ACVL has since filed ch 11 and we will never be reimbursed for our missing/stolen items; broken/damaged cargo and failure to complete their end of the contract. We paid for a service and they refused to refund any portion of the incomplete services. Not only have they refused; they failed to communicate when and where our items were. They also failed to identify that we had two different cargo stickers on our items so the remaining items are missing/stolen/lost. Our bins were rifled through along with bulk items that were taken. They also failed to communicate with us on using brokers and omitted info on the electronic contract. They also misrepresented the veteran status. These guys will do anything to "cash and dash" by demanding cash and dump items without completing the service they were hired to do per contract. By the way, Noble and ACVL are working together --just never know which company you are talking to when calling. Last week, we got a call from Joe at Noble/ACVL and offered $600 out of the kindness of his heart and to sign an NDA. Here's the deal, we don't know Joe's position or his last name with the company; who is authorized to pay out monies and what's not to say they commit another scam. Nightmare!! AVOID this SCAM operation! Please do not get lured in. Read all the 1 star reviews and see the pattern. My 25 year old son and his girlfriend became a victim just like all the others. Friendly "professional-sounding" salesperson hooks you in with low deposit, then BAIT & SWITCH on pick-up day -- double the price and they use a different company (AMERICAN EAGLE RELOCATION) and a 3rd company (NOBLE MOVING & STORAGE) for a contract which is different than original plus what is told to you by American Choice salesperson initially. (i.e.: boxes need to be all the same size, no pillows and blankets in plastic bags, no plastic bins, cubic feet is double, etc). American Choice told us 3-7 days, but it turned out to be a long and frustrating 21 days with a lot of stress and horrible communication. American Eagle Relocation guys showed up with truck (said his name was Tony Perez) -- immediately says it is over the cubic feet amount and it will be an extra $1800 -- which was double the original quote. I looked up their name and saw all the bad reviews with similar experience. My husband started measuring and we called our son (who was already en route to final destination) what could be left behind to reduce cubic feet. After a few minutes Tony walks away by truck and comes back and says he spoke to his boss and they will take everything for an extra $1,000. I asked what is your boss name? He said "David." I asked what is his last name. Tony says "I don't know." We finally agree to have the take everything for extra $1,000 and next Tony says its 5% extra for credit card, so I stupidly wrote a check for $1,200 (not even sure why now $1200 because I was so frazzled) and then when I was given a copy of receipt, it was not legible. On day of delivery another 4th team of movers tried to get more $$$ from my son by saying the semi truck would not fit on street and they would need a uHaul. They also tried to say they would charge extra for a few steps. Many sentimental things were broken. Extremely distressing experience. All 4 moving companies involved are complicit in this scam! Even worse, they do not maintain an organized inventory of your items, making it nearly impossible to track what was loaded or delivered. We were proactive--we placed AirTags in several large items and alerted their customer service team before the truck left that some were missing. They insisted everything was on the truck. Update: The mover called me 10 miles from my house and said he couldn't get in my neighborhood, interesting because when I hired them, they said they deliver to The Villages Florida all the time, and there are tractor trailer trucks all over the place moving people in, including my street! He wanted $690 to rent a U-Haul, I told him I would leave work and rent one, he met me in a parking lot and when I arrived, he wanted $200 more for me being late, can you imagine that!! After they loaded the U-Haul, they wanted $500 to come back to my house to unload it, I told him no way and he said how about $300 cash and I'll send one of my movers back with you, so I had no choice and I had to unload the furniture Along with one of their movers, isn't that why you hire a moving company? Then when I paid him via Zelle, he said he did not get my payment so I sent it again to a different address, he said he got that payment, in the meantime, I called my bank and they said both transactions went through when I asked him to return the duplicate payment, he said take it up with the company. I've been fighting for two months to get my money back, I had to file a police report, contacted the Department of transportation, the FBI, and the attorney general in New Jersey. This has been the biggest nightmare of my life, had I known all of this I would've rented a U-Haul and driven down to Florida myself and hired some people to help me unload it. This move occurred at the end of 2024, but I could not close out this chapter of my life without publicly sharing my negative experience. I had already emailed the so-called company my grievances but little effort was made to address, much less remedy any of my below concerns: 1. I was told that my total charge included up to 2000 lbs (not by square foot) and I could add any additional items up to 2000 lbs (which I did not). However, supposedly some of my boxes were "too small" so they had to be re-boxed into larger wardrobe boxes in which I was charged for the boxing material and the subsequent "additional square footage". 