Time to paid the bill and he quoted me over 200.00. I told the technician that I was quoted 159.00. He said because it was a front loader it was 189.00 plus tax. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a women and a senior citizen. I will never call or do business with Marc's appliances again. I don't like being cheated.

My experience was classic bait and switch. Ordered a 48" range online at an excellent (but not…read moreunique) price, website claimed it was in stock and that I would need to pick it up at their West Hartford warehouse. Got a confirmation E-mail stating order would be "processed once payment was confirmed" (odd, since CC payments are generally automated these days). Next day, I got what appeared to be an automated E-mail (no name or phone number, DoNotReply sender) stating that their "policy" was that I would need to come to their store in person to confirm identity & credit card, and that the item was a special order (not in stock after all, I guess!). Since it's a 4-hour drive each way, going there twice defeats the purpose of an online order... When I called to try to clear things up, "Jack" told me the item was not in stock and that there appeared to be a pricing error (more alarm bells start up in my head). After consulting with his manager, he did call me back, to tell me that the part number is not on the Kitchenaid site, so they can't even order it, and they don't have it in stock. I just went back on their site, and they still list that exact part number listed (KFID948SJP), but at a much, much higher price, of course. When I expressed my displeasure and asked to speak to a manger, it went to voice mail. The only excuse offered was "the website is pretty automated". I get that mistakes happen, but reputable stores make some effort to make it right with the customer. A retail store is responsible for their advertised pricing.

The dryer also scorched an expensive comforter and now requires multiple cycles just to dry a normal load. I contacted SK Lavery several times and spoke with Tiffany. While she did schedule a service call (for a brand‑new machine), she made it clear that I was expected to deal with Speed Queen directly. SK Lavery delivered a defective product yet refused to take ownership or provide real support. This is not the SK Lavery I once trusted. They may sell high‑end appliances, but they do not stand behind them. Once they have your money, you're on your own. This situation could have been handled easily if SK Lavery had taken responsibility instead of shifting the burden onto the customer. Until they change course, I strongly recommend staying away--there are plenty of reputable high‑end appliance dealers who still value accountability and customer service.

Over the years, and three kids later, we'd settled for subpar units. The kind you throw away, instead of repair. Well, 39 yrs later we came back to Vacuums Unlimited and were not disappointed with the amazing customer service! Adam's expert knowledge and friendly disposition helped us settle on the perfect Miele vacuum for our home. We were also impressed with the love and admiration he has for his father (original owner) who passed in recent years. Family owned businesses like this are becoming a rarity. Highly recommend this business if you're looking for excellent customer service.

(9/2023) I would give VU zero stars but it isn't an option…read more I explained my central vac didn't have adequate suction from the hose, I checked all outlets, and the main machine and changed the bag, and all seemed fine. The hose is less than 2 years old. I further explained I thought the hose was clogged as I have pets. and without the hose in the outlet, the suction seemed fine. We set up an appt., and when they didn't show I called (I think the owner) he said he was waiting for a new hose to come in. I again explained I didn't believe I needed a new hose as (it is less than 2 yrs old) and probably clogged. I made another appt. I inquired about the cost he explained the call would go toward any new parts, even though I didn't believe I would need new parts (such as a hose). He said the first hour would be $100 and it shouldn't take more than that based on my description. I should have quit at this point but they have generally good reviews therefore I made a 2nd appt. The repairman showed up with a small gadget to check the suction on the outlets which took maybe 20 min. I again said I thought the hose was clogged so he used the tiny suction tool on the hose and some of the clog came out. I asked given the length of the hose (40ft) how could he ensure the clog wasn't in the middle and what he would do to see where the clog was. Ignoring my question, he went out to his car to talk to his boss, on my dime. When he came back in he went back to repeat the initial sequence of tests, a total waste of my time and money. When the initial hour was about to pass, I said something but he said he had to do it this way and went outside to call his boss again, by the time he made his 2 phone calls, and repeated all the same steps twice even though he knew at this point it was a clog in the hose the bill was $217.70. It worked a little better for 48 hours and then stopped working again as clearly the problem wasn't resolved. I promised I would never use this place again, after getting ripped off, and trying to sell me a new hose I didn't need, drawing out the diagnosis with the wrong tool, and then not completing the removal of the clog. I certainly wasn't going to incur additional costs. I didn't want to even engage I was so aggrevated. Therefore I spread out the hose (all 40 Ft) and with the advice learned from GOOGLE and YouTube, my son and I unclogged the hose with a snake and figured out exactly where the clog was located, as suspected in the middle of the 40 ft hose. It works great now. No thanks to Vacuums Unlimited. They are NOT honest brokers and use deceptive practices. I do not recommend this place to anyone!
