wasn't comfortable putting my feet on the surface without a towel and the water was too hot for me. My daughter and I tried several times to have the water temp adjusted; however, the request wasn't well understood as there is a clear language barrier here without at least 1 person to translate. We called in advance to ensure they could accommodate 3 ppl, were told to come right in and they did not have anyone to assist me...I did get the massage chair for 20min tho! Cleanliness and the smell are also an issue. With so many other places to choose from, I would consider going elsewhere, friends. read more

Made an appointment for noon got there ten minutes early. At 12:20 they told me that they can't take me until 1:00. We were sitting there and two people walked in after us and they took them. Not very happy will not come back they are rude and over priced and waited till the last minute to tell me to come back after I had made an appointment for two pedicures. read more

I've not been to a better nail salon in LA. Period. I'm a diva when it comes to my nails and hair. I've been in LA for 15 years, and before coming here, before the pandemic, I must have tried 25 places - all hit and or, unfortunately, bad. My gel nails ALWAYS look great and last longer than I thought they would. They do not time their after-manicure massage on either the hands or feet. (Fabulous pedicures, too! The women are all nice and thorough. My go-to manicurist is the fantastic Wendy, and she has been since coming. Again, it feels good to have the confidence that my nails will always look great - and last. read more

Beware! Ask for price before you pay. It changes as they work on you. They act like they don't understand what you're saying so they can add up something you didn't want. Let me just start by clarifying that this review is in regards to the service I received for my manicure. To start off, I arrived at 9:30 to the location and it was closed. Their business hours are listed as opening at 9:30. After returning shortly after 10, I was told that I should come at 10 next time. Why list your "new" business hours as 9:30-7:30 on Monday if you're just going to open at 10? Being the first customer I was seated upon arrival. The man doing my manicure was not friendly and was very unprofessional. He was constantly stopping to text on his phone for minutes at a time. I will admit he did a good job on my nails but his attitude and demeanor was very off putting. If anything saved this place, it was the woman who did my pedicure. She was very nice and didn't push me into any add one I didn't feel like I needed. She was great and stopping at points to make sure I was happy with how it was turning out so far. I appreciated her input and tipped her accordingly. This was my second time here, the first time wasn't amazing but I did feel like it was good enough to merit coming back. After today, however, I will be sure to hold off for a different manicurist. read more

Horrible customer service ...I come here all the time , I only use Nancy . Today the owner had told me to come back at a certain time, I even came back 15 minutes earlier to find Nancy the nail tech starting on someone else. On another occasion, knowing that Nancy was booked for the whole day the owner had me waiting 45 minutes for "Nancy" ,only to have the owner try to assign a diff nail tech to me. She prob thought I would just take whomever since I was sitting there for so long, I left. It's just outright wrong that they don't care about loyal customers . read more

I'm torn. I'll start with the PROs. PROs: By far this is probably one of the best nail spas in the L.A. area. Yes, I know sometimes they screw up and they can get a little rough. But I'm telling you, I now live in Torrance, and I work in Monterey Park, so since I moved away from West L.A., I've gone to many places around the city trying to find detailed, attentive mani-pedi treatments. It's hard. Most places are finished with you in 20-40 minutes, because they're rushing for the next appointment. Other places slap a lot of product on my skin that dries out my hands and makes them look older. At one place, I got a gel treatment for the first time in years (I've only worn a gel one time ever); it looked clumpy, not smooth. At two different locations, my nail shape was slanted and uneven. Other places massage you for about 30 seconds to a minute and move on. So abysmal. I just happened to be in the L.A. area yesterday and dropped by my old stomping ground. These girls remembered me even though I haven't been there in about a year! I felt like I was coming home. I was in the chair for over an hour. My manicure was on point, all the dead skin on my cuticles was fully removed and my hands looked years younger. Nail shape absolutely perfect. Same for my pedicure. They massaged my legs, feet, arms, hands for a good 5 to 7 minutes. I closed my eyes and sat back in the chair because it's been such a long time since I've had it this good. CONS: I really want to give this place 5 stars. But I will keep my rating at 3. First, there is the long wait. This time, I only waited about 20 minutes for the chair. But back in the day, I waited far longer. Over an hour. Also, these ladies tend to get rough while trying to be thorough. There were a couple of times when I squirmed because they were digging or cutting too deep. Finally, I was not comfortable yesterday when one of the girls threw her arms around my neck, surprising me from behind. She breathed directly in my face and whispered that she wanted to be paid in cash because she gave me hookups I didn't ask for. She may have been sick because now my chest and throat are sore. She made it clear several times throughout the visit that she wanted cash. I love the jobs they do, but the professionalism still needs work. read more

I looked at the reviews on google and it was an4 star place so I decided to go. I asked for the length in the picture and shape. She ended up cutting them very short and making them into whatever shape she wanted. The design was extremely messy and and un even. The nails were all different lengths and are crooked. My cuticles are uncut causing the base to look extremely messy. read more

