Pulled this company from Angi, so assumed they would be a solid experience (my fault for assuming). Before the fence staining job began, I made it clear that my siding had just been installed, and I wanted every precaution taken to ensure no stain was splattered on my house. After confirming the crew would take the proper measures, I walked the job to find stain sprayed all over both sides of my house (front and back), as well as some areas where they clearly attempted to clean the splatters off with paint thinner or something, which completely removed the coloring from my new siding. After sending photos to the owner in an attempt to have them resolve the issue, he eventually told me it wasn't them that did it, and maybe someone in my house did?!?! Complete clown show of a response. Lack of professionalism, integrity, and overall job awareness from this crew. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Let's just say, they got the job done. Not efficiently or completely to my satisfaction. Definitely not worth the money they charged. $6500 for some replacement boards, hand rails and two new pillars. They redid my deck. Mostly supportive boards were replaced. I had 2 out of 3 Pilar's replaced on my deck and they added cement in the ground. I had no issues there. They also replaced floor boards, hand rails and added fascia on the outside of the deck. I was about 60% please with the finalized and finished product. First off, it took them 1 month to fully finish and clean up materials. We had a strict timeline to get it done because of a party we were having. They did finish the deck in time, however the cleanup was still sitting in our back yard outside of the fence on the day of the party and it looked terrible. It almost took them another week to clean up the old material off the deck. We would get texts from this company saying they'll be out at our job at a certain time such as 7-7:30am and I would go to work and my wife would text me at 11-11:30 saying they just showed up to start working on the deck. Then take a lunch break at 12:30 and would be gone by the time I got home from work. (3pm) This happened multiple times throughout the month they worked on the deck. Not only did they show up late to almost every day they worked, whoever was working always had an excuse to why they were late. They would also leave the job early, and not at a good stopping point. Days would pass before coming back out because they made mistakes on cuts that they did while measuring? Our railing was delayed because they built the railings in their shop instead of on site where they could actually do the measuring In person To the deck. Also, the deck railings where not straight on one part but because they put a hand rail on top it "covered it up" as he said to me. Also noticed when screwing in railing 4x4s into the deck, the wood was split on almost every post From where they screwed into the post. (Will have to replace those later on) We had brackets put in under the deck for extra support and I asked them multiple times to straighten them and make sure the boards underneath were straight and the brackets were locked in good. They never fixed those. At this point I was just tired of dealing with them and coming home from work pissed off to see things I asked for not being fixed or them not even showing up at all. Lastly, they used deck screws obviously but when screwing them in, some didn't fully go into the wood and stuck out, or they stripped them and I had to put my own deck screws in after cutting them off With an oscillating tool. Overall, they claim to do over 50 services. There is only 3 of them working for this company and most of it is painting. Would not recommend them to do your deck. Pictures posted below. read more

I had hired them for a wallpaper installation. Since the wallpaper that I chose is from the UK, printed on order, and expensive, I discussed with Grier the potential difficulties with the install. (I even sent pictures.) After he assured me that he could do it, I ordered the wallpaper. Mike arrived to do the install. After putting up the first panel, I noticed that the panel was not cut properly (he admitted to not having a proper sharp blade nor a guide) and scratched. I asked for the project to be stopped since it was apparent that he had no technique in putting up the panels. Grier offered to find someone with a higher skill set, but there was no guarantee on the time frame. Since I now had paste all over my walls and guests staying in my home in two days, Grier offered to paint my walls black, which is the color of the background of the wallpaper, in the meantime. A few days later, I was the one that had to follow up. When Grier responded, it wasn't even via a phone call, but an email stating that they were ending the job because they couldn't find anyone. Since they erroneously cut into one of the rolls, I could no longer use that one panel (it's a mural, not a repeating pattern), so I asked for a reimbursement of that one roll. He said he wouldn't do that since he already painted my walls. Mind you, one roll cost me over $300. Now my walls are black. It pains me to write such a negative review since they are in fact good people. However, they have no business doing wallpaper installations. read more

I used Angi to find a company to Power Wash the siding on a house in Burke VA. One of the companies to bid on the work was American Powerclean. They provide a quote that was more competitively priced than the other quotes I received. I called and spoke with the owner, Mr. Grier Melick. He discussed the project with me and offered me a discount to Powerwash all of the siding on the house. I agreed and accepted the quote. The work was done professionally, without me needing to be present. The crew did an Excellent job! They got all of the siding clean and they also power washed the walkways and front stoop too! I am very pleased with the work and the price, and I would recommend there services to others! read more

I am attaching photos of my deck that clearly show issues. Under old management, in the late fall 2018, I had my deck power washed,13 "pressure-treated" boards replaced by screwing them in, and then stained. Unfortunately, the company did a horrible job on the board replacement. The boards used were smaller, thinner and nailed in. Plus the stain was incomplete. When I complained, former management came back to replace, screw in and then re-stain the new boards. I left on a long vacation. This spring I discovered some of the boards are sagging and curling up, which is a hazard in walking on the deck. In addition the wood was not pressure treated, since sap was coming out due to the heat. The "new" boards are indeed smaller and thinner. Maybe old management knew they were selling the company and did not care. The new manager, Philip, came out and I showed him the problem in the spring. He said he would fix three of the worst boards, but later in the year when he was not busy. It's now fall, and when I inquired when he was coming, he then said he would only fix one board. My friend was visiting and heard his original promise to fix three boards. Frankly, I feel he should have offered to replace all 13 boards. Because of this I can no longer recommend this company. I used them once before and rated them highly with Angies List, but no longer. Here is the new manager's recent response to me: I had agreed to replace one board, and took measurements of it. I have it in my notes and remember it clearly. I agreed to that with reservations because there is nothing wrong with the board, except that it is a standard width and lacks the custom fitting that you evidently expected. If you had problems with quarter-inch gaps, the time to have raised them was during the installation, not after the staining, and not a year later. Now that you've raised your demands from one to (at least) three boards, you've made it easy for me to say no. I thought pretty well but... Background...screwed up my deck by applying too much stain. Turned almost black from mildew. I tried cleaning it with bleach, (got 2/3 done and gave up) which worked but removed some of the stain leaving the deck blotchy. So 2/3 pretty clean and 1/3 dark because nothing done to it. Decided that it needed to be stripped and re-stained. Mike came out and looked at it, said they would strip and re-stain with Ready Seal. Great ! Came out quickly, stripped and sanded the deck and re-stained it. The pergola and posts look great ! I think the pressure washer was too close to the wood and took some wood away leaving grooves. The deck had to be sanded to remove the "fuzziness" on the wood and smooth it out. They did a pretty good job sanding, just left a lot of "cross sanding' on some boards. But the deck color was very light, like the stain didn't take. Upon further investigation found out that Ready Seal does but dry as deep and dark as some others. Also, the area that I didn't bleach/clean was darker than the rest of the deck. Spoke to Mike about doing (and paying for) another coat plus some additional work. What I got was an e-mail attacking me for being unreasonable??? I thought they did pretty good work, but have a problem recommending him to others based on his behavior.
