I had to lean forward in my chair in the theatre for the entire duration of the film or else be catapulted backwards just to be thrown forwards again if someone in the row behind me walked by. The bathroom was gross and had not been serviced in some time. No toilet paper in the stalls and giant rolls of paper towels just sitting on the counter instead of in the dispensers on the wall, the trash can overflowing...not a good look guys. RUDE employee, Terrible customer service. I drove all the way to Progress Ridge from NW Portland thinking that they were open at 11:00AM, since it does say 11:00A.M on Google search. The Employee came up to the door and said "Yes?" I said, I'm here to get tickets and he said, we don't open until 12:00pm. I said, you guys advertised 11:00AM. Looks at me with his Annoyed face, and answers "12:00". Then shuts the door. read more

Great service, great food for a movie theater, not sure what all these other a**holes expect but they all need to chill the f*** out lol Most importantly, super nice and polite staff despite all the d***heads that have nothing better to do but complain. Lastly, new staff was great with getting me my order even though they had an issue at first, Jennifer was able to solve the problems efficiently and get me my order in a super timely manner. read more

It's the lesser of the three former Cinetopias that AMC took over. This theater really needs some updating. The food options are terrible and overpriced. If it wasn't for the AMC Stubs A-List and $5.00 Discount Tuesdays, I wouldn't waste the energy to go out to Beaverton to see a movie here. read more

So sad Cinetopia is gone. First, just like all the others, the people were perfectly fine; friendly, helpful, really nothing wrong with the service. The theater is old, but we've been going since the beginning, so we understand. A remodel is overdue. But, the wine and beer selections stink. Especially when compared to what they were. $15 for a glass of wine in a cheap plastic cup? Could have gone to Regal for that. Not really getting much for the price of admission. And, one of the biggest draws for us with Cinetopia, the over 21 Only theater. Love kids, have kids, don't want to watch PG13, or R movies with kids. read more

When this was Cinetopia was so much better. The floors weren't cleaned and sticky. Liked it so much better when it had an over 21 side and meal ordered and delivered from your seat. That's it. After a miserable theater experience at the premiere of Downton Abbey last night, I'm not going back. Too bad, too, since I live so close. Seats were uncomfortable and squished in; carpet and floors were filthy, food was impossible to order at the bar (one person?), tickets hard to redeem (one bar reception--need new wifi), and on and on. Wow, this place sure took a serious dive since AMC took over. I first saw the cheaper movie tickets and was happy about that but damn! I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks for the premium service! Here are some noteworthy moments from my experience: -All lot of the floors were very sticky -Walls had messed up paint and chunks of wall missing -Some theater seats had tears in them -We ordered food at the restaurant that literally never showed up in the theater, which is good because neither did the server that was supposed to take orders. -It was an absolute Icebox in there to the point where it was distracting. -It was eerily empty. Shocking, seeing what's become of the place. -There were several pictures missing off the walls and just hooks and wires left behind -There was trash and random equipment sitting around (ladders, etc) I'm really just hoping this is just some temporary setback stuff relating to the change in ownership. I'll try this theater out again in a couple months and if it's still like this, it'll be the last time I come here, unfortunately. Step your game up, AMC! read more

We used to love going to cinetopia, it was clean, the service was good and it had a great wine and beer selection. Last night was our first visit since it changed to AMC and our experience was horrible. It is dirty, they serve cheap brands of wine for $16 glass (completely ridiculous prices), my beer glass was sticky and the service was very bad. About an hour into our movie the alarms went off and they evacuated the building. I am assuming it was a fire but we left. We will never go back there. It is really unfortunate that we lost a nice theater in our neighborhood. Update: I tried to get our money back for the movie we didn't get to finish because of an evacuation and was told they couldn't do that. That's some great customer service..... read more

Husband and I loved Cinetopia. After amc took over, we decided to take our daughters to see Lion King and to the crazy cost of almost $60 for us 4, we were absolutely disappointed. Cinetopia had servers in the theater, menus, drinks, comfortable, clean floors. Now as AMC it's dirty, sticky floors, no service, disgusting bathrooms that smelled like they hadn't been cleaned since they shut down Cinetopia, there was all of 3 workers in the whole place, and the popcorn was stale. We were planning to see the movie Doctor Sleep. The movie was at 9:00 PM. The screen was blank for 15 minutes although you could hear the commercials being played. I requested someone tobvone check it out. They fiddled around the best they could. We were offered soda and popcorn for the inconvenience. After all said and done they could not ot play the movie. We were credited back for the tickets. I didn't think about asking for a credit for the soda and popcorn we bought. It's kinda awkward asking for refreshments to be reimbursed. However I wouldn't have ordered them if I was just sitting there. The seating was in bad shape to say the least. I can say they tried their best. Just not what I had in mind. read more

