What's not to love? Great service, fair prices, the best popcorn EVER, and lots of movie choices. It's always clean and the movies are well projected with crisp sound systems. Never had anything less than a great experience here unless I chose a movie that wasn't to my liking. They even offer reduced priced tickets through Canby Education Foundation as a fund raising project for Canby schools. This theatre is a big part of what we enjoy about Canby's community--friendly, easy to access, and reasonably priced. read more

I had not been to the theater in a long time and it had always been a favorite of mine before. When I came out of the theater and saw the filth behind the concession counter, I was very surprised. Dirty wet towels were on the floor and popcorn was all across the area floor! This while four youngsters stood laughing and chatting in the middle of it! I hope this changes. Super nice facility and we even enjoyed going there many times but the management and few staff members have made me think twice about going here again. Had some issues with our movie and let the manager know he didn't care at all, hardly would make eye contact with us while giving his insincere apology. Last couple visits the theater looks clean but once you go to get your seats you find they don't clean much at all between showings. The floor has been so sticky it was like a fresh spill more like one that hadn't been cleaned for a couple days. Hope staff don't ruin such a great little theater and please if is Saturday night peak movie time will you pop some fresh popcorn. read more

This is the newest addition to Canby as it wasn't open when we were up here in July but open just in time for Christmas vacation. This place is so new it is not set up on Fandango yet, but will be in the near future. We saw Sherlock Holmes here and it was fun. The theater is located really close to a grocery store so if you want to sneak snacks this is a good place to get them, otherwise, you might be getting snacks from a young hickey ladened girl... The front area is very small and when there are large crowds waiting for a new movie, it is hard to exit the through the front doors. read more

Ill start out by saying this- it is nice to have a cinema close to home (especially when you live in a small town) it is a nice theater, very clean. BUT I am a caregiver for someone who is disabled, and I decided to take them in to see a movie, they are on a very fixed income, and It was to my understanding that I could get in for free as long as I was stated as her caregiver ( I did call ahead that morning and verified this with the staff). So therefore I would pay for her ticket and to us it would be really her getting in for free. . . well when we went up to the counter the employee had no idea what I was talking about and made me feel like an idiot, and he did not offer to ask a manager or get help. which sent my client into panics because we ended up buying two tickets... not ok!! very disappointed with them! I have not been in since then, this was like 4-6 months ago. read more

Nice theater, however, 3 of us drove from Oregon City on Tuesday the 14th to see a movie listed on Fandango as starting at 4:05pm. Well, it wasn't showing at that time (not till 7:35?) They had a piece of paper in the window that said that they weren't responsible for any websites with showtimes, except theirs. Not sure about anyone else, but I always use Fandango for movie times. I was very disappointed that they allow Fandango to list times that are incorrect. I mean, if they KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING, why not FORBID fandango from listing them PERIOD? wasted gas, time and a night out with the family, because they aren't responsible for movie start times. I waited nearly eight years for a movie theater to open in Canby and I'm glad that it was finished before I graduated. For a small town it is a very nice theater. The seats are comfy and the popcorn is awesome; not the gross stuff served at larger chain cinemas. Funny thing happened when my mother and I were seeing "The Artist." Towards the end, the film suddenly shut off. It turned out that the staff thought no one was in the theater and turned off the film. Once they realized that she and I were there, they turned it back on and offered us free tickets to another movie. read more

I am biased, I am from 'Canbodia', but this place is cool. Prices are less than usual for movies and sundries. It is new and very clean. Theaters are very small (60ish) but there are 8 choices. Seats are nices (fold down arms great for kids). Nice edition to a nice town! read more

I love this theater. The prices are wonderful and the staff are very friendly. The place is always clean and so are the bathrooms. I have seen a lot of movies here since it opened. I have a friend who I go to the movies with quite often, once a week or more. The prices are the best for a full service theater in my area and the snacks wont break the bank. This is the place to go see a movie. I don't have to "reserve" a seat here. I can walk in and choose the seat I like and move if the people in front of me are chatty. I like the prices, much cheaper than Regal for the same movies and the $5 Tuesday is fantastic. Good work Canby Cinema. I like supporting a small hometown theater. I moved to Canby in 2009, and have to admit I have largely been disappointed with most everything here. So I didn't have high hopes for Canby Cinema 8 -- we went only because we didn't feel like schlepping elsewhere. What a shock! I don't know when the last time I was welcomed to a movie theater! The staff is super friendly, the sound system was terrific (we saw "Iron Man 2"), the chairs are positioned such that no one can block your view, and there's a large selection of movies in a tiny space! Sorry Wilsonville Regal.....this theater blows you out of the water. It may be smaller, but it's cleaner, friendlier, sound system was better (you consistently play movies way too loud...we're not freaking deaf) and the seats were way more comfortable. I feel "good" and "bad" about this place. I don't know why they have a cinema, if it isn't going to be open ALL the time?! I have went during the week, like for a 7pm - ish showing and the place is closed ???? I dont think this is anyway to run a business!! I am hoping this changes for the summer, and they continue to stay open during the week night hours. I mean, yes its NEW, and YES, we have a cinema...but if I cant go to the movie in an evening, I am still going to drive where ever to see the movie. So canby you have lost my business. read more

Great place, we have loved going there for years but the kid at the snack bar "8/11/17" tried making us pay for a large tap water at a soda price saying they don't do it any other way so we didn't get anything to drink. we've been watching movies here for years and never once had a problem paying for a cup when telling him this, he replied saying oh we just started this, how convenient and what happened to making the customer happy it usually works for return customers. Seems like it would be easier just selling us a cup instead he made us feel unwelcome we had no problems paying for the cup as we have in the past but I'm not paying for a soda price for tap water. Plus his tone was less then professional enough to make us take a step back and think maybe we should go somewhere else! But because we've been enjoying movies there for years we thought this might be a better way to handle it. Plus he may have been new never seen him before. time frame was 2:00pm to see Annabelle creation for the 2:10 showing. Hope this helps. read more

I love having a theater so close, the popcorn is good, it's a little cheaper then Regal and it's clean, but I do have one complaint. They forget to dim the lights. Really? They are mostly young kids that work there and obviously don't really worry about the service. I've been there 3 times when there was a glitch in the movie and they turn the lights up and after a few minutes after they figure out they don't turn the lights off. I was there today watching a quite dark movie and they didn't turn them off at all. I had to go and ask them to dim the lights. But everything else is good. read more
