I have never found a perfect dentist that has it all. The location is on the bus line for me and easy for me to get to. I like hanging in the Oakland area so that worked out well for me. So about my first time pleasant experience, I have nothing but positive things to say and can't think of one negative thing to say. I had no problem making an appointment either. Calling the office is easy to get a hold of compared to other offices where it's hard to get through or even schedule an appointment. The receptionist was friendly and greeted me. I believe her name is Nicole. The dental hygienist was real nice too and thorough at her job. She made me comfortable by being gentle on my teeth when scraping the plaque off. Her name is Lauren. It was real easy of a checkup which how it should be. As for Dr. Cushman, he was a real nice man and a real good dentist checking my mouth thoroughly for cavities and he was able to answer my questions well. I have felt real comfortable and I am looking forward to having Dr. Cushman as my future dentist! If he retires, I hope someone just as good as him and his staff replace him. If you are looking for a new dentist and have a fear of dentists, this is the place to go I recommened where you will feel the most comfortable. I will be going to this dentist from now on every 6 months for a teeth cleaning and if I have any problems with my mouth, I will trust this dentist office too. There's a reason why Dr. Cushman is a Top Rated dentist based on research I did for an excellent dentist! I don't even care if this office is not in walking distance for me either. I rather have to take the bus to go to a great professional dentist that is out of my way than walk to a close by dentist who isn't that good.

And now I have to get a second opinion because I've heard so many stories about how inaccurate her assessments are. The badly trained hygienist shoved the whole metal x ray holder in my mouth (the metal ring should be outside) for maybe a dozen x rays. I started screaming in pain and was even in tears. When the doctor came out she expressed no concern for my pain, just blaming my experience on my large tongue. It had never once been brought up before and it was a really crappy way to get around validating my pain. Later that day as I started having symptoms of a respiratory infection, I lost it. In addition to that agony and degradation, now I had to put everything on hold for nearly a week because of whatever nastiness was on that metal thing shoved to the back of my throat again and again, all while the "medical professional" blamed me for my large tongue. And I missed out on paid work I really needed. Dr Monahan hasn't responded to my other review or two emails. I will not contact her directly again but if she wants to apologize she can reach out to me. I am definitely going to report her and her practice and encourage others to do the same. No one should have to endure this.

THIS IS HIGHLY HIGHLY ILLEGAL. They did this while a girl, whose name is Emma, sat on the phone being condescending. Oblivious to the law or the gravity of the situation. They only released them after I filed a complaint. Do not allow medical professionals to withhold your medical information under any circumstances! This is why we have laws against this. STAY AWAY!

My front tooth had a stain on it and she spent extra time polishing that up for me before the cleaning. The office is located in a "home" type building, so lookout for the big white sign out front. Plenty of on street parking when I went. The waiting room has a Keurig and plenty of kcups to choose from. They offer specialty zoom whitening treatments that I'm definitely considering. While I was there, Christian/religious music was playing in the background. Dr. Liberati, D. D. S. seemed to be an old man who told me he had been doing this for 40 years. One of my biggest concerns about the experience was that, even though I had told him I had not been to the dentist in 4 years, he seemed a little rough with my teeth (when he flossed them) and left them bleeding pretty badly and hurting. I have been to the dentist before, and they usually spray my teeth down with a water hose. That didn't happen this time. It felt semi-rushed, and Dr. Liberati, D. S. S. did not seem to be the most easy-going. I ended up going to a new dentist about my concern, and that dentist told me I had 13% tooth decay, or not enough to go through the cavity process. Dr. Liberati, D. S. S. will give you a basic dentist experience, and this dentistry is a solid option if you need to go to a dentist, but if you are someone who is worried about your teeth or anxious before going to the dentist, you may have a better experience elsewhere.

After my second visit, earlier this month, I am never returning and am switching dentists immediately. I filled out an online form for Jeffries exactly a week before my appointment to provide them with my dental insurance. I was proactive by informing them of my dental insurance and providing ample time (a week) for them to review it in advance before my appointment, so - in the case it wasn't covered - they could informed me in advance. I even reached out via email prior to filling out the online form to ask for the best way to provide it to them - via photos of my card or via a form or what - and they directed me to the form on their site, which I filled out the next day. FYI, I never heard back from them at all after providing them my insurance information. This was filled out on the Sunday prior to my Saturday appointment, about 6 days later. They only just reviewed my dental insurance AFTER my routine teeth cleaning appointment and informed me then that they don't accept my coverage, so I was charged the full upfront price for the appointment. This is totally unfair. If I give you ample time to review my insurance information, quickly submit it via the means you requested, and never heard back between a week timeframe of it not being acceptable, it is your job as an business team to follow up with me accordingly. They, however, clearly didn't and just wanted my business and money.

I am a resident with a very tough schedule so I make my appointments 6 months in advance. My December 2019 appointment was rescheduled about a week before the date by a message left on my voicemail. As I was not able to make the new appointment time I called to reschedule but the secretary was unable to find me a suitable time despite giving her options of essentially any day in December and any Tuesday in February. As a fellow medical provider I think it is poor form to cancel on someone and not find an appropriate substitute. I am now going elsewhere that was able to find me a suitable appointment.
