Cordia is a wonderful place!…read more Our culture is such that mothers expect to remain in the house of one of their daughters until their death, however my house has stairs and is too dangerous for my mom. She was resistant to being anywhere but with family so moving her to Cordia produced a lot of anxiety for her. Thankfully, the wonderful staff at Cordia - from the lobby workers to the maintenance workers to the amazing dining room staff - all worked their magic to make her feel treasured and safe. Personally, I see that the staff at Cordia are very satisfied working with the senior residents there. I engage in conversations with them and am grateful for their kindness and respect for the residents and for each other. Cordia has a wonderful line-up of daily activities and they also have special activities for holidays. I'm super pleased to see my mom engaging in different activities that she never had done before Cordia. For example, I used to try to have her do chair workouts with me but she had always refused. Now at Cordia, she's down in the workout room at least 3 times a week!!! I think Cordia has given her new life! She was always very anxious about food owing to issues with onions and other spices, but has had no problems at all since at Cordia. She loves their food! I'm very, very pleased with Cordia. I let her know how I resolved my near year long issue- by contacting Tonya's boss directly and working with him through deposit return. Be advised that this place will hang on to your deposit money as long as they can, after your loved one passes or moves.

It has a large living room, bedroom with walk-in closet, full kitchen with range/oven, full size fridge, dishwasher and microwave, and a bathroom. There is also a stackable washer/dryer. The staff is very attentive. The nurse noticed that that she was not taking her medications at the right time, and informed me right away. They also alert me when she need additional medication. The staff is very polite and they communicate well. The activities are setup like a cruise ship; there are lots of things to do with others if you like social events, but you can stay in your room if you'd like. In addition to weekly trips to the grocery / drug stores, there are also special events like concerts at North Central College, a movie on site every Sunday in the Great room, and Wii Bowling tournaments. In December, the residents took a bus into downtown Chicago for lunch in the Walnut Room at Macy's and a Christmas concert right after. The food is varied and tastes good. Residents can choose from a Deli/Cafe, Bar/Lounge, or formal sit-down restaurant foe their meal choices, and meals are included in the monthly fee. The campus is great for walking, especially once the weather warms up. There are walking paths with benches, so it's easy to get some exercise or find an isolated spot to read a book. There are gazebos outside the restaurant so dining al fresco is an option. All in all, it's a good fit for mom. She has plenty of opportunities for interaction and she is enjoying her time there.

When my grandmother was in transition, she displayed the following symptoms which included an inability to eat, inability to move, inability to take medication, inability to speak, and inability to open her eyes. She was on her deathbed which was provided by Hospice. Somebody named Donna stated to me "Your grandmother is not in transition, and therefore you are not allowed to spend the night with your grandmother." At 2:20AM that very night, my grandmother passed away. HarborChase does not adhere to what they communicate to their members. This is a place of dishonesty.

Exceptional Care and Compassion…read more Burgess Square Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center provided outstanding care for my father at every level. The administrative staff was professional, responsive, and compassionate, making a difficult time much easier to navigate. The nursing team treated my father with dignity, kindness, and genuine concern, while the PT/OT staff were knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in his progress. The social worker was invaluable--guiding our family through care planning and next steps with clarity and empathy. The facility was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well organized, and communication with our family was excellent throughout. Entrusting a loved one's care is never easy, but Burgess Square earned our complete confidence. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking exceptional rehabilitation and senior care.

My mom, Ina, spent 16 years of living with me and my husband (in her own space), and we needed a…read morebreak. After much research, I chose Evergreen Senior Living. It started out to be just a two-week respite period, but upon consulting with people in my life who I hold in high regard, it was recommended to make it permanent. This did not bode well with her, but we proceeded and moved her in July of 2022. Best decision EVER. It took a while for her to acclimate, but within a short period, she adapted and became quite popular with residents and staff. I affectionally call it "the Resort", because if they had a pool, I'd have moved in! The grounds are lovely and well maintained, as is the interior. Clean public restrooms, no odor, well-furnished and esthetically appealing. The dining room is very inviting and well-kempt and staff is very accommodating The staff is personable, caring, attentive and kind. There are a multitude of activities every day and weekly outings outside of the Resort, including dining out, shopping and the casino! My mom had to check her calendar to see if she was "available" for me to visit. They also have a salon for haircuts, styles, etc. as well as offering manicures on a weekly basis. There is transportation available every Tuesday and Thursday for residents to attend medical, dental and eye appointments. They also host events for families a couple times a year (summer picnic and Holiday luncheon) and they're very well attended. I'd be remiss not to mention "Happy Hour" every Friday at 3:30. :-) Green Tree is their pharmacy and can supply all of your loved one's medications pre-portioned, packaged and covered by Medicare. The meds can be self-administered or by the nursing staff, depending on the resident's capability and family preference. The use of Green Tree is not a requirement. ESL also has in-house PT/OT staff and equipment on the premise (also available to Legacy residents). They are wonderful and patient. They want to see the residents be comfortable, strong and thrive and will do all they can to make that happen. The nursing staff is on-point, as I received calls late at night if my mom was having an issue. My mom was hospitalized on January 8, 2026 and diagnosed with Flu A virus. She remained there for 10 days and sent to a skilled nursing facility (SNF), from which she was discharged on February 20. We moved her back to her own apartment at ESL under hospice care. She passed away on March 8 at the age of 90 1/2. Between residents and staff, it was like a parade in her apartment. Everyone was so incredibly supportive, it left me speechless. I have been back a couple of times and plan to do so at least once a month to visit with the friends we made there, both residents and staff. I have and will recommend Evergreen to anyone looking for an assisted living or memory care facility for their loved ones. Thank you ALL for what you do. Susan
