Scenic Ave. The public is…read moreencouraged to enter and view the outside exhibits and read the plaques with information upon them. The post building serves yummy lunches Mon-Fri from 11am to 2pm. Beverages of all types and the frozen pizzas made on-site can be bought whenever the post building is open. Hours vary a tiny bit but generally Mon-Fri 11 am until closing (usually around 7-9pm depending upon attendance levels). Sunday opens at 1pm until 5-7 pm or so, again, depending upon attendance levels. Saturday opens at either 11 am or noon. I forget which. Just drop on by and tour the outside until the building opens!!!! Within the post are lots of exhibits of militaria such as weapons, plaques, pictures of all types and awesome models of a submarine and a battleship. Friendly folks gather here; military veterans and non-veterans. Construction workers seeking lunch find our large parking area very handy allowing them to park their truck while entering for a hot meal. As our resident Web radio station DJ Skippy declares; salt and pepper to accompany your meal is free!!! During the spring, summer and fall months a variety of outside activities occur. Recently, a medieval renaissance faire with jousting and battling knights in armor took place and in June the JuneBug Jamboree with Volkswagens of all types gathering for the weekend with attendees from across the USA present. Affairs and events of all types. Call the post to inquire about upcoming events. There are typically fliers placed upon the doors of upcoming events. Every other Wednesday during the warmer months the motorcycle enthusiasts gather to swap stories, eat and drink and listen to music performed upon the covered stage and if a stray cloud arrives with wet in it the covered listening area provides a dry area to continue the fun. Call the post to learn what particular Wednesday night is "Bike Night." The multi-acre American Legion Vietnam War Memorial Post 639 is a park-like setting providing much to many. Too much to cover here. Drop by and experience the post in person. Many folks drop by to show their kids the outside exhibits and to run around atop the soft, springy, green regularly-mowed grass. There are also outside benches and tables where a picnic can be held. There is a "retired USA flag" drop-off in front of the post building where worn-out flags are given a proper, respectful retirement ceremony. Time for me to quit writing and you to stop reading and plan on dropping by Post 639!!! Look at the top of this page for the "See all the photos" link. It leads to a LOT of pictures of the post, past activities, etc.

This use to be my all time favorite job. I've been here for two years which I'm sure I'll get fired…read moreafter leaving this review. This job was amazing up until the current GM became the GM. At first Michelle made an amazing GM, super friendly and very loving. Then she got a huge head & she started taking advantage of her power. Then she made the decision of bringing Jennifer Pierson in as a club house manager, which then everyone was informed how awful Michelle & Jen really was. Especially when they work together. Michelle got a membership per being a GM which then caused her husband to come golf more. Other than her husband having short man syndrome he lies and spies a ton. Not only that her husband being a member there is a huge conflict of interest because he snoops on the members and reports back to Michelle but he also likes to have opinions on her staff and voice them to other staff. Michelle, her husband, and Jen are huge on body shaming and her husband likes to voice his opinion on body shaming to other staff. When it gets brought up to Michelle she gets defensive and she says we don't have proof. On top on Ian being a new member at Twin she also decided to bring Jennifer back who was recently fired from Twin in a past time. Jen likes to make extremely inappropriate comments to the men at the club, she also loves body shaming! When she began working there I was forced to wear makeup even though the handbook only says if I wear it then wear it in moderation. She also attacked the size of my breast, my nose piercing, my tattoos, and of course my weight. Face jewelry is in the handbook as strictly prohibited but so is tattoos and that doesn't stop Jen from letting all the skinny girls show their tattoos off! Jen also loves to steal from the club, her Stanley she likes to carry around doesn't only hold water but usually liquor the club is providing. she loves "tasting" the wine that she gets from wine club, so much so that she drinks the whole bottle but doesn't pay. During classic's she was so drunk she could barely stand up straight. One of my favorite things Jen and Michelle approve is stealing money from your paychecks. I've been to the office every paycheck since Jen has started because I'm either missing hours or missing tips which I'm sure are being pocketed by one of the two. I just recently had to get my Covid vaccine which made me sicker than a dog, my temp got up to 101.9 and I even sent a picture of my thermometer to Jen. Calling In isn't allowed even with a fever, I got mega attitude and when I asked to use sick pay, they refused and said I needed a doctors note. Which is fine because I had one. This happened on a Thursday, they told me not to come back in case I was contagious. But told me I needed my doctors note in before end of day Friday for payroll. So my mother took it to twin oaks since I was in bed sick. Then I had to ride with her because they also wouldn't give me my sick pay without filling out paperwork. So then when my mom takes my doctors note to twin so I can receive my sick pay she was informed I won't get it unless Jen approves it. Why on earth does Jen need to approve your sick pay when you have valid proof you're sick. Plus I've worked here for two years and have never called in yet it needs to be approved? More proof they like to steal from you! Not to mention when I went to the hospital on March 30th she "forgot" to pay me my sick pay which still to this day (august 13th) hasn't been paid. There have been multiple employees to have this problem but Michelle won't do anything about it because to get on to Jen would be to prove Michelle made a mistake by letting her come back. They also refuse to pay you your last paycheck without doctoring it. They said you have to turn in your uniform before receiving your last paycheck but they also take money out when you receive your uniform that they don't pay you back. So you're paying for your uniform and they're keeping that money as well as holding your paycheck. The math don't math there does it? Oh and let's not forget employees are not allowed to talk to each other about anyone (staff or managers) but half the time when you walk by the office you'll hear Jen talking mad smack on a staff. If you try to go to Michelle about Jen you're automatically a liar unless apparently you record the convo because Jen is a saint. Of course I would recommend this place for work because the members are absolutely amazing people, you will create bonds here that will make your heart so happy. But if you're looking for employment where the managers aren't body shaming liars I would suggest going elsewhere.