2. My previously stated number of suitcases could not be moved unless shrink wrapped- which of course incurred additional material charges which Jerry (at this point I assume is a sales representative) failed to mention in our 2 hour initial phone call. 3. During the whole initial call with Jerry, I was assured that I would be working directly with one company (where Jerry was with the same company as the pick-up/delivery team). However after the fact, it sounded like Jerry was a sales agent (who no longer picked up the number he provided us), the pick-up was done by American Eagle Relocation, and the delivery was done by Delpro LLC; with all different crew members. 4. The pick-up with 3 American Eagle Relocation workers, was incredibly unprofessional. Out of curiosity, I had inquired about live plants which I was told could not be moved but then one of the workers commented that he could personally take my lemon tree if I didn't want it anymore (I certainly did not say that I no longer wanted my plant)! This same crew kept asking for tips in return for favors which made me feel so uncomfortable in that I started questioning if I did not tip- would my items get accidentally damaged or lost?! 5. I was also informed that my balance was due at delivery. Instead, I was told at pick-up that my balance was due right there and then. In addition, I was charged hundreds more for shrink wrap material and wardrobe size boxes/square footage because some of my boxes were "too small"! While I had signed for this, it was undoubtedly under duress because I felt like I would have been left stranded otherwise. Our moving experience with American Choice Vanlines was a total scam and we want to warn everyone of their fraudulent and unethical behavior.  We are a military family moving from CA to VA, and were originally quoted $15k for the move.  After declining this quote since we would not be reimbursed that much from the military, the sales rep John A. continued to call and eventually "negotiated" a contract within the expected military reimbursement of $11k.  He claimed the company would move us themselves, not broker out the job, and assured me the quote would not change as long as more items were not added to the move.  Three days before the move took place, the QA manager Michael called and within minutes of talking to him he said the estimate was wrong, we would need a bigger truck, and it would cost $16k.  We did not add any items, actually got rid of several large items that were on the inventory.  We had a timeline to meet so we had no choice but to accept the increase.  On the day of the move, the moving company (which was in fact brokered out to another company, despite what they told me), walked in and said they wouldn't touch anything because the estimate was too low and the move would actually cost $30k.  Again, no items were added to the inventory but they claimed "bulky and fragile" items are an upcharge.  I spent hours doing the initial inventory, measured all items, and disclosed everything.  At no point was I warned that our estimate would more than double because of fragile and bulky items.  I spoke with the manager, Sam, many times before accepting this contract, and she said my only options would be to sign the contract or leave half of our belongings behind.  Obviously this is not really a choice- we had to be out of the house at a certain time and we could not leave half of the house behind.   For claiming to be a "veteran owned company" that prides itself on taking care of military families, this should be a complete disgrace.  It was a bait and switch operation in which I was lured into signing the initial contract, paid thousands of dollars on a deposit, then the contract continued to increase until the day of the move when we now had no choice but to accept the move in order to meet our timeline and not be out of the $6k deposit we had already paid.  Trying to resolve these issues or reach anyone in upper management is impossible; they just closed this case without accepting any accountability or allowing me to speak to someone about these problems.  I truly wanted to resolve this without reaching this point but they've left me with no other option so I hope this can help prevent others from falling victim to such a scam moving company. read more

I was quoted a price for a move based on the description of items I provided. Lloyd assured me that there would be room for more if needed, specifically stating "such as a bed and some extra boxes." The deposit was paid, and I was informed that the remaining balance would be paid in cash to the driver upon arrival, as they don't accept credit cards. The other half would be paid upon delivery. During the week, my daughter received a call and informed them of all the items she had for pick-up. There was no mention of any extra cost on any of those calls; they responded with "not a problem." I contacted Lloyd, and a woman picked up, asked for my number, and transferred me to a customer service supervisor. The supervisor asked what the problem was, and I explained the situation. She then asked to speak to the driver and claimed that the additional items warranted the extra charges. I explained that based on what Lloyd shared on our initial call, we were not surpassing the initially agreed-upon items. She did not budge or provide any customer service whatsoever. Upon pick-up, the head guy glanced at the furniture and said, "Too big." Every piece of furniture was "too big" so they DOUBLED the price. I couldn't afford that, so I left 1/2 the furniture home. They kept it in storage 1 month free (like they said they would), but they TRIPLED the next month, which was only two weeks. They are LIARS. Lied about not using multiple trucks. My items were moved twice. During this items were broken and damaged. They true to super glue an arm rest that they broke. I ended up getting super glue all over my hands when the arm rest fell off. Chair was two moths old and very expensive. Very dishonest. Damaged and broken furniture. Lost items. I called every other day after my items were not delivered on my