My wife & I ordered takeout from American Flatbread on a Sunday around 5pm. First, the lady who took my order was super friendly so first impressions were positive. She took my phone number and told me I would receive a text when my pizzas were ready (we ordered a 12" homemade sausage pizza and 12" medicine wheel pizza - pictured). She estimated 25 minutes, and that was pretty spot-on. I received a text about 25 minutes later that my pizzas were ready. My wife and I each enjoyed our pizzas. My pizza didn't 'travel' well in the box (as shown), but it was tasty! This is definitely a flatbread pizza, not a thin crust. It holds up well with the cheese and sauce they use; a very nice balance of flavors. (Note: Expect grease - being that it's a thin flat bread, there's no where for the grease from the cheese blend to go/get absorbed. That didn't bother me but I can see how some people would be put-off by that.) Overall, I'd say this is a solid pizza - it's not going to blow your mind, but it'd definitely be good for hangovers or when you have a general hankering for a za.

American Flatbread opened only three weeks ago, taking over the space and many of the assets of the previous inhabitant, Dover Forge. We had a really good experience! 5 stars for location, atmosphere, service, and food. Our server was super warm and friendly, and other servers pitched in to help. We each ordered the basic salad and added tons of vegetables. And we shared a delicious pizza with carmelized onions and mushrooms. The pizza crust, sauce, and cheese were all top-notch, and getting something baked from that humongous oven was a treat! My only suggestion for improvement is the beer/wine selection. There is no printed beer/wine list ("because it's always changing"), only a beer board and no wine list. Spouse tried three beers, none of which was any good in our opinion. She finally settled on a maple stout dark beer which was good but sweet. I was surprised to experience this given the amazing availability of world class beers in Vermont. I had a Pinot noir wine with a generous pour which I appreciate. It was from Chile and costs $6 retail, good for quaffing with pizza. If you are looking for memorable wines and beers, this may not be the place to go. I'd like to see effort put into curating so any choice is great! Summary: best pizza in the area no question, with great atmosphere and service. We'll definitely return!

Great salads, pizzas and service. We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed our food and watching the pizza making process. It was cozy and warm in front of the big pizza oven. Will be back!

This brewery is perched on the side of a mountain with one of the best views of the valley below. For a travel day during the winter travel season it was busy but not overly full. The place is cash only which is posted and they have an atm in the front room for ease. The mountain rustic decor matches the place and area. There was counter service for food and drinks. They had both canned cocktails, wine and locally made beers to sample. The beer selection is great if you like IPA's. We ordered two pizzas and both came out quickly from their in room wood fired oven and were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you're traveling near by or during leaf peeping season

Firstly I will say they did have a sign saying cash only, but do have an ATM for those without any. It is also a place you sit yourself and then order at the bar. It is located at an absolutely beautiful scenic view and they do have some outside seating so you can have a brew and pizza with a nice view! Beer wise I enjoyed their All Day Drinker and it was a light and crushable brew with more malt than hops shining through. My wife got their lemon drop sour which was refreshing with a hint of tartness. They also had a cider as well as some IPAs and non-alcoholic options too. Pizza wise they had a good variety of options including some not so traditional choices. The prices ranged from cheese being $20 and going up to $25 for the most. Those not interested in pizza are out of luck unless the one salad sounds good to them though I will say. Since we had 6 people in our group we ended up choosing 4 different pizzas. Our selections were Meatiator (think meat lovers), Potato Pie (mashed potatoes, bacon, sour cream, etc), Honey Apple Pie (honey, apple slices, cheeses, bacon, ricotta, basil), and lastly Okie Dokie Artichoke (garlic oil, lemon marinated artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, sausage, cheese, and red pepper flakes). It gave us a really good variety and like I said above our whole party enjoyed the pizzas. Had a great cook to it, with lots of toppings that packed in lots of flavor. The Okie Dokie may have been the crowd favorite while the Honey Apple Pie was the most surprising flavor. Leaned towards sweet with the honey and apples but wasn't quite dessert pizza. Great spot to come for a pizza and beer/drink while also taking in the nearby view!

