All of the plumbers we've worked with have been knowledgeable and great, and Regina who answers the phones always gets back to my quickly (noting they do not provide 24/7 emergency services - but that's clear on their website and they tell you upfront). They've descaled our tankless water heater, double checked how it was set up by the previous plumbing company, connected a tub overflow drain that was just draining into the space between floors and dripping down out of a heating vent to the first floor (aka it wasn't ever connected when the tub was installed before we were involved), and more. I also really appreciate how their staff is willing to take the time for me to watch them and learn - I knew nothing about plumbing and have learned so much. They also have taken ownership of some small mistakes - just stuff like once someone came out to I thought descale our tankless water heater but he thought he was just assessing it - and they didn't charge me for that visit and came back as soon as it fit into my schedule. Since things like that happen and everyone is doing their best, I really appreciate companies like Avalon that just say whoops sorry, let's see how we can fix this. They also all are totally willing to wear shoe covers and masks when inside our house, are tidy and communicative, and just generally nice people to be around - which we haven't found to be the case with all other companies in this field. Horrible experience Glosage Engineering was contracted by…read morethe local sewer district to replace the main sewer line (not the lateral), trenchless. There is a utility easement along the property line, so no problem giving them access. They gave us a description of what they are going to do, and that seemed fine. However, reality looked much different. First they placed the line further into our property than planned. Then they excavated a huge hole, digging plants out and cutting irrigation lines. Next they decided to actually pull the new line across our entire property, damaging more plants and ripping out sprinkler heads and rocks embedded in the slope to prevent soil erosion. I pointed all these things out to Glosage's foreman and they promised to take care of it. Nope. They filled the hole, haphazardly put the tree back in the ground (not even streight) and just took off. I called them and the sewer district, nothing ever came out of it. The sewer district admitted that they had issues with that contractor and many complaints. I ended up spending a couple of hours and some spare parts from Home Depot to put things back in order. So my gentle advice: Be very careful with these guys!

I just had P & R Septic Systems evaluate and repair a problem with my septic system. They found…read morethat there were roots blocking the line from the tank to the leach field and they were able to repair it quickly. They also discovered some minor damage to the outflow fitting on the septic tank and are going to repair it after I have the tank pumped. They put a cleanout on the line to the leach field too. The whole experience was easy and as enjoyable as a septic repair could be. The crew was pleasant to work with, extremely skilled and when they were done it was like it never happened. Great communication, they show up when they say they will and they seem to enjoy their profession. Highly recommended.

I hired Mauro and his team for a water heater replacement…read more I found him previously for a pipe replacement project last year and was very impressed. Given the complexity of this job, I wanted to make sure it was done right. Communication was excellent. Mauro was able to come by for an estimate within a few days, and from there, his office crew helped me plan and schedule the work. Additionally, they handled the permit and inspection coordination. They were able to schedule the work within two weeks, which was fine given that this wasn't an emergency. For this gas to heat pump conversion, it was necessary to vent both the intake and exhaust. This presents a number of challenges like making vent holes, running ducts, and making sure everything is air tight. Jose and his team were absolutely awesome. They take pride in their work. The team is friendly and patient, and takes the time to break down what they're doing and why, as well as any hiccups and adjustments that have to be made. I cannot tell you how great it is to have a professional you can trust, who also respects you and your property. This was a complex job and they made it look great, fit the space, and work as needed. A plumber isn't something you hope you need very often, but should anything come up, I'll definitely be calling Mauro's Plumbing again.