guarantees date. I got the run around for two weeks. Not knowing where my items were and when they would be delivered. Very sickening. John can say this isn't true but recordings don't lie. I went with this company because of John's word. I over estimated the amount of items I had when we went through the initial inventory list. I ended up having approximately less. The delivery driver tried to uncharged me $650 because he felt I had more. I told him to look at his list of my items and he will see I have less. On 15 Nov 24 I was introduced to a company online who wanted to move me from NC to VA. Danny Welsh, customer service for American Way Moving Co. talked to me. He assured me that they had the right truck for my household. When they came, it was so much different. I got a 4 person family of 2 boys and an older guy. I believe it was a family. They were not prepared to pack up anything, even though I was told they would do it all. They contracted out to another company, American Choice Van Lines, at 201-691-8129, Ian David, lead mover. He was so unprofessional, arrogant and disrespectful. They told me that if I didn't go through with the move, that I would not get my deposit or down payment back of $2,668. Because of that I let them move me, but they only moved less than half of my furniture and they came to my new home later that same night and put everything into my garage!! They put boxes in the house where the furniture should have been, so it was so hard for the other movers to get everything else into the house where it belonged. What a serious mess. I had to get another mover to get a U-Haul and get the rest of my things out of the house, which ended up costing me over $3,700 more and a lot more issues, including money to get my home back together. Please help me resolve this and reimburse me for my inconvenience, and money!!! I had a meltdown during this move, so I really want to charge this company for my pain and suffering as well. Absolute WORST experience, do not use this company!!! It has been over a MONTH, and I still have not received my belongings. Customer service has been less than helpful, I have contacted them several times with no real solution. I spoke with someone today and my things are still in the state I moved from. They are charging me $1000, and that's just to have my belongings picked up in said state. I will not be receiving my things in my new state of residence. I have to agree with everyone that rated this company - 0 stars. Everything was a lie from the beginning. I was told that I was getting a great discount because someone cancelled their truck during the time frame requested. I didn't want to sign anything since I didn't have everything packed. I was told not to worry, that even if I doubled the amount I had the most I would be charged would be $3500. We taped off our living room floor and kept what we were moving to 8X8X8 (original quote was for 8X8X6). When the movers picked up my belongings, they said that 1/3 of what I had wouldn't fit on the truck. It was just piled into the truck without stacking anything properly. I finally received my shipment with 11 totes missing (all of the expensive items), and many of the totes that did arrive were broken or damaged. I am starting the claim process now at .60 per pound. I'm hoping that whoever ended up with my totes are enjoying the tools, expensive crafting machines and stand mixer with all the attachments while I get a mere pittance of what they are worth. read more

I wouldn't refer them to my worst enemy! tryi to charge us more then we were quoted. they also quoted us for our 2 storage units and now for the price they quoted us they are only picking up about half of 1 storage units. Similar to all of the other reviews here, we were quoted a price for shipping, had gone over the inventory with the representative and 2 days before shipping pick up were told it was going to be 2.5X the amount quoted. Buyer beware - this is a moving company that mastered the art of "bait and switch" to get your deposit and basically leave you cornered if you have to move. I'm writing to share a deeply concerning experience with American Choice Vanlines, LLC. This company engaged in what I believe to be highly questionable business practices, leading to significant financial and emotional distress. In November 2024 I contracted them and signed the "Binding Estimate" for a full-service move from NYC to West Palm Beach, FL in January 2025 for apprx $2,600, which seemed reasonable. All initial interactions were courteous and professional, where we went over a detailed Inventory List, white-glove service costs including full packing at pickup, and live-tracking of truck. I was even given a "discount" as they shared they had a moving truck coming from NY to FL and if it was ok for them to pick-up the items on a Sunday (more on this later) vs my original Monday request, which is what warranted the "discount". I was told that so long I don't add any items at the time of pickup, the cost would stay the same. I asked about this, type of payment methods, insurance, and various other topics based on reviews I had read online. I tried to get as much information via email/text for my own records, as well as recorded phone calls on my end (they record phone calls on their end, and I advise my call was recorded as well) - again at the beginning, all of this was fine and they answered all my questions/concerns. However, the final cost ballooned to nearly 300% the original estimate due to unexpected and poorly justified surcharges ending at $7,000 once the items were on the truck. During phone conversations regarding these surcharges, company representatives used aggressive, dismissive, and at times, foul language, adding to the stress of the situation. I felt pressured to pay these inflated fees due to threats of my belongings being held (at additional out of pocket costs) or sold. I