Holis, a kind and patient, very bright and resourcefull aide came in and identified the problems. He quickly resolved the issue and then patiently explained to the resident how to operate the TV with multiple remotes and multiple apps until she felt comfortable operating it on her own. That is a great example of staff caring and dedication to enriching and empowering their residents. It was heartwarming to see.

Her support gave us time to concentrate on other issues because we knew her research and suggestions would be the best decision for our needs. I have worked in the past with other 'free' services, but never received the true support that Dawn provides. I feel it is worth it to 'hire' someone rather than engage the free services if you want your loved ones living in the right place for them. Mom was welcomed from the moment we arrived with a welcome sign and a lovely plant and staff coming by to greet her and introduce her to others. They made her feel special, like they were waiting for her to arrive. My Mom lived at Sunrise the last few months of her life. It was hard to have her move out of our home, but Sunrise couldn't have been more wonderful to her. It offered her a nice social life, my Mom was always the life of the party! She enjoyed her friends and finally engaged in a sport, Balloon Volleyball (I think the first sport activity she ever did as an adult). My Mom loved to eat out in restaurants and the dining room was run like a restaurant with a multitude of items to order. The food is good and they were accommodating with special requests. When my grandmother was in transition, she displayed the following symptoms which included an inability to eat, inability to move, inability to take medication, inability to speak, and inability to open her eyes. She was on her deathbed which was provided by Hospice. Somebody named Donna stated to me "Your grandmother is not in transition, and therefore you are not allowed to spend the night with your grandmother." At 2:20AM that very night, my grandmother passed away. HarborChase does not adhere to what they communicate to their members. This is a place of dishonesty.