I called and it was the only one in the area free for a pedicure at 530 on Fri. Still had to wait another 5 mins but not bad. Tech - phenomenal, great attn to detail, ill say patient vs slow.. took 90 mins but i felt she did a great job. Mgmt/operations - uncharges galore. Flip flops $2, foot scrub $5 but the kicker... sitting in a spa chair $5. I thought i was off to the side because the chairs were occupied. Once both freed up i asked to sit in the chair when it was time to polish (sitting in a chair with wheels with feet propped at an uncomfortable height isnt at all what ive ever experienced) and was told no. After 3-5 mins of trying to communicate and explain why i wanted to move i was told i could for $5 even tho i wouldnt be using spa tub or massage. Literally just sitting down. So customer service but again, great tech. Luckily i already have a preferred shop so no need to return. I do appreciate they were able to accommodate but to get your money's worth, would go elsewhere. Maybe they dont expect tips so they charge for everything. I still tipped but due to miscommunication with staff they had to run my card 3x. Once for pedi $24, another to leave a tip and last for flip flops since i had closed shoes and tech didnt realize i wanted her to charge with tip :( read more

I came here based on a friend's recommendation - she's been coming here for 12 years. I love the other nail salon I've reviewed [see my account] A LOT so this was a test round in the event I need to rotate my business :) . Overall, a great place to get your nails done. I got a french gel manicure and it was $30 (before tip). The manicurist was extremely detailed in safely and pain-freely removing my previous gel nails to the point where I don't think she took off any layers of nail in the process- A++! I hate when they buff your nail super hard because your nails get SOO thin. I would come here again for sure. $20 gel manicure (great price!) $5 add gel (standard) $5 cuticle removal (not standard, but given the price is so good to start, it is affordable) read more

Asked for specifically a regular pedicure and they ended up charging me for a spa pedicure. But it was only $3 and my lady did a fantastic job and gave me a really long relaxing massage so it was well worth it. My lady did a fantastic trim and paint job. No blood no pain. Also they close at 7:30pm which is later than most places. I called at 6:15pm if they would still be able to take me and they took me in no problem without rushing. read more

I was a regular customer until the bad service and painful pedicures and acrylic fills. I was cut very badly by the owner almost every time I would I go. She's very careless with the electric nail file and will burn your skin right off. She is the only one that does acrylic nails there. So you can image how long the wait is. With or without an appointment it takes 1-2 hours wait. Even with appointment they always make you wait. Don't ever come here. It's not worth the pain or wait. read more

Came back for a pedi from Fubu, she's so sweet and gives a great massage, but my toe nails were not painted well.

I moved from the South Bay about 6 months ago and was looking for a new nail spot. This place came highly recommended by my boyfriend's mom who had been coming here for years. I looked at the Yelp reviews and was skeptical because all the reviews were pretty split. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. The place was really rather small and I did have to stand for a bit, but I managed to get a seat. I talked with a regular who had been going there for years and she totally swore by them after I voiced some of my concerns with her. I did wait about thirty minutes, but I didn't have an appointment and I wanted a gel manicure, full set, with a pedicure. Not sure what everyone was talking about with bleeding cuticles or unsanitary conditions, because the guy who did my nails did them very well. They are sturdy, evenly shaped, all the same size, and painted nicely. They were all very friendly and the camaraderie was all very good. They were gentle, thorough, very skilled, and the workmanship was very good. The lady doing my pedicure did ask if I wanted callous remover for five dollars more, and I told her no thank you. I'm not sure she understood, because she did it anyway, but all in all, my hands and toes came out very nice. It is on the pricier side- I paid $59.00 for the gel nail set, pedicure, and callous removing, but it was well worth it. I was so satisfied I paid over 20 percent in tip. I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates quality service and careful attention to detail. read more

Love this place the owner did my daughters nails for prom April 29, 2017...beautiful... I made the appointment 2 months in advance for 11am that day we got there at 10:55am and they were waiting and ready to do her nails a new set with rindstones and a pedicure with French tip and got her out in 1 hr. Thank you so much for you timely, friendly and efficient service. I was very pleased and so was she . They're racist and rude. Two nail techs worked on the white woman who came in 30 minutes after me while It took an hour for one elderly woman to do a polish change in my toes and hands. No one helped the tech working on me but two techs jumped to work together in the woman who came after me. Besides the fact I was Black and she was white we got the same service but different customer service. Never again will they get my money. And my tech knew very little English and did a mediocre job. read more

It's incredibly sad that such a shop is still in business after all these years of poor reviews. I actually never checked their ratings till today and this explains why I was treated poorly. The issue with this salon is their OWNER. Such an ill mannered woman, who's incredibly rude and unpleasant and lacks knowledge in customer service. I walked in with a scheduled appointment time but was told by the owner I was bumped off because another person who's a regular and happened to be Caucasian called in later after me to replace me. So, I asked why I wasn't informed, she replied, "I don't have to" with a horrible stare afterwards. Never have I felt so uncomfortable about a situation....PLEASE STAY AWAY! They have nice techs, like Wendy and Fubu, but the owner is full of venomous spirit. read more

They did a great job on my finger nails for gel. My gel actually stayed on. I recommend

