If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We only came here because we're visiting, and unfortunately Matthew P. was our server. The fact that it made it out the door like that says a lot about the kitchen. For the main meal I had the tap house burger and my wife had the fish tacos. Burger and fries are both just pre-frozen not freshly made. The waitress also doesn't ask how you want it prepared (medium rare, etc)... so who knows how cooked it will be. They don't dress the burgers so you have the condiments that have been sitting on the table all day (one of which is mayonnaise). My wife said the fish tacos were pretty awful as well. The guacamole on them was bad, the fish was oily, didn't taste very fresh, and was overcooked. Clearly just a money grab with junk quality food. We were a family of 16 that was seated right away because there was no one in there, so we were a little bit worried. However, the place filled up quickly and we had nothing to worry about. The service was fast and friendly. The food was also really good. I didn't give 5 stars because I feel like they could've done a little better with the food preparation and plating. For example, my Caesar Salad didn't come how it's typically served with dressing on it because they put it in a container on the side. Another positive is that the kitchen is open fairly late, which believe it or not, can be a problem in Myrtle Beach, especially during the offseason. American Tap House has decent to good "bar food". Most of the appetizers are fine, just don't order the chips and salsa. You could get the same quality at Dollar General and save a lot of money. Don't come here if you're looking for a great meal. Bun should have been buttered and grilled, chicken in wrap should have been tenders (not diced) and warm, bacon should have been whole pieces and warm, burger should have been an actual (not frozen kind) burger and been grilled with some char for flavor. I'm starting to feel like not one restaurant at broadway is good. Food is barely food. The staff however were so nice and accommodating. They were the best part. The ambiance was fine too, with tons of TVs to look at. But the food, sadness. I asked for my burger medium, it was a little more than rare. My mother in law said it was the worst Philly cheesesteak she's ever had. Fish tacos were mid, cold tortilla. Fish and chips? More like chips and chips. All of the fries were barely warm. The tacos were a little over seasoned for my liking and the "Spanish" rice had more colour than flavour but overall the food was perfectly acceptable for $18. However, when the bill came there was a 3.15% CC Surcharge added, which I disputed with the Manager who said they had been charging that for a year. I googled and found 2013/14 Bill 3477 Section 39-1-100. (A) No seller in any sales, service, or lease transaction with a consumer may impose a surcharge on a cardholder who elects to use a credit card in lieu of payment by cash, check, or similar means. We decided to try this place for the beer and outdoor seating. They are so few places in the area doing outdoor seating. Unfortunately, what a bad decision. The food tasted microwaved, And nothing was fresh. I feel they should've paid me for the experience. The salsa came out of the generic jar from the store. The french fries were greasy and congealed. The three hamburgers were rubbery and the wings came with no sauces which had previously been ordered. And like most restaurants, There is no wait staff to bring you those sauces before your food is stone cold and 20 min have passed. This place and it's next door neighbor, Roosters, share the same menu, which absolutely floors me, that they are pulling off this at multiple locations. The service was even worse than the food. We never received a refill the entire time, the waitress didn't even bring the food to the table, so they had runners do this task which adds to confusion and delivery of incorrect orders, and when we finally got our waitresses attention to leave, she took forever with our checks, which gets me paranoid that they are doing something nefarious.
