We went to the office to inform them and they simply said, "This is Corpus Christi. There's mold"...so we decided to try to combat the mold. We put charcoal throughout the unit, and also set off mold bombs...came back after 2 weeks and checked and mold was still all over everything. We moved our stuff into a climate control storage facility instead. We wish we would have done that in the first place. When we were giving our key fob back, the woman in the office told us that mold grows in storage units (like it wasn't a big deal). Soooo again - I would steer away from AAA storage. We watched many folks driving their boats into the units and storing them and our guess is that the wet boats are causing mold in all of the units.

They completely removed the roof of my storage unit and debris including sheet metal scraps, screws, dirt, and bird droppings all fell into my unit. My motorcycle was completely covered and a sheet metal screw is now lodged in my tire. Another note, if you move out early they will not pro rate a refund. They will give you nothing.

We learned that the facility was unsecured at the time, with the front gate left open. The security camera on our building was also broken, so thieves had easy, unsecured access to our property. Management and the owner knew this and chose not to alert any customers! Since the burglary, employees have treated my husband and me like total garbage. We've lost everything we have cared about--haven't we been through enough? Apparently not! We have been lied to over and over and over again. We get ghosted for months at a time. Their protection plan/insurance refuses to pay because they say there is no evidence of a crime. We have to rebuild our lives from scratch, while they keep adding insult to injury. Then I come on Yelp and see that this is not an isolated incident! This exact scam has been going on for YEARS, and these clowns keep getting away with it! Please take these horror stories seriously and choose another property. Also, really read positive reviews thoroughly; it is very clear they are phony. Altho I rented a Climate Controlled Unit it's been way TOO HOT-- too suffocating in there to go thru our things and downsize as planned. Am just hoping our furniture hasn't been damaged! Also back perimeter fence is in bad shape -- anybody could climb over! My wife doesn't feel safe there alone. Moving out ASAP.
