Ok so i generally like this theater. I refuse to go to Alamo because don't like the concession setup. Too weird and distracting. The problem I have with the concessions at this place is the management has made the horrible decision to not provide tea (sweet or even unsweetened) in the machine anymore. Too many sodas which I don't like because don't like sweetened drinks. read more

Went to see Joker (2) this past Sunday. Movie to start at 10:15. It didn't start until 10:40 after way too many previews. 10-12 of them are too much, mainly because you could have heard them in Ozark. TOO LOUD! The volume was so loud I had to actually put my hands over my ears. There is no reason to have it that loud!!! They didn't turn off the lights during the previews, or at the start of the movie. I had to go out to the front to find someone to have them turned off, thus missing part of the movie. I also asked them to turn down the volume and I think they did. I like this theatre but I'm seriously considering not coming back because of the volume issue and the abundance of preview movies. read more

Quirky designed theater with narrower halls and strange angles. Where most theaters are cooky cutter with wide straight halls and an easy to maneuver and navigate this theater had zigzag and sharp turns that gave the space some character but also makes the space seem smaller than it is. The theater is showing its age with many seats worn but they are still comfortable. All seat recline and despite the wear and tear they have held up well and are far more comfortable than the theater near where I live. I felt the price was a bit higher with the Alamo in town and all the little things they do well, its surprising to find this older theater with small screens charging more. I guess where the Alamo can make more on food and drinks this AMC has to make all its profits from the movies and concessions. This will not be our first choice but its a nice little comfortable theater and that's​ all we really need. read more

The theater was super comfy, with large reclining seats and a great sound system. The popcorn was cold though. So here is the story. My friend and I go to see a 3:10 showing of Ford Vs Ferrari. So we pay our $9.18 or so, which was a really strange amount but whatever. We get our tickets and are directed to theater 6, where we go and wait. 3:10 comes and goes without the show starting. Finally about ten minutes later the trailers starts, and after sitting though 15 minutes or so of those, the movie Midway begins. Wait, what??? Midway, I saw that movie a few weeks ago and hated it! So we leave the theater and go to the customer service desk as we look at our tickets which do say Midway on them. We paid for our tickets separately so it's not like one of misspoke. The kid at the ticket counter was just clearly not paying attention. So the Ford Vs Ferrari in theater 9 was a great movie. If somebody can give me a recap of the first twenty minutes of it though that would be great. read more

For the second time in a row when we have gone to AMC in Springfield we stand in the Premier line for concessions and both times just get overlooked repeatedly while the other line keeps being helped. They moved the line so far over to one side that the people working there don't even look over there. Also, both times, they were out of Pibb on all machines which is the only soda I drink. It just made the experience kinda suck. read more

Theater is nasty and while accessible for the most part, add in all the crap for crowd control and poof accessibility is impacted greatly. Bathroom was disgusting and the accessible stall was too narrow to for anything bigger than a child's wheelchair. Never again, especially when there is a better option in town. read more

Definitely going to become our go to theater. I haven't been in since the redone everything. The rooms seem a bit smaller, but maybe it's because they added recliners and walking room in between chairs. I known that taking out those typical movie chairs and adding stuffed recliners takes away money, but I think it was the right decision. We found a recliner that didn't work, we also had to move a few times because y'all people kept sitting in front of my child. I sat in a couple chairs that were leaning as well. Regardless; you can't beat a $5 am ticket and it's still a great spot to catch a movie even if the chairs aren't perfect and the screen is a little small. read more

Cleanest movie theater in town. Checked out the cheaper movie during the day time. We love the electric recliner seats, they are very comfortable (too comfy one time a guy next to me fell asleep and snored real loud) If you want to make sure you get your tickets before the movie starts you can always buy them online with & a $1.20 convenience fee per ticket. read more

Horrible service. Won't let you in to the theater until 15 minutes before the movie starts. No signs telling you this. So after you arrive early buy concessions and then go to get a seat, they tell you that you cannot go in. We always arrive early so we can get the seats we want. Won't be coming back. The other theaters in town allow patrons early entry. read more

When I finally make plans on an illusive day off, I like to get the most out of my activities, even something as simple as watching a movie. Yes, it is expensive here. However, most theaters are nowadays, so I might as well spend a tad more for awesome reclining seats, to really be as comfortable as possible in a room full of strangers and sticky treats. Given that the reclining seats are large, seating is limited, so plan ahead and get tickets in advance or be there early (but not TOO early, as they don't let you in until 15 minutes prior to show time). Wouldn't recommend this theater for large groups, nearly impossible to all sit together unless you're the first ones in the theater. Sound system is great, although I do wish the screens were a bit larger. Again though, with the reclining seats and smaller capacity, one should not expect imax screens. You do end up with less distractions though, as no one has to struggle to climb over you for a bathroom break. On my last visit, popcorn was really stale, which made no sense since it was a busy weekend night. That may seem like a dumb thing to take stars off for, but with the price I'm paying for popcorn, asking for it to not taste like chewy cardboard isn't absurd. It would also be nice if they didn't make people wait in line to take tickets until right before showtime, because it creates a huge buildup around the soda machines and is very uncomfortable when holding 5lbs of popcorn and 2 gallons of soda that you bought with the "its only 20 cents more!" trap. At least let people into the hall area so we can stand against a wall and not precariously balance our concession stand spoils while dodging hyped up children and sugar-fiends charging the soda machines. read more

