It was devastating to lose almost everything I owned in a burglary earlier this year at this facility. It has been even more difficult since, as the situation continues to escalate. We learned that the facility was unsecured at the time, with the front gate left open. The security camera on our building was also broken, so thieves had easy, unsecured access to our property. Management and the owner knew this and chose not to alert any customers! Since the burglary, employees have treated my husband and me like total garbage. We've lost everything we have cared about--haven't we been through enough? Apparently not! We have been lied to over and over and over again. We get ghosted for months at a time. Their protection plan/insurance refuses to pay because they say there is no evidence of a crime. We have to rebuild our lives from scratch, while they keep adding insult to injury. Then I come on Yelp and see that this is not an isolated incident! This exact scam has been going on for YEARS, and these clowns keep getting away with it! Please take these horror stories seriously and choose another property. Also, really read positive reviews thoroughly; it is very clear they are phony. I REGRET moving into CubeSmart Storage. They greedily have raised $$the $$rent on regular basis. After a couple of years my monthly payment has almost DOUBLED. Altho I rented a Climate Controlled Unit it's been way TOO HOT-- too suffocating in there to go thru our things and downsize as planned. Am just hoping our furniture hasn't been damaged! Also back perimeter fence is in bad shape -- anybody could climb over! My wife doesn't feel safe there alone. Moving out ASAP. read more

We moved our stuff out due to an overwhelming amount of rats who ate through boxes and furniture. Also, a lot of water damage to very valuable keepsakes and memoirs from massive water intrusion into the rental unit. Nearly new furniture with an overwhelming smell of rat urine, wooden furniture swollen from water damage. There's nothing they can do it about it. read more

I have had my stuff stored here for 2.5 years with little to no complaints. I was recently notified that the lock on my unit was missing and that a temporary one had been placed, but that I needed to come down and secure my unit. I thought to myself they must be mistaken as I had not been to my unit in months. I was also in possession of both keys capable of opening their suggested cube smart branded lock. Upon arrival staff removed the temporary lock, I opened my unit to find 90% of my belongings GONE. When I asked if there are surveillance cameras I was given a nod indicating that yes they do. When the officer arrived he immediately asked about what they've done about the camera situation, to my surprise the response he got was "we're working on it". The officer proceeded to inform me that he was very familiar with the location, that the surveillance system has been down since Christmas, and that there have been a rash of burglaries since the cameras had been damaged or disabled. Staff knows the cameras are not working and that people are breaking into lockers yet they have failed to inform their customer's in any way. Yes this happens, yes I have the insurance, but insurance will not replace my family heirlooms and the numerous old photo albums taken. Had I been informed about the uptick in burglaries I would have made it a point to collect my most precious irreplaceable items immediately before relocating all my belongings. If you've had your stuff stolen from this facility from December 2018 to now please inbox me as I will be seeking counsel in this matter. Update 2/20/19 CubeSmart corporate replied to both my google and yelp review asking for my information, I replied immediately, as of today no reply or call. Great experience with Cubesmart. Rented a unit for my son instead of taking stuff home for the summer months from TAMUCC. Web experience reserving a space was easy. John called to confirm the reservation a day or 2 after I reserved it online. A few days before the actual rental start date John called me back to make sure the date was still a go. My son and I came in on a Friday late afternoon. The place was very easy to get to from both the college and the highway. Rental property is well lit inside and out of our building. Renting one of these units has been honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had. First I rented it and every time I tried signing the lease it had an error. When I finally got through we got to our unit to unload and it was unlocked and already full. I contacted the emergency line but no one ever got back to me. Then when we tried to leave, our access code was denied. Again I called the line and after being on hold we were finally given a code to get out and go home. We were also never told that there's were certain hours on the gate by any of the four people I spoke to. Then I tried to make an account on the app and they said to use the temporary password, there was no password given. So I called the line again. Lastly I get here the next day to a new unit and they didn't put a lock in it. I will never be using the business again. The employee that helped us also was not wearing a mask. read more

Unfortunately, I have to update my review... I had great help from the gentlemen that worked at the storage unit over the many months that I have been renting, but the service I received today was awful. After moving all of my belongings out from this unit I stopped by the office hoping to get a move out sheet, receipt, or something to have in writing which states that I have moved out and do not owe any money. I like to have these things in writing just to cover myself, Incase there are any issues/confusion in the future. Well the woman working the office (Crissy, Chrissy, Cassy, I was so upset i didn't pay much attention to the name), was about to take another customer on a tour of the storage unit so I asked if I needed to do anything after moving out. Not once did she mention to hang tight so she could print me a move out receipt after she got back or suggest she just email me one but was very stand offish and kept on brushing me off. Let's keep in mind that I am a paying customer and I at the least want the bare minimum of service I pay for. So I asked when she would get back from her tour so I can wait until she was done with this customer and get what I needed. Once she got back, her and her customer went in the office, so i went in and stood in line. Meanwhile, this woman was very talkative to this other customer, all smiles, great customer service, so I knew it wasn't just her personality and that she was shy... while I was waiting in line she told me she needed my drivers license and didn't say one word but handed me a move out receipt with no eye contact, no explanation, nothing. Not a "here's your receipt, this is the money you owe because we do not prorate" etc. I don't ask for a "have a nice day" but the bare minimum of just telling me what exactly she handed me. When I asked what the monitory amount showing on the receipt was, she proceeded to say, "What do you mean, what are you even looking at, that's your move out sheet, you can leave now." I finally asked why she had an attitude and why I wasn't getting the same service this other man was getting and she just kept arguing while smirking and told me "If anything, you have the attitude and I'm with a customer." Mind you, I never once asked her to pause what she was doing with the other customer, as I was patiently waiting in line, minding my own business. She was completely dismissive and condescending. There's a lot more that was said that I won't get into detail with but the ONLY difference between that other customer and myself was the way I looked. I still can't figure out if I was discriminated against because I was a woman, or if it was because I was young, or that fact that I was Asian and looked like a bum because I was in sweaty gym clothes from moving my belongings all morning. However, I GUARANTEE you that if I walked in after work, in my military uniform, I would have had the same pleasant experience that man next me had. I will say, she actually called me after I left to apologize for the way she was behaving which was appreciated but bottom line is the fact that it was unacceptable, unprofessional, and there was absolutely no reason for it. Don't let this post stop you from going there as the facility itself is nice and the turn around is very rapid but I hope that no one else has to experience this. read more
