered at any diner. You would be hard-pressed to find better. I've seen her competently handle a rush that would leave another waitress panicked and overwhelmed. Another thing that helps this place is that it has a counter. For many people this can make a difference when eating by themselves. When you're by yourself, it's just pleasant. But sometimes a conversation will start with someone else at the counter. That can be a great addition to a solid meal.

One of my favorites here is the chicken & waffle. I upgrade my waffle with fruit toppings & nuts and it's really good. Another one I like is the Dubai Chocolate Waffle and the Dubai Chocolate Strawberries.

Pistachio latte

Diana was an excellent server Food was delicious, so much on the menu, had the waffles before and they were great, tried the pistachio latte today was very good, wish it was a little bigger though!

If you enjoy a great breakfast. This spot won't let you down. With a vintage diner vibe. Diana is a great server and will also help you around the menu with great recommendations. You can't go wrong!

Aaliyah greeted us as soon as we walked in and directed us towards our table. Coincidentally, she was also our server. It was like we knew her for years. Aaliyah was friendly and attentive. We started with the mimosa flights. We couldn't decide on flavors, however, Aaliyah picked a variety of flavors for us, so we were covered. The food came out hot! I had the meat lover skillet with eggs over-easy. The eggs were cooked perfect. The warm yolk added to the flavorful meat and smothered potatoes. René had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was juicy and tender. Next time we'll ask for a side of sauce because it's so good that we needed more than provided, at least for us. One thing we noticed was that every customer was happy. Maybe the other customers were regulars there but this was our first time and we were treated like we were regulars. I think it just says something about the attention to customer service. Toward the end of our visit, "B" one of Sheila's daughters, came out to check on us. Again, it was like talking to a long time friend. Well, it turns out Sheila B'Z is a family business - - everyone working was family, including those working the food truck at an event today. I love that. We will totally be back!

Always a good sign. We were quickly seated in their covered patio area. The seating was quite comfortable. The staff were prompt and attentive. I ordered the Potatoe Platter. Probably not the healthiest of choices but who can deny a heaping platter of country style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, bacon, onions, and topped with melted cheese. I mean seriously. I ordered mine with eggs and ordered the pancake instead of toast, more on that later. To say this is a hearty meal would be the understatement of the year. Try as I might, I packed over half of this delicious dish for breakfast the following day. Judge me if you must, but I measure all pancakes against the gold standard of pancakes, McDonalds. The Avenue Grill offered a solid pancake, light, fluffy with a slight snap, every bit a worthy competitor to my favorite. Before I knew it, the pancake was gone. My wife ordered the French Toast. Want we loved about the Avenue Grill is sometimes you just want good, simple food and this was the case with the French Toast. Based on a light Sourdough, the french toast had good flavor and came together nicely with the syrup. All in all, we absolutely loved Avenue Grill. It's set in a nondescript strip mall & the restaurant itself is small with outdoor seating with space heaters but we three sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait at all for a table. It's very casual yet chill ambiance. Parking is free & there is only one restroom for the entire restaurant. So plan ahead. My son & I had the Denver omelettes with sourdough toast. My wife had her usual veggie omelette with no cheese but with sourdough toast. When we were served our breakfast our faces lit up literally bc of the massive amount of food. And that's an understatement! We ended up with boxes to go bc there was so much food on our plate. Crazy amount! You can be sure we would return! Can't wait!

HOMESTYLE DINER, WITH WILDERNESS THEME…read more This shop feels like Black Bear Diner, with a similar menu and the same woodsy, cabin theme. I tried the pecan pumpkin pancake combo. At $19.49, it's about the same price as similar diners in the area. The meal is exactly as you'd expect for a diner--large carbs, but minimal protein. Pancakes delivered on the pumpkin spice as promised. They were fluffy, but not the fluffiest. Pork sausage was better than expected. I'm used to tasting frozen, tasteless pork at other diners. But this one was herby and juicy.

Our waitress brought menus and took drink orders once my guests arrived. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but I had already decided I was having a chicken fried steak! It did not disappoint and it comes with two eggs any style, and choice of sides, which I had hash browns, and choice of toast. I got sliced sourdough but one of my friends got a biscuit with her corned beef hash that looked amazing! I'll definitely go that route next time! Overall, our dining experience was excellent. The service was wonderfully efficient and friendly. I'm a fan for sure!

The place is narrow, with a long counter running down the length of it and additional seating tucked away in the back. Grab a seat at the counter and the grill is literally right on the other side, so you get a front-row seat to the action while your breakfast is being made. And honestly, the entertainment is half the experience. The cooks and wait staff are constantly joking, talking, and giving each other a hard time. Their friendly banter is so natural that I found myself wondering if this was a family-run business. Whether it is or not, they definitely have that kind of chemistry. They also seemed to know just about every regular who walked through the door. Between the conversations, laughter, open grill, and familiar faces, I couldn't help thinking I'd somehow wandered onto an episode of Cheers, only instead of sitting at the bar with a beer, I was at the counter with coffee and a seriously impressive breakfast. I ordered The Moose Omelet, and apparently the moose isn't just there for decoration. This thing is a beast. Four eggs packed with crisp bacon, linguica, sausage, ham, green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and thin-sliced potatoes that reminded me of scalloped potatoes, all folded into the omelet and blanketed with melted cheddar cheese. Their homemade pico was delicious and went perfectly with the omelet. What I liked most about The Mangy Moose is that it doesn't feel manufactured or overly polished. It's a real neighborhood diner with character, generous food, friendly people, and the kind of atmosphere that's becoming harder and harder to find. I may have walked in as the new guy, but it definitely feels like the kind of place where, after a few visits, everybody really would know your name. I'll be back. Five stars.
