First time I went, was like 2004. It's amazing this place is still around and putting on quality shows so fucking good.

Great place to watch a band. Nice small venue, but big enough to enjoy a group outing.

The Riff - Framed Blondie poster

Went last night (9/24/25) to see 4 bands. Demon Hunter, War of Ages, Convictions and Cultist. The…read moreshow was amazing. Its a shame they had it in such a horrible venue. Bought tickets online and it stated the doors opened at 6 pm and show starts at 7 pm. Got there at 6:15 pm and were about 150 -200 ft from the entrance in line. It took till 7:15 to get to the door, in the rain. When we got to the door, we asked why the line was moving so ridiculously slow. They stated they were checking ID's. Its an all ages show. Instead of scanning tickets (the ones with the barcode), they were looking it up by name. Then, they stated anyone under 21 had to pay a $5 minor charge! No mention of this on the website, tickets or venue info. Just an outright money grab. Could have made some points up by foregoing the $5 and saying sorry we made you wait in the rain for an hour and miss the beginning of the show. Instead, we got attitude from the meat head working the counter. Be aware that this was a Christian music concert, so between sets the venue blared gangster rap with vulgar lyrics, knowing full well there were children in the crowd. Just absolutely classless. Won't be returning to this venue.

One of the only places to see any type of sizable event in Springfield and they've had and continue…read moreto have good shows here. That being said this place has some pretty big issues, at least to me. Their sound system sucks. Plain and simple. I went once and the building's PA system that they were speaking over was popping and cracking like a piece of wet firewood. I thought, "Surely they'll get that fixed before the next show, because that was no good." The next time I went to an event almost 6 months later they hadn't replaced the system and the speakers actually went out about 15 minutes into the show. Which pretty much ruined the whole night. Another time I was at a show there and went to the bathroom on the first floor. Every urinal and stall was taken but one. I opened the door and it looked like someone had backed into the stall after eating eating 50 Exlax laced White Castle Sliders and washed down with a couple of gallons of coffee and had their ass explode. It was one of the 3 nastiest things I've ever seen in person. I swear that the toilet had been filled to overflowing with crap and it was on the floor and walls of the stall. I didn't know that a single human being could hold that much feces. Either that or someone was running through the bathroom with a 5 gallon bucket of chilli, tripped, and dumped the contents into the toilet. At any rate, ever since that night the first floor men's bathroom at the Shrine Mosque no longer exists in my mind. It has been edited out of my universe. I realize that this was an isolated incident, but it was horrible. If I could have given 2.5 stars I would have, but it's not bad enough for 2 stars.

This building houses the Abou Ben Adhem Shriners which I am a member of. Where I understand a lot…read moreof people do not understand what the Shriners do, I'm not going to explain a whole lot of it here but would love to explain it to you if you have any questions and will also provide a link at the end of this to help explain more about that. The Shrine Mosque was built in 1923 and in 1982 was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Besides Shriner events it houses tons of other concerts and events. It almost seems that there is something going on every weekend there. I just helped out for the past two weekends as a clown at the Shrine Circus. It is a very unique old building that several of our past Presidents have visited and Elvis Presley even played. At the time it was built it was the largest Shrine west of the Mississippi and it's stage size was only second to the Metropolitan Opera stage in New York City. The main auditorium seating is right under 5,000 people with a basement area that other events are held at that can seat over 1,500. So next time you find your self at a concert, circus, or the "Vines at the Shrine" make sure you look up, around, and take in all of the nostalgia that makes this building a old gem in our city. oh ya, if you are curious about what the Shriners do and where we came from, here's a good link or you are welcome to just ask me... http://www.abashrine.com/info.htm

It's a great place to study, if you don't need silence, or to hang out with friends. I enjoy the dim lighting and background music that seems to be a hallmark of this location. The baristas do a great job and are fast. This last time I stopped by I tried a s'mores inspired latte and overall I thought it was great. The marshmallow flavored cold foam wasn't quite what I was expecting, but after mixing it all up a bit it was very good.

Barracuda roast. The other drip available was breakfast and I'm not a fan of the citrus in breaksfast blends so Barracuda it was. I found it to be a bit citrusy on the backend as well but it was smooth so I managed They do make an espresso concentrate for iced drinks but you can ask for hot espresso freshly made and they will accommodate you. She says it's still good but she prefers the fresh espresso and forgot to ask for it. The niece is a vegetarian so I can't speak to any menu items with meat. The margherita flat bread is some kind of good. They spread pesto on a naan flat bread, add sliced fresh mozzarella, fresh Roma tomatoes and a balsamic drizzle. Heavenly. The niece loves the hummus with naan. It was ok to me. A little sharper and more garlicky than I prefer, but still good. Did I mention that the margherita flat bread is amazing??? I'm 55. I love classic rock. The music is top tier. Staff was friendly and the place is very clean with booths, tables and high top seating.
