CUSTOMERS BEWARE! I had a 3 man crew for an 850sq foot space. Moving out took nearly 6 hours and the crew arrived 10 minutes late and didn't account for that on my final bill, they made me very uncomfortable and one kept inappropriately flirting and asked about my relationship status and for my number to "hang out." This made me feel quite uncomfortable and unhappy about my moving experience, especially since I was alone. I felt pressured to give him my number so he would leave me alone and get back to moving my stuff and later he texted, called, and sent pictures of himself to my phone months after my move asking to come over, until I finally blocked him. I left a very detailed email expressing my grievances regarding this poorly done move to Amanda hoping she would understand being a woman herself and for me as a customer who had used them before and always tipped the movers well. This wasn't the case. She never responded to my emails and dodged my phone calls. The moving crew dragged their feet, complained, wasted time, arrived late. Damaged almost all my solid wood furniture, scraped paint off of walls, and did in nearly 6 hours what 2 very excellent movers had done in 3 hours only one year prior. I paid more than twice as much for this move as I did an almost identical move from one year before with one less man than I had in this crew. I also feel these men were not respectful of my time which = a lot of money. If you use this company, be careful. I would advise not being alone while they move you like I was. Look elsewhere. I hired American Movers 361 to move me recently. The movers propped my main tv up against the wall, it slid down the wall and fell, and the screen cracked. We all heard it and no denying that's what happened. Amanda showed up within 30 minutes (that I paid for while the clock was running) and asked me how I'd like it resolved. We agreed we would see if it could be repaired first. After contacting a tv repair company they informed me once the screen is cracked there are no repair options. I reached out to Amanda. She said she had to get with the employee for payment arrangements. I informed her that I hired the moving company, not the employee and however she arranges to get paid back from him is between him and the company but my resolution should be between me and the company. She informed me that for 6 years this is the way she does it. I made a few more inquiries about the issue being resolved and the last few texts have gone unanswered. I did everything I said I would do. I paid upon completion with no hassle. I tried to get it repaired. And I communicated with her. She has failed to do what she said she would do, which was make it right. read more

I am putting one star because there is not an option to put a negative star. Those who gave five stars are aligned with company some how!! I used American movers 361 on September 19, 2020 and it was a horrible experience. The movers disassembled my furniture to move and never re-assembled the stuff. However, when I went to assemble my furniture, screws were missing etc. I experienced property damage to wall and personal stuff. When we complained to management - some guy named Lupe - they said they will make right but never did. When I called, they said they will return call but never did. This company only care about receiving a check. My advice to anyone who uses American Movers 361 to do so as a last resort, and if you do don't pay until couple of days after you are able to check that everything is accounted for. read more

I've moved 16 times in the last 20 years for my job and I don't believe I can remember a worse experience. A job that should have taken no more than 5 to 6 hours, max...... took 8 hrs. The guys broke multiple items and were the slowest I've every had. One of the gentlemen was working great and very friendly. The other two were slow and very rude. The good worker kept apologizing for the others behavior and telling us this should not be taking this long. When it was finally over at 9 pm, we find out they charged us for the 45 minutes it took them to find the house, because they wouldn't follow us. Do not use them!! read more

Unfortunately, their dispatcher Lupe died unexpectedly, and their prices have gone way up. I needed something heavy on casters moved from of my truck bed to the ground, less than 5 minutes work. In the past, they charged something like $80, since I didn't need a truck. This time, the new dispatcher quoted $110, and gave me double talk about a "specialty" (single) item and "insurance" costs. In the past, their rates were based on time or difficulty, now, they're based on what she can get out of you. You might want to consider hiring a local handyman and his buddies. read more