Well the snack options are limited, you really can't add butter to your popcorn. You have to request butter at the time your paying. Half the stalls in the girls bathroom are out of order. Some don't even have a sign. read more

Since I wrote my last review, an amazing thing has happened: this theater built an honest-to-goodness REAL IMAX theater. It's not one of those fakey ones that calls itself IMAX but has just a little bit larger screen. It's the real kind, and there's no better place to watch the latest special-effects blockbuster extravaganza. You used to have to go down to Branson to see a film in IMAX, but not anymore! If you're watching it the first week, be sure and get there at least an hour early and be prepared to stand in line to get a good seat. Most movies stick around 2-3 weeks before the next blockbuster, though, and if you take it in the second or third week lines will be a lot more reasonable. I've seen about a half dozen films this way so far. The only down side is that now every "normal" movie theater screen seems to be about the size of a postage stamp! I have been told, but not seen for myself, that the theater is redoing its smaller cinemas, taking out the "theater chairs" and adding much more comfortable recliners. (Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I went to this theater for a non-IMAX show.) Looks like they're feeling the pressure of competition from the more centrally-located Hollywood and South Campbell theaters and doing everything they can to draw people out there. If it leads to more luxurious facilities, I certainly can't complain. Let's hear it for competition! read more

It is a cool theater on the inside however it is not very clean. Popcorn and trash all through the hallways and theaters. The bathrooms smell pretty bad and we're all out of paper towels. But I love how big the actual theater is. The screen was very big and good lighting to see before the movie starts. And of course the concessions are very expensive compared to other theaters. Overall, not that bad but needs to be cleaner. read more

I have to say if it wasn't for the ticket sellers I give this place five stars. When six people are standing in line you would think that the helper ticket taker would come in and set up and wave the next person in line over instead she just wave the person in the back over. I suppose since she was a red shirt then it give her more power over us regular folks. So for that I will just try and not leave my trash in the theatre anymore for who wants to be like that rude person. read more

New low price matinee is a great value, and the recliners are a great addition. But, why does it have to be so hot in there? It must have been 80 degrees inside. It was a sunny, warm spring day on my last visit, and it was hotter in the theater than it was outside. As I exited the building, and felt a cool breeze, it dawned on me how absurd this was. The temperature of the theater made me so uncomfortable that it really did detract from the whole experience. I would otherwise have given this place 4 to 5 stars, but I can't say it was fun sweating my balls off for almost the entire movie. [Update 5/12/17: It is just too freakin' hot here all the freakin' time! I've since been here twice more (because I don't want to park my car in the cesspool that is the downtown area in order to visit Hollywood Theaters, and 16 Cine' is no longer in business), and each time has been in the dead of winter! Upon entering the threshold of the door patrons have the chance to be serviced by The One Armed Bandit, his mastery of customer service is unparalleled and he is notorious for sniffing out the fear of the under aged trying to buy rated R tickets. My movie theater of choice in Springfield. By far the cleanest theater. Tickets for popular movies sell out quickly so I found the safest way is to just order online ahead of time. The recliners really allow you to get comfortable and enjoy your movie. Plenty of leg room and usually everyone watching the movie is respectful of others. read more

The seating is great when you can sit with the people you came with for the movie. The entrance and sidewalks are covered with cigarette butts and trash. This use to be the premier theatre in town but AMC has turned it to garbage. Took my daughter here Thursday (4/27) for a daddy daughter date to see beauty and the beast. First, ticket prices have increased (while quality has gone down) for matinee. The movie was to start at 1:15 but was on a black screen till 1:35 and skipped previews straight to opening credits. Seats and armrest worn down to the point of scratchy and itchy on the arm rest and chairs. The picture of the movie was extended a few feet past the screen on the left and right so you couldn't see the whole picture. Sound was abnormally to loud where my daughter had to cover her ears. No more free bucket refills on popcorn and bathrooms are really gross. I use to love this theatre but AMC bought it to turn it into a cash cow and put customers on the back burner. Called to complain but couldn't get ahold of anyone. I guess it's B&B theatre and Alamo house from here on out. read more

I cringe to go to any other movie theatre in town. It is mainly due to the reclining seats. Also I have noticed the sound has been updated recently. I wish the IMAX theatre had recliners too. Great for IMAX, but other theaters definitely need a facelift. Adorned with pink curtains, old seats, and an old-person smell a complete renovation is needed. Tuesday special is $5 for regular movies, $7 for 3D and $9 for IMAX or IMAX 3D. They have bad popcorn though. Definitely would rather go to Hollywood downtown for half price Tuesdays and my refillable popcorn bucket! read more

Wow! Great theater. The seats are awesome. Electric recliners! Very clean and plenty of room between the rows of seats so if someone is reclined you can still walk down the aisle. Concessions had fresh popcorn and those fancy drink machines so everyone can get refills without standing in line. Of course it's pricey but all theaters are. This is defiantly the best AMC I have ever been in. read more

We love seeing movies here. The seats are roomy and comfortable. The people are very friendly. The only drawback is that they advertise popcorn in buckets but only have bags available. On top of that, they raised the price for popcorn. When you go to the movie with a family it is so much easier with a bucket. I hope they bring the bucket back. read more