What a disaster of an experience! As a working mom I have limited amount of time to get things done for myself and try to be efficient as possible with scheduling etc. I called ahead asking how long the wait was and was told 10 minutes. I called to make sure that they had availability. They said go ahead come right down. They made me wait 30 minutes. Barely acknowledged that I was there and then took a walk-in. I rarely treat myself to a manicure and was so excited about trying out dip powder nails. It was a Sunday so a lot of nail shops were closed and I found this one that had ok reviews. Should have done my research. The worst nail experience in my life. When I walked in they barely acknowledged me, I waited for quite some time. I almost walked out and wish I had. The lady I ended up with did such a terrible job with my nails. She cut my cuticles with the electric drill that she used to file. They were bleeding while she was doing the last cost of polish. I have never cried in a salon before but this was so terrible. She ended up putting a white coat of dip polish over the sparkly one that I had asked for. She had to drill all of that coat off creating dips and weird edges and filing off some skin along with it. They are so bulky and ugly I cried the whole drive home. I have learned my lesson. I will never return to this shop. Now I have to wait for my cuticles to heal so I can go elsewhere to have them fixed. read more

I thought I'd come back because last time I went they were nice. However I felt discriminated. I took my face mask and they handed me a face shield to wear. I didn't think much of it until I saw the white lady getting her pedicure. She didn't have a face shield on. And the lady that was waiting for her nails to dry didn't have a face shield on when I entered the business. I thought they overcharged too. I saw a list of their prices and did the math before she told me the total. It didn't add up. I won't be coming here any read more

I just got my nails done there. I got a full set of acrylics with french tip and gel. The total came out to $33.00 and I think it's totally worth it. Bill did a fabulous job, he did exactly what he was told. He's very thorough and gentle. That's what I like. The only reason why I took off one star is that the place looks ghetto. I'm super picky and I swear I micro manage people who do my nails. I get overly dramatic when it's not the way I want it. Overall I'm am very happy with my nails. :-) Cheers! I've come here three times to get my nails done. The first time was good but took over an hour from when the lady started working on my nails. She seemed a little inexperienced and slow but I liked the end result. The next two times however were not great. The second time I came the lady messed up two of my nails when painting and had to start over and that took a long time to get fixed. Also two different nails were misshapen, and one of my thumbs was left much longer than another. I had to file said nails at home to get the shape properly. I didn't notice this as she was doing my nails because she seemed anxious about fixing my two nails she had to start over with. The wait was about 30 minutes with an appointment. The last time I never ended up getting my nails done. I made an appointment and called beforehand to check in and they told me to still come in at my appointment time of 10AM. Upon arriving I was told the wait was about 15 minutes with my appointment. At the 25 minute mark I asked if I would be seen soon and I was brought to sit at one of the tables and given the color wheel to look at. At about 40 minutes I asked again how long it would be and I was told that they just needed five more minutes. I ended up waiting over an hour in total until I was told "15 more minutes" again. I left after having wasted my morning without a single apology directed at me. I waited because I really wanted to get my nails done and knew that there would be a walk in wait at every other place in the area on a Saturday (which is why I made the appointment to begin with). The colors they offer are also pretty limited. I returned the third time hoping my experience would be more like my first visit and because it's a familiar place near my boyfriend's apartment. Best place I would recommend in the area is definitely Pink Nails on National, and that's a few miles away from here. read more

Great service BUT even though they attempt to disinfect there materials I saw them not do it long enough. I was cut twice once on my foot and once in my hand... It's not the first time it happens here but certainly the last. It worries me that because they don't really disinfect there material I can catch something from a cut from the material. The woman who did my pedi/mani cut way to much skin off that my big toe got infected after she cut me. It took about a month to get my skin back to normal. I don't think I will be returning ever. I am very disappointed because I did love the amount of time they spend on you. I have to stop cheating on Helen's and stop going to these other places. I was referred to this place from by an aquaintance of mine. It was friday night and i was immediately put off by the size of the place. The place is really small and it was packed. I had to leave and shop before they could take me. The experience was ok but they do not have any massage chairs....gasp...wtf????? everyone has a massage chair nowadays. Keep up with the times. The people there are very nice and accomodating but I couldnt really relax because there were sooooo many people and it was soooo cramped. The good part is that they wax eyebrows, the bad part is that they do them in the middle of the room in front of everyone. Once again WTF???? Where is the privacy. This place does not feel like a spa and I will only go back if I am extremely desperate. read more

Great attention to detail. This was my first time getting my nails done so I'm glad that they listened to what i wanted especially in regards to the length of the acrylics. But I have to give 1 star because of hygiene. They cut the cuticles roughly enough to cause bleeding on two of my fingers. But instead of cleaning and waiting for the bleeding to stop the nail technician continued. I probably wouldn't have mind if she continued with stuff that could be sterilized but she also painted my nails while they still bled. Very unsanitary and I can't imagine the amount of blood mixed with the nail polish considering how many reviews mention bleeding. Had hygiene not been an issue I'd gladly give 5 stars because that do pay lots of attention to detail and do great work read more
