We stopped in to Econo Car in Eatontown on May 14th and agreed upon the rental of a full sized Yukon XL which we had inspected and agreed upon. After providing our credit card information and being presented with a reservation confirmation for the guaranteed dates of June 11th, 12th and 13th (almost a full month from the time we reserved the vehicle), we were happy to have the vehicle squared away. Fast forward to June 6th. We received a call from David Anderson, the manager. He explained that due to 2 new customers requesting their only 2 similar vehicles for longer periods of time, they were forced to put the financial interest of the business ahead of my family and our engagement. He explained that more money was to be made by the rentals made by the other parties. In an attempt to resolve the situation, Mr Anderson offered us a minivan which was not even considerable for the event we had planned. After explaining to him that it was an unacceptable business practice and notifying him that we would be putting their business on notice with the BBB, Mr Anderson then threatened to mail me a letter of an origin unknown after he received notification from the BBB. Recently, I came across another individual who I engaged in discussion who had a very similar experience with this company. We both agreed that this business is one to avoid and I write this as a caveat.

I cannot speak highly enough of this storage facility. I had to scramble at the last minute to…read morefind a unit the same day and Maurice was extremely helpful and accommodating. When I arrived at the facility it was closed but I had no problem accessing my storage unit. It could not possibly have been any easier to load my items (backed the UHaul right up to a garage, loaded everything onto the provided carts, fit all of my belongings in the elevator in one trip, and easily loaded into the storage room). This place is great! My only concern is that renters can access the facility after hours, so the security of my belongings is dependent on trusting the other renters. If someone else comes in after hours and doesn't properly lock up (doesn't lock the garage, for instance), the security of everyone's belongings is compromised. I wish there was a way to address this because it is a bit concerning (perhaps auto-locking garages that close and lock after a set amount of time?). Aside from that, everything was great! Highly recommended!