Worst move experience ever! Never going back! No fountain drinks! Food took over 25 mins to come and it was cold! Th biscuit was burnt black and the wings had feathers in them! Then couldn't find a single employee after the movie! Had to search the theatre for a staff member. Us and another couple were looking for one because their food never even came!! I always liked this place when it was Cinetopia. The service there was 5 star, but probably unsustainable. We went to see "Spies in Disguise" with the kids for lunch. They still honored our Cinetopia gift card, which is awesome. We ordered our food, which was a bit pricey, but they delivered to our seats and everything tasted great. Cinetopia had horrid chicken strips, AMC has much better ones. The burger was good and not pretentious, and the Cobb Salad was excellent. The seats were comfortable, and the sound, etc were good, even though it was not the GXL theatre. Only big issues with this location are parking, and with the size of the bathrooms. So happy this place is nearby. read more

This theater has turned to crap. Arrived early and went to the bar. Only a few people were there but we were still ignored by the bartender as we sat at the bar. Luxury theater??? We had a love seat. Old, tattered, worn leather, and highly uncomfortable. The cup holder in the armrest was missing. Just a hole! We decided to leave before the movie even started. Dirty floors. The Icee machine must have been broken. Spillage over the entire floor in front of the machine. Nobody bothering to clean up. The theater has the nerve to call themselves luxury and charge higher prices for a garage sale type experience. Avoid this theater at all costs!!! Worst theater I have been to EVER. read more

I am only giving this 1 star because we did see our movie! This place has gone down hill since the new ownership. I feel like I should call the Health Department. The bathrooms were filthy. Paper towels all over the floor from the overflowing garbage can. And no paper towels all! So gross. The prices for food and drinks are outrageous! The people working are nice but look lost. Like they have no clue what their job is. What the hell does the kitchen look like? I will never ever go back. Filthy I hope the health inspector comes before someone gets sick. read more

The movie was so loud. Inside the theater it was dirty and very hot. The food was below average, I say stick with the better theaters.

I had high hopes AMC would spruce up tired, cushion crumbling, Cinetopia but it didn't. Almost the same B movies as all the Regals but more expensive. On a week day at an afternoon showing it was not crowded. They flipped on some lights and started cleaning before credits were over. We always watch the credits because it is respectful to all the workers and we do know some of them. When I said something to the young man, he didn't acknowledge. Actually asked out loud, "are you finished with this?" ... all before credits stopped rolling. I told the very young manager who didn't seem to care. I told him the theater is not located in a podunk town but this behavior made it feel like it - come on AMC, train your people! read more

This place used to be an amazing experience when it was owned by Cinetopia. However, since AMC Theatres bought it the quality of service, cleanliness, and customer experience have all gone to sh*t! The sound and picture quality was good. The food was overpriced served with extra single use plastic and awful. There is better flatbread at a 7-11 and it will cost less than $17. My stale dry pretzel sticks came with a plastic lid! I think that the lid was there to keep the taste and the moisture out! What happened to the beer and wine selection? It left with Cinetopia. Can you empty a bathroom trash can? If you want to go to a first run movie go anywhere else. read more

I was really excited to try out AMC and see a movie in the "parlor" seating because it was 21+ when Cinetopia had it & I wasn't of age before I moved out of state. It's no longer 21+ which is cool, we purchased 3 tickets and it was probably one of the most uncomfortable viewing experiences I've ever had. I was expecting oversized couches that you could fall asleep on and instead hey we're like covered park benches you'd find in a back alley strip club. I thought there was dine in service but no one ever came into the theater so that was a bummer! read more

We used to come to Cinetopia all the time, now we're stuck going to this garbage AMC because they bought it out. I bought the nachos and what was delivered to me was 15 chips with wet cheese. When I brought them back because the menu photo showed nachos covered in nacho cheese, jalapeño and chicken, i was informed by the bar tender that they have changed the nachos since printing the menu. This is called "bait and switch" in the business world and it's literally illegal. Why has the FCC not caught on to the garbage and shady enterprize this company is running. Never come here! Never! My husband, me and our kids liked to see movies at Cinetopia since it began. We are sad to see the restaurant and theater changed tremendously . We used to have a hard time to find a parking place during the weekend nights. We still went there some times, hoping it would get better. Yesterday we were there and saw some good things: employees were helpful and kind. Bathrooms theater were all clean and comfort. The theater room ( GXL) was very comfortable. Kathrine working at the MacGuffins bar was terrible. Very unfriendly and not personable at all. She played on her phone while having customers waiting to order. She was extremely slow and couldn't manage to pour a single drink without going back to her phone for another text. I have patience but she had 4 total people in the bar, two of them had been served and two waiting. She was simply unmotivated and lazy at every level.. Bought my ticket via Fandango app and put it in my Apple Wallet; that turned out to be pointless as the Kiosks don't use QR codes. I had to find and type in manually some 10 digit code. Hurrah for technology (not!) Then it was a nice long line in order to purchase popcorn and a soda. There are no "small" popcorn (minimum was more than $6.00 and 600 calories) or "small" soda sizes so while the movie ticket was reasonable, the price of concessions was outrageously high. And I don't need HUGE portions of popcorn. The seats were so-so, I kept sliding down in the as the recliner doesn't stay put, it just rocks. Can't fault the theatre for this, but I was unlucky enough to sit next to talkers even after asking them (politely) to stop once. Also, the sound system was sub-par. Not sure what happened but there used to be GREAT sound in the GXL theatres here. After the show, I went to use the ladies room which smelled like stale urine -- I felt like I was using a public toilet in downtown Portland :( This used to be an awesome experience but not anymore. I just want to say I was completely let down. This was the first time coming back to this theater since AMC took it over from Cinetopia. I was expecting a simple transition of ownership. No. I would think they would freshen up the place. No. I ordered food at concessions, bacon mac and cheese. The portion was smaller and the breaded chicken was dry. The "cheese sauce" wasn't cheesy. It didn't taste like cheese at all, more like a cream taste. The overall feeling is a run down establishment, that lost its down to earth feel and simplicity. I will be going to Century or Regal theaters from now on. RIP Cinetopia, I miss you and want you to come back. read more

