It's not a grocery store so wait times can be long. But food is expensive and some of us don't have a large budget and it's great. The volunteers are so helpful with assisting customers so it doesn't feel like you have to pay a lot for food to get great service and groceries. Kudos to everyone who donates or volunteers.

The Bellingham Food Bank ("Feeding our community since 1972") has helped me out more times than I…read morecan count. When you're unemployed, broke, and the food stamps have run out, this is the place to turn to. Bring a postmarked piece of mail to show you are a Bellingham resident, and it's best to bring a few empty grocery bags as well, because they tend to run out of boxes. Be prepared to wait in line an hour or more. They are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:30-3:00 and Wednesday 5:00-7:00. Fridays towards the end of the month are always busiest. If you come earlier in the day, the line is longer, but the selection is better, too. Later, on towards 3 o'clock, the line is shorter, but the selection of food is less. Lots of grocery stores in Bellingham (Haggen, Trader Joe's, Price Chopper) donate their just-expired or just-about-to-expire bread, pastries and such to the Food Bank. A thousand praises on the volunteers and staff who keep this place running!

I can tell that at the end of the day, she is happy and well taken care of. All the staff know my daughters name and make a effort to say hi to her each time they see her (She is friendly with all staff and enjoys their company). My daughter is now is the preschool program with them and has learned SO much in the last few months that she made the transition. It has been just a joy watching her learn and explore new things. If there are any issues they have always been address right away and I've always felt heard, which I think its very important in a child care center.

Every time we drive by, they point it out and share a memory they have. It is really sweet to listen to their conversation! First, they were super accommodating when we needed part-time during the day. My oldest went to another pre-school in the morning and then Child's life in the afternoon. He came at nap time but they were great greeting him and then, giving him a space to transition. It was really great to have this smooth transition because we did it on a lunch break. My youngest is my shy one and had always had a hard time leaving me but when we arrived each morning, they always said his name and gave him a variety of choices. I honestly felt like they cared! The staff was great! If asked, they shared my boy's day and I always received art work to take home, which is fun to see when you are away from your babies all day! Also, I am a teacher myself so I think I automatically wanted to connect with the staff and they appreciated it. Elaine, the director, was always thinking of ways to improve the preschool and reaching out for resources. This was amazing because it showed she truly cared about the kids. I guess I am writing this review because A Child's Life has a special place in our family's heart. My boys are still in contact with friends they made and when we see a past teacher out and about, they come talk to us. Thank you A Child's life!

If I needed to get anything, they would contact me in a timely manner. The menu was always great. I felt like I should bring the monthly list home and use it as a guide for meals. I would yap with them while I was resting between sets but would try and keep it short to be able to finish using the machine. Someone comes up to me and says something along the lines of are you using this machine while i was getting up to switch with my friend. I said yes I have one more set and my friend is just starting. They tell us to stop talking so much and hurry up, we say sorry and let him use the machine to avoid any trouble. They walks away and another person goes up to them and says I glad you said something they are taking too long. On another occasion, someone was rushing us off machines by standing and watching us workout. It was very awkward and I will not be going back!
