We are in the process of getting our house ready to sell. One of the things that had to happen was to get rid of the gross 20 year old "white" carpet. American Flooring was recommended to us by a friend who is a builder as having honest, and knowledgeable staff. We worked with Doug and Jeremy. Both were more than willing to answer questions but never tried any high pressure sales tactics. They always gave us time to search the store but were always available if needed. They even measure your home for free if you want even if you are self installing. Best of all the floor we bought was exactly what we wanted and looks fantastic. read more

My 3rd time have a project need to be done with American Flooring and all I can tell is we are so happy to have them done our projects from carpet to vinyl planking. We had new carpet done for living room & our kids room last year and early this year . Vinyl planking is for our kitchen just yesterday. Just want to say thank you to Jeremy, Shayne, Ted and to all the contractors that did the projects for us. You guys are great and doing really good job. Dishonest. Salesman added a bunch of fees beyond what was quoted over the phone after it was ordered. Very disorganized to boot.

Loved the owner, Doug, and both the carpet (forgot his name) and the LVT installer, Jacob, were awesome. Great experience.

We had American Flooring in Holt do our whole house flooring about a year and a half ago. They have a great selection and the salesperson we worked with was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. We were getting our kitchen tiled and wood (bamboo) put throughout the rest of the house. A huge job! They were great working with us in helping us select a product to fit our budget. We had two different sets of installers (two guys did the kitchen tiles, then another set of guys for the wood). The installers were also removing our old flooring and all the furniture / appliances out of the way. They were all careful with our stuff, worked fast, and did a great job. They cleaned up everything when done, and generally did good work without cutting corners. I'd definitely recommend them for your flooring needs. Better service and installation than you'd get at a big-box store (which I'll never use again based on past projects), and is a local company. I only removed one star because I did later find the product we ordered for a cheaper price elsewhere so should have done more research as I think A.F. would have given me a better price if I had pointed that out. read more

Zero stars if it will let me - went in over 6 months ago and looked at flooring for 3 jobs - had installer come out to measure ( 2 people ) and have had to follow up over and over with my "sales " rep Paul Zumberg - horrible communication skills and could care weather you get your job done or not. Just wanted an answer so we could get my project going and when I asked why I cannot even get the courtesy of a call return call ( after 3 attempts had to go into the store ) he said we are not a good fit -wasted mine and everyone's time - I asked to speak to a manger .. she could not even stop eating her lunch to address my concerns and try to remedy the problem ? horrible service DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!! read more

Wouldn't recommend. Worked with Ted and Shane from American Flooring. Products offered are nice, but services are below standards. Took about three weeks just to get an estimate from this company. The person who came out to measure tacked on about 30% more square footage than actual square footage. When asked why measurements were so off, we were told perhaps they couldn't read their own hand-writing. So, thousands of dollars at my expense. We wanted to stay with a local, family-owned business because we wanted to support local instead of Menards, Lowes, etc. We were promised the quote later that night (after measurements were taken); didn't receive the quote for about a week after. Once we received, we followed-up with questions (overestimation, no baseboard trim included in the quote like we requested). Took days for them to respond. When promised a call later back that day to discuss, nothing. This was a large job but evidently, wasn't worth their time. Again, if you just want the job done, you're better off going with a home improvement store. American Flooring just wasn't professional enough to earn this job. read more

My husband and I visited the store in Holt to look at wood flooring. The salesman could not answer our questions, and seemed very nervous. There was another salesman in the store, but he was on his cell phone the entire time we were in the store. It was basically a waste of our time shopping there, and we purchased from another store. read more

My husband and I learned more about their laminate selection from reading the description cards than from our salesperson, who we saw for maybe a total of five minutes in the hour we were there, despite there being only one other customer in the store the entire time. Their prices are not competitive enough to compensate for their lack of expertise and eagerness to help, and for the most part we found the store pretty unorganized. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company in 2013 when I bought carpet and laminate. The initial first impression was good, but the rest of the experience was horrible. Upon installation, they didn't order enough carpet to cover my floors. This was right before my sons first birthday party and we had our main hallway with just the tack strips and padding at his party which is a safety hazard. They also didn't put down plywood originally in the kitchen and bathroom before they installed the laminate and they had to redo the laminate because you could see the old floor pattern texture through the new flooring. The owner Doug told me to call or text him if I had any questions and when I did, he got a little snippy with me after I kept contacting him with issues. They fixed everything after two weeks of hassle but made a fuss saying that I got a deal because they ended losing money on the sale since they had to redo the laminate. I now have a 2400 sq feet house with a full basement that needs flooring throughout and I know that I will definitely NOT be coming here. read more

We ordered 3 large rooms of carpeting from American, it was great until we started calling for times and with questions. They either didn't answer the phone or wouldn't return our calls. Finally after weeks of this, and threatening to cancel, we got some results. The most difficult, rude and non-caring people I have ever dealt with. If you need carpet, don't buy from American Flooring. read more
