After having a horrible experience at a different Dermatologyst (I only had 2 visits at ) I decided…read moreI was in desperate need of a doctor who would I could have confidence in. After getting several referrals from friends and being bummed out that they didn't take my insurance I took a leap of fair and chose a female dr who was part of the upmc network several if my doctors are part of. I could not be happier. Walking into the office I was a little confused from the setup but after checking in with a very friendly front dear girl I took a seat and waited to be called back. The wait was very short. No more then 10 min. Dr Bunimovich's nurse took me back to the exam room. It was cozy and and didn't have that cold clinical feel many exam rooms have. After asking me several questions including any issues I was there for she took her leave and said the dr will be in shortly. When Dr Bunimovich came in she introduced herself as well as a intern who would be shadowing her. They were both very friendly and put me at ease quickly. I have to say Dr. B checked over me with a fine tooth comb. She listened to everything I said acknowledged it and game me great advice. I did have to have 2 biopsies done. She was very skilled and unlike the last biopsy I had done I could barley feel the needle with the numbing agent. She also kit it take effect over a few min. so I didn't feel it like I did at the other Dr. Over all I am so happy I found a dermatology's who I like and who can express empathy toward her patience and listens to what the say.

On the appointment day, I was soon brought from the waiting room into an exam room that apparently was never cleaned between patients, because the cleaning lady stopped by and said that she had not cleaned. She exited and left me in the dirty room. Yuri Bunimovich, MD, PhD had me wait in my gown in the exam room for 45 minutes before he finally saw me. He did a head-to-toe mole exam in a few minutes. I then inquired about some small, flesh-colored growths that I have on my face, neck, and upper chest. He did not look closely at me, so I do not think that he saw what I was talking about. He said that I probably have tinea versicolor, which I looked up and found out is a fungal infection that results in small, discolored patches. My skin looks nothing like photos of tinea versicolor. The nurse immediately sent a prescription to my pharmacy for an anti-fungal shampoo. I did not agree with the diagnosis, but I paid for the prescription and used it for weeks, and my skin growths, which I think are actually skin tags, were--surprise!--NOT cured by the anti-fungal prescription. When I had first checked in for my appointment, I paid $25 on a computer for my "30-minute" appointment, but after my appointment when I went to exit the office, the receptionist tried to get me to pay a second time. I am on the lookout for a new dermatologist.

The book called: A BRAVE LITTLE HEART: Autumn's story - by: Erica Hamilton…read more A heart transplant is surgery to remove a damaged or diseased heart and replace it with a healthy donor heart. Finding a donor heart can be difficult. The heart must be donated by someone who is brain-dead but is still on life support. The donor heart must be matched as closely as possible to your tissue type to reduce the chance that your body will reject it. For the family it was a very emotional and hard situation to face this ordeal, because Autumn is a little child and she doesn't know any different. She is sitting there with all kinds of tubes, waiting for surgery and she's smiling, only a child can do that. Kids always have a great smile on their face. I have always been amazed at how well she has recovered. Autumn was so brave while she was in the hospital and having such a positive attitude ...The coolest thing that I've noticed, is that Autumn had such a huge heart: she is so caring, it's amazing. Autumn went home on February 21, 2013, and is growing up into a perfectly healthy child. God bless her and her family !!!***Erica Hamilton admires small children who are so resilient when faced with impossible situations. When Erica heard about this six years old girl: Autumn, she was inspired to write a book to tell others of her's overcoming the worst obstacle, a heart transplant. Erica hopes that the little child's story will inspire others to face difficult situations with a positive outlook towards any challenges that life might bring. Erica Hamilton immigrated from Finland ten years ago and since coming to the United States, she has been involved in working in different areas of the medical field. Erica was certified as a practical nurse 1998 in Finland, and also served as a military medic 1999-2000, and earned her Military Medal of Merit on May 10.2001. She volunteered to help survivors at Ground Zero area in NYC during September 11, 2001 crisis. She earned her EMT certification in NYC on August 30. 2009/10.01.2015 in PA. She volunteered to help in Haiti after the severe earthquake in 4.25 - 5.1.2010. On June 14, 2011 she receive her US citizenship in NYC. Her passion continues to be one of helping others especially those who are in extreme need. She admires small children who are so resilient when faced with impossible situations. When she heard about Autumn, she was inspired to write a book to tell others of Autumn's overcoming the worst obstacle, a heart transplant. ***THE LETTER for Autumn: Dear AUTUMN, NYC Jan.22/2013 / My name is Erica Hamilton - I saw your story about your successful recovery regarding your new HEART !! I am an off duty EMT (Emergency Technician) from NYC and PA but I have also worked in the heath care field since 1998 as a practical nurse. I am from Finland (from: North Pole where the Santa Claus comes from and lives). I have been in the USA past ten years. Until today there are things that amaze me no matter how much experience I have and that is why I love your story. You are such a strong little soul - with an amazing attitude towards this big world and the life which is warmly surrounding you. I love children. I went to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake and I saw many little children there, so I hugged them and talked to them and what was amazing for me was those beautiful smiles on their faces. Children are all the same where ever you go. I would like to share a photo from Haiti FOR YOU - this little girl is three years old and she would not let me go for four hours. The truth is that I did not know what to do because I had to care for others also, not only her. That was the funny part ! This world and your beautiful family gave you a beautiful gift that has no words for to express it, your HEART! Cherish it and keep it in a good health no matter how old you are. This heart also called an organ is going to keep you alive until end of your beautiful days ... and that HEART will be your best friend in many situations for many years: when you smile, when you cry, when you feel warm, when you feel cold, when you feel lonely, when you feel in love or loved. This heart has a big responsibility to keep you alive in your tiny body. This heart also has amazing strength to get bigger and stronger and it does LOVE YOU so. I am happy to write the letter for you because I heard that you like to get mail - so I am trying to put a BIG smile on your face and make your 'new friend', the HEART, HAPPY ! I would love it if you have a time to draw me a picture of you and your 'new friend', your heart. I would also love to receive a letter from you when you feel stronger and have a time to respond to this letter. We all are united in this world and life is beautiful. We all have bad moments in our lives but the good part is that they never last forever because our HEART is working hard to do the right JOB. I wish you all the best and strength towards the road to recovery with your new friend!