Terrible experience! I lived in a small 3 bedroom apartment all the has to do was move furniture, it took them 4 hours!!! When I called to complain and tell the owner his guys were moving slow and taking to many breaks, he said they weren't because they haven't called to ask him for one. Not all my furniture was wrapped, all my headboards and footboard were scratched up. Also my boys bunk beds were not put together right. Lots of screw were missing. When I called to price, Lupe was very nice, and when I told him that I was a disabled veteran that just had spine surgery in Feb. 2019 and was unable to lift he was more than grateful for my service, and told me they would take care of me. I told Lupe that I needed help with the TV's on the wall, and he told me no to worry about anything, they'd take care of it, implying that they would hang them again for me. Problem 1: He offered me a discounted price, but didn't tell me that there was travel time to my location. Problem 2: When we got to the new location, the guy on location received a call about a job in Port A, and all of a sudden the "insurance" would not allow them to re-hang the TV's. Problem 3: The guys that he sent could not figure out how to get my 8' sofa sleeper out of the front door, even though it was brought in through the front door. After wrestling with it, and scratching the wall at the bottom of the stairs (no problem I was doing touch up painting anyway), the guys decided they must take it out the back door, and then through two more yards since I live in a townhouse. The problem was that they severely damaged the back door frame pulling the couch through the smaller back door. The owner told me that the damage would cost 150.00 to repair. I called Lupe and he was still polite, and I told him I would text him pictures (7/9/2019), and he was going to call me back, I did immediately, but received no call. Over the next couple of days I called and left a couple of messages, as well as texted him with no response. On 7/16/19 I finally got ahold of him, he told me that he had gone by the location and that maintenance had removed appliances and they must have caused the damage during removal, but that is not true, and I offered to meet him over at the townhouse, but he just hung up on me. The conversation moved to text, and he further mentioned the same, and I again told him I would meet him there to prove no appliances have been moved, he avoided the question. Lupe then moved to telling me that I was using the fact I was a disabled veteran as a crutch, really? I had spine surgery 2/2019. I then contacted my maintenance man who called Lupe and after the maintenance confirmed no appliances have been moved, was told by Lupe that I was a ******* to which he attempted to defend me and blame the movers, but Lupe discounted him, so I am responsible to the owner for the 150.00, which means that great price that American Movers cost, just became an ugly price in the long run. Do not use these guys! Broke my piano and when I called 2 days later to ask how to make a claim he called me a liar and said it was broken before the move. Had a lesson on Sat, was working, moved on weds and now it's broken. They promised us they were pro piano movers, do not believe them. read more

Extremely shady moving company, I wouldn't trust their employees in my house or in charge of moving my valuables. The owner or so he said was the owner was extremely rude and had no customer service. They think everything is a joke, but they're the joke. read more

Incredibly poor experience. We moved my 73 and 71 year-old parents from Corpus Christi to Austin, Tx. The manager, Lupe, claimed he wasn't shown "all these different crevices" of the house that he didn't include in his quote. The movers (very nice men), filled the entire truck but required an additional uHaul. That additional trailer was loaded as well my parents vehicles. Since the trailer was scheduled to come a day later, since my parents needed to sign at closing, they were to arrive in Austin with the trailer attached and nobody to help unload. The job was not finished. To send workers to come unload the trailer "would be additional charges." Bottom line, this company is very unprofessional, hanging up on me, raising his voice, and ultimately telling me he would rather talk to the Better Business Bureau instead of talking to me. A report will be filed shortly. The only reason I needed to call was because he stopped returning my parents phone calls. Such a poor experience that could have been salvaged. From cashier's checks needed, no copies of a contract, and hanging up on customers. Steer clear of this company. read more

I needed a very large safe moved from the store I purchased it at. I looked for a few bids and have seen American movers ad before. I made my appointment and they showed up on time they had moved 14 safes from that store alone. It took longer for the store to bring my safe out then they did unloading it and moving it in lol very fast service no issue I will recommend them to my friends. read more

This was the worst movies I've ever in my life had. I called they gave me a quote of Less Than 3 hours to move a 3bedroom 2 bath apt home to another 3 bedroom 2 bath home, and it took 10 hours. The quote was less than $300 it cost me $1,000. The worst of it all, they ripped my king size mattress. They don't want to replace it or compensate for it, all they want to do is put a patch on it or sew it up. I will never ever use them or refer them to anyone ever again. USE ANY OTHER MOVING COMPANY. These sheister's LUPE and AMANDA owners take CASH at truck roll out because they damage items, do NOT complete the job, ABUSE their customers (expectation 2 different days to be up OVER 24 hours to accomodate them not sending enough help to do the job LUPE bid to take from another mover!) and ABUSE their workers expecting them to work greater than 12 hour days, sleep in trucks with no bedding etc and still keep moving people. Expected his THREE people to unload 2 fully packed 26 ft trucks after working ALL day and being up OVER 24 hours to DRIVE back to Corpus Christi 2.5 hours (UNSAFE !!) and WORK again!! LUPE overbooks, UNDERSTAFFS and LIES to his customers. Making ME out to be unreasonable after the HORRENDOUS UN-professional behaviors during the PACKING, DURING The loading (damaging the rental property walls to the tune of a couple hundred dollars), And THREATENED to abandon me for my move by unloading the first truck in my driveway and leave me without a mover at the END of the month after I had CANCELLED a different mover because this MONEY HUNGRY LIAR wanted my job! BROKE my HE washing machine because UN-educated on how to move these items and SNAPPED a spring to the washer leaving the tub dislocated and leaking water ALL over the floor. ABANDONED the job leaving item they Dis-assembled as UN-assembled in the new home. I have moved 13 times in my adult life and let me just say, these people are not worth a PENNY!! Use your family if you can before them...they probably have more sense than these people. LUPE has refused my phone calls and texts and REFUSED to REPAIR what THEY broke.