The one star reviews are completely on point. Cinetopia was the best theater around and AMC took something great and turned it to shit! They used to give you a menu and serve you in the theater as soon as you sat down, now the waiters don't even look at you. You have to either go to the bar or concessions to get what you want. The bar was a whole nightmare in itself. The bar took forever just to order, bartenders and set up totally sucked, and they apparently no long let you buy a bottle of wine for the movie like cinetopia did. We will definitely be looking for a new theater to try or at the very least sneak in our own snacks and drinks like we're back in high school. I miss when it was Cinetopia. Since AMC bought it, the food menu got stripped way down and it feels darker and more depressing inside. It's like they're trying to save money by not using some theaters or lighting or something. I visited this place several years ago when it was still known as Cinetopia. Things have truly changed at this particular location and, sadly, it's not been for the better. I was in theater one and the place just looked and smelled bad from the very beginning (by the way, don't sit in that E row in the back...it's terrible even with the dirty, musty smelling pillows they provide)! Cracked leather seating that made enjoying my 2+ hour movie really difficult. I didn't even bother attempting to lodge a complaint with the employees working there as they seemed completely indifferent to the whole situation. Ticket taker never even bothered to scan my pre-printed stub. He just asked what movie I was there to see and pointed me in the direction of the showroom where it was playing. I'll take my business to Regal (where I just purchased an unlimited pass) or Cinemark from now on. read more

Sense the new take over this place has gone backward. The crew was not very helpful with the change. We ordered food, to go with our movie which is our favorite part of this movie theater. Once we finally found out how to get our food when we received it it was Horrible along with the option of the menus being few and not very good. The whole point of us coming to this theater is because we want a decent meal and a show for date night. The food is worse than a TV dinner. Needless to say next time we will stay home or go to the theater closer by and go back to the old way of dinner before our movie. It's really a shame. read more

So I realize that AMC just bought this theater but seriously please make the necessary renovations. We went to see IT (part 2) last night and the seats we picked ending up being high back uncomfortable chairs. The rows in front and behind us were the couches with partitions, pillows and tables. We had to change our seats to one of those rows. The seats we left also had cracked upholstery. The theater didn't have garbage everywhere but you could see that they did a 5 min clean up job on it. I am thinking we will try it again in 6 months and if nothing is better just write this place off as a future closure. read more

Did not have the same experience as I used to when it was Cinetopia. I don't even know where to begin! Limited snack options, the checking scanner was broken (only one lady manually checking tickets on phones), broken/dirty chairs, once the lights were out there was no one to help people find their seats. Oh, and three different set of people were sold the same seats in the row in front of us! We had to listen to people argue about being in the wrong seat over and over again. The worst part came overnight feeling sick from the popcorn we ate there last night. I'm definitely not going back there again! read more

This place is such a let down compared to the wonderful Cinetopia. There's no more wait staff in the individual theaters, as well as no more 21+ movie experiences available. No waiters or waitresses (no service anymore). A huge drop in quality since the Cinatopia days. $17.99 for chicken nuggets and I need to wait in line to order at the counter. Then if want an adult beverage, I need to stand in another line at the bar. We won't be coming back to this theater again. It has lost what was special. read more

This theater used to be a Cinetopia. For many years, it was great. In the last few years (whilst they were in litigation with AMC), they seemed to allow the place to go downhill. AMC took over a few months back (at the same time that the litigation was settled), but AMC doesn't seem to have done much to improve things. The place seems dingy. The seats are worn, the cushions are sometimes flat, and some seats are broken. I find the seats with ottomans to be very uncomfortable. For at least two days earlier this year, the AC broke and they didn't fix it for several days (even though they told me that they had). The volume levels in the theaters seems to be set arbitrarily. Sometimes, the volume levels are great, and sometimes the volume levels are ear-splittingly loud. Although I've brought the latter issue to the general manager's and corporate's attention, they don't seem interested in addressing the issue. read more