was told through multiple phone calls (which had been escalated to the "supervisor") that should I want them to drop my items off the truck, or if I want to pick my items from their warehouse, that I would have to pay them 90% of the new cost. I advised that I am committed to paying them the original binding agreement, but they kept refusing and saying "that paperwork does not exist anymore and it was not binding". I had a lawyer send a letter of resolution, where I agree to pay the original cost agreed and signed upon, but was met with expletives and aggressive language. Furthermore, I was told that should I seek legal action, I would lose as they are federally insured and it would "cost me tens of thousands of dollars to just end up paying them what they want plus $1000 in storage fees per month while we wait, so you either pay and get your stuff yourself, pay in full and we deliver, or get your lawyer. we don't care." The delivery process was equally problematic. The company provided 0 communication, and the delivery driver attempted to demand additional fees upon arrival, creating unnecessary stress and suspicion (remember: You have the legal right to accept Curbside Delivery at delivery site if they try to demand extra fees, which I had to do to not get charged). Furthermore, the promised full-service delivery was not honored, and I experienced heavy damage and loss of several items (for which the replacement cost rounds up to ~$5,000). When I raised these issues, my concerns were dismissed. The driver was also reluctant to provide necessary paperwork, which raised further concerns about transparency and accountability. While American Choice Vanlines does have a DOT registration, it's important to note that they are not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Additionally, as of February 2025, they have 17 claims filed against them with the DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This information, along with my personal experience, suggests a pattern of potentially problematic business practices. If you experience similar issues, you have the opportunity to file complaints with several federal and state agencies, like the DOT, FMCSA, DOT's Inspector General, State AGs for the origin site and delivery site, and many more. Based on my experience, I believe American Choice Vanlines demonstrates a pattern of deceptive pricing, attempted extortion, and disregard for customer property. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise extreme caution when considering this company. I have filed complaints with relevant consumer protection agencies and encourage others who have had similar experiences to do the same. read more

Consumer beware!! Moving is always stressful, especially if it is almost a 900-mile move, from Florida to Indiana. However, this company has added so much more stress to our family over the past 3 weeks. Yes, three weeks and at a cost three and a half times our original quote! The first thing I would suggest is have them come to your home to do the estimate, that way they can't do to you what they did to us. When I called for the quote, I told John that the move was for my father-in-law and that the pick-up would be in Florida at his house with a destination of Indiana to a storage unit. I gave him details on the items that we had and asked questions about having blankets in bags not boxes. We were told that they would wrap curio cabinets, TV's and dressers. After going over the items with John we were given a price of $2,771.60 for 552 cubic feet, this did include a discount. We agreed and paid about 44% down. Two days before the move, when we had our box count, which was about 12 boxes more, and added 8 items. Our cubic feet went from 552 to 702, an increase of 150 cubic feet or 27% more. Our price however went up 65%!! At this point we debated whether or not to proceed but did not want to lose our down payment. At this time, we had to pay an additional $1,089 on the down payment. On the day of the move they arrived at about 9:30 am and do a walk through with my father-in-law. They determined that we did have items listed but that they were of bigger size or item listing for their computer-generated cubic feet and weight system. At this point we were also told that they would not take items in bags and now they were going to charge for their boxes and add another box to our count. This is also when we were told they even though I had listed TV's on the original quote that these TV's need to be "wrapped" to their standard and there was a fee for that, these we opted to put in our personal vehicle. They also added more "packing" charges. At this point we were told that our total cubic feet had increased another 622 cubic feet because of our "larger Items". This in turn increased our price by another 50%! Again, that this point our options were to suck it up and pay or lose the $2,400 we had paid thus far. It took almost 7 hours just to load the truck in Florida. In my last 4 moves, 7 hours was all it took for my local moving company to load, transport and unload. We had ruffly the same furniture but we had appliances and stairs. The bottom line is that they use discounts to get you into an agreement then increase the price at every turn and not adjust the discount accordingly. Again, I would suggest is have them come to your home to do the estimate so that they can't adjust for larger items. I would love to know what the actual cubic feet was because I know it was not 1324. The other thing is that they ended up charging us for items that we asked Deb to take off because they were put in our personal vehicle. Lastly, the delivery of our household items was 17 days. 17 days to go from Florida to Indiana. When Max arrived with the delivery he had no helper, he had to unload all of it on his own. With the thousands of dollars we paid they could have at least had two people! read more
