She helped us save money on a cooling Columbia pillow that I added to our order, and even got our bed delivered to us the next day since we were in dire need of a bed! The 4th of July sale was going on, so we got $200 off of our mattress price, and they gave us a free rising base so we can sit up in bed and watch TV! (I think she said it normally cost $599 for the base, but they were giving them out for free with all bed purchases). My son now wants a new twin mattress because apparently he's getting a backache from the dip in his bed (he's 19...., but okay...) ;) I'll be browsing Mattress Firm's twin mattresses today to see if we can find him one there since we had such a good experience.

They claim to have a different model than regular furniture stores or just different, but it's like all the others. They have furniture for almost every room and everybody. The prices are comparable to other furniture stores. What I like about the dump is really just their building. It's a huge store, like a warehouse inside, and is very big. They have a lot to look at, which makes it hard to walk out without finding something you like.

There's always something interesting in their collection, which at any time has handmade, vintage, collectible, and other unique items alongside more conventional ones. The more desirable vintage and antique items won't be cheap, but they'll be cheaper than at a curated vintage or antique furniture shop. Jubilee isn't a thrift store, and in some cases their prices can be a bit high. Everything is final sale, so there's an element of "buyer beware," like most resale shops. They put the brand name on the price tag if it's a selling point, but not so much for cheaper brands. Once I purchased an item here, and when I got home I found the label and saw it was made in China by a low-end furniture company. I never would have paid as much had I known, so I felt a bit duped. However I still wound up going back as I never found as much furniture I liked anywhere else. And for what it's worth, the item has held up. Most of their service is provided by volunteers, who are nice, but some are more knowledgeable than others. To sum up, it's not perfect, but in a retail landscape where most new furniture is either flimsy "manufactured wood" or ultra-expensive high end brands, Jubilee helps fill an important gap for affordable quality furniture.

My husband and I purchased a beautiful bedroom set from Steinhafels in Schaumburg earlier this…read moreyear. Unfortunately, our experience since then has been extremely disappointing. The original set was delivered in March, and every piece had some type of issue, including paint imperfections, marks, and holes. We returned the furniture and, because we really wanted the set, agreed to give them another opportunity. The reorder was finally placed in May and delivered in July. Unfortunately, the replacement furniture also had issues, including drawers that did not close properly and wood that was not flush. We initially declined the delivery and requested a refund. We were then encouraged to allow the warehouse to correct the imperfections. After several weeks, we were told the furniture was in "pristine condition," yet the dresser and one nightstand still have drawers that do not close properly, along with other visible workmanship issues. At this point, we have simply asked for our money back. Unfortunately, we are now receiving conflicting answers from the store and warehouse regarding whether a refund will be provided. We have been more than reasonable and have given the company multiple opportunities to make this right. For the amount of money we spent, I expected much better quality and, most importantly, much better customer service. I hope Steinhafels will reconsider and resolve this fairly without us having to take further steps.