The food came out quickly and was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. You can tell this is a place that's well run and cares about its customers. But what truly set TC's apart was Lauren, the manager. After our visit, my young son accidentally left behind a backpack that holds a lot of sentimental value to us. Lauren personally took the time to locate it and then mailed it back to us in New Jersey at no charge. That level of thoughtfulness and care is incredibly rare and meant so much to our family. We will absolutely be back anytime we're in the area, and we can't recommend TC's highly enough -- not just for the food, but for the people. This is how you create lifelong customers. This little New England restaurant, though, still had first-come, first-serve seating, and parking lot a bit crowded but found a spot at a corner to park. They originally had a 2hr wait for 14 ppl (we had a few tables ahead of us) but ended up giving us two tables if we were ok to cram together, which we were - super grateful for that! Didn't realize it before we went, but this shop was Kelly Clark's parents' restaurant, and the memorabilia was cool. Cheap beers and drinks, wings were ok (wings needed to be crispier and have more spicy buffalo sauce, the bbq version was just ok). The chowder was thinner compared to Anchor Seafood down the way, and the tuna nachos were ok (on light puffed rice chips w/ some seaweed salad to the side, mayo or similar across the top could've been better with some yuzu or ponzu sauce instead). Fried pickles were large and great, though, as were the fried cheese and pretzels. The truffle cheese fries were heavy but still needed more cheese and table didn't enjoy it as much. St. Louis Ribs were ok, but the Short Rib Stroganoff and the Lobster Mac N' Cheese were table favorites - and warmed up really well the next day with the generous portion helping balance the cost as it was basically two meals in one. Game and fun bathroom signs in the waiting area upfront. Staffers were busy but definitely worked to satisfy our tables' orders and needs and kept cheery while at it. Very tight seating spaces so make a note if you're on the bigger side, it may not be as comfortable depending on the seat you get. A bit spendier (there's food tax, LWB tax, and town tax...) but no credit card surcharge. Overall I'm giving this a 4 star b/c of the service. Food I've had better, but service was very helpful.

Yup, a bar/club that usually sees the likes of smaller cover bands and local DJs managed to lock down Rusted Root! Not only that, but our $25 general admission tickets got us as close as 5 feet away from the stage of this cozy venue. Despite the sellout crowd (thank goodness we bought in advance), the bar wasn't overly packed. We were able to snag reasonably-priced drinks throughout the night and groove back to the dance floor for the three hours they were on stage. Bartenders were overwhelmed but friendly, and drink prices ($5-8) weren't overly "taxed." If you're staying at either the Snow Lake Lodge or the Lodge at Mount Snow, Snow Barn is just a short walk away. If staying elsewhere, you can catch the free MOOver (http://www.moover.com) shuttle, but be warned that their service stops at 5pm. From reading the recent negative reviews, it's a shame to hear that Snow Barn has perhaps gone downhill from the times we visited. Again, we went for the concert, so if you're in the same camp, I'd suggest you check the music calendar (http://mountsnow.com/livemusic) and plan your visit accordingly. At the very least, you can always enjoy a bit of history...The Snow Barn used to be Reuben Snow's barn, who owned the base-area land. After the land was purchased by Walt Schoenknecht in the 50s, it was converted into a ski lodge before being once again converted into the bar/club it is today.

Looking for a spot to grab food and a beer this looked to the perfect spot. They are a dog friendly establishment so dog owners can know. Food wise they offered a variety of pizzas, burgers, fries, and other sandwiches. Beer wise was a little disappointing for our visit considering everything on draft was an IPA with a can option of a porter. I enjoy IPAs and know how popular the style is but at least have a couple other options available at all times. Can never go wrong with a light lager or pilsner and even a sour as well. Drink wise I grabbed The Magic Carpet Ride that was a Session IPA at 5% that packed a lot of flavor for the low ABV and my wife even liked it as a non-IPA fan. She grabbed the porter and thought it was alright but nothing memorable and not the best style for warm summer weather at times. Food wise she got their Luigi (grilled chicken sandwich) while I got their OG Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken). Her sandwich was good while mine was tasty yet one side of it tasted burnt and had a slight unpleasant taste to it. The sauce on it was really tasty though. We also split their cheesy bacon fries and they were loaded with bacon and cheese. The biggest knock was the fries themselves were cold from the start. Would likely pass on them next time. The overall vibe of the place was nice, had a rustic cabin woodsy feel to it as you'd expect for rural Vermont. The music being played though was tropical and it was a nice unexpected surprise. They had both inside and outside seating, outside was a little bit of a miss with the road being so close and noise of traffic. We did prefer inside overall. They also had many games you could play, a pool table, shuffleboard, and card/board games too. Overall I would say the food and beers knocked it down by one star but still worth visiting! Great vibes just not our favorite brewery.
