My experience with American Airlines has been absolutely unacceptable. The way this situation was handled was frustrating, inconvenient, and completely disrespectful of my time and money.
I went directly to the American Airlines ticket counter to purchase a ticket with CASH. Instead of allowing me to complete my purchase, I was told I had to pay with a card. So I had to go out of my way to put money on a card just to buy my ticket. I followed their instructions, paid for my ticket in full, and completed my reservation for a 9:00 AM flight to San Francisco.
Then, in the middle of the night, I woke up to an email informing me that my entire flight had been canceled!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
You make a customer jump through hoops just to purchase a ticket, accept their payment, confirm their reservation, and then cancel their flight overnight? How is that acceptable business practice? Where is the consideration for the customer who has already spent time, money, and effort making travel arrangements?
What makes this situation even more frustrating is the lack of a clear explanation for why my flight was canceled. I should not have to chase down answers after doing everything I was instructed to do. If an airline cancels a customer's flight, the least it can do is communicate clearly, explain the situation, and provide a reasonable solution.
And what about the inconvenience you caused me?
I planned my morning around a 9:00 AM departure to San Francisco. I made my reservation in good faith and expected to travel as scheduled. Instead, I was left dealing with a canceled flight, disrupted plans, and unanswered questions. Customers have jobs, appointments, family obligations, and places they need to be. Our time matters!
American Airlines needs to understand that customers are not just transactions. We are people spending our hard-earned money, and we deserve to be treated with respect. Making someone go through the trouble of loading money onto a card to purchase a ticket, only to cancel the flight afterward without a clear explanation or an acceptable solution, is an extremely frustrating experience.
A refund alone does not erase the inconvenience, wasted time, disrupted plans, or frustration caused by a canceled flight. Customers deserve more than an automated email in the middle of the night. They deserve answers, communication, and meaningful assistance.
I want American Airlines to explain why my flight was canceled, why I was required to use a card instead of cash at the ticket counter, and what the company intends to do to address the inconvenience this caused me.
This experience has seriously damaged my confidence in American Airlines. Based on what happened, I would think long and hard before trusting this airline with my travel plans or spending another dollar with this company.
AMERICAN AIRLINES NEEDS TO DO BETTER!
If you are going to sell tickets, take people's money, and confirm reservations, then take responsibility when those plans fall apart. Customers should not have to fight for basic answers or be left wondering what happened to a trip they already paid for.
Terrible experience. Unacceptable customer service. Poor communication. No clear explanation. This is NOT how paying customers should be treated.
American Airlines, I hope someone in management actually reads this and takes responsibility. Customers deserve better, and I will not stay silent about the way this situation was handled.
This is the second time I've had a big incident to wear it and caused a problem and I had to cancel other reservations due to the fact that they keep canceling my flights after I pay for them, but won't tell me why read more
