Just a marvelous experience and not only because of the nostalgia; this is the way to see movies. The family who run it in front are very nice and one can tell the stewardship is genuine. From the moment you walk up it all feels pretty special. Newberg isn't Newberg without Cameo Theater.

We love the Cameo. It is reminiscent of the theaters we attended in our childhood. I hope it never changes!

Employees are very kind and service is great. Concession stand attendants kept the line running smoothly. Website and IG are up to date on shows and showtimes. There is also a nice FAQs page that helped me get reacquainted with drive-in etiquette and helpful tips. I live 45 minutes out and it's definitely worth the drive. I feel this is the best option than a theater, especially with kids.

I hope this message reaches someone involved in the drive-in's operations…read more Tonight, my family decided to visit the Newberg drive-in for the first time. Our 4-year-old son has been excited to see the new Spider-Man movie, and we were looking forward to making it a fun family evening. We don't follow the theater on social media, and since we don't live in Newberg, we aren't familiar with how the entrance line is supposed to form. There are no signs on the road or at the entrance indicating which direction vehicles should enter. Unfortunately, we unknowingly came in the wrong way and accidentally cut in front of other cars. Once we realized what had happened, my husband couldn't safely back up because there were vehicles behind us, nor could he pull back onto the road due to traffic. We only realized we had made a mistake because people immediately began yelling at us and flipping us off. One passenger even got out of a truck, flipped us off, and took a picture of our vehicle. She could have just as easily let us know we had entered incorrectly. While I completely understand that people waiting in line would be frustrated, the level of aggression we experienced was alarming, especially with our young children in the car. Having someone get out of their vehicle to confront another family felt intimidating and unnecessary. As we continued through the line, we noticed other vehicles making the exact same mistake, both ahead of us and behind us, which suggests this isn't an isolated incident. When we reached the ticket window, the employee explained what had happened. We immediately apologized and even offered to pay for the vehicles behind us because we genuinely felt bad for the inconvenience. We were also told that another family earlier had made the same mistake. I understand the need to have procedures in place to prevent people from intentionally cutting the line. However, this experience left our family shaken. What should have been a fun evening with our son turned into a stressful and intimidating situation. We ultimately decided to leave because we were concerned that if emotions were already running that high before the movie, someone might approach us again later in the evening. I hope you'll consider adding clear signs on the road and at the entrance directing traffic. Not everyone follows the theater on social media, and first-time visitors have no way of knowing the expected traffic pattern. A few simple signs could help prevent confusion, reduce frustration, and create a much safer and more welcoming experience for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. I truly hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future families visiting the drive-in.

The benefits though are that there are usually not horrific like some other locations and they have times that are a bit different, some times later. I have been able to get in showings for things here when I can't at other spots and usually am not stuck with tragic audience members. Yes, I am FIRMLY looking at that person who brought a BABY to the last late night horror film I was at... or the people in the seats directly behind the center ADA spot I was supposed to sit in but had their feet directly all over that seat... The audience has come back out ... and hat audience is rude as F. Soooo, since everyone wants recliners, they tend to go to the fancier spots. Personally, just give me my space, a tall frozen cherry thing, some popcorn and play me a new movie. It used to be the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant Church. There's some cool millwork, antique light fixtures, and large curved staircases, but overall this is on the tamer side for McMenamins properties. The venue had standing room and high-tops on the same level as the stage. Upstairs is theater style seating that was decently comfortable and had a counter spot to put your drink. There weren't any bad views, and the sound system was better than I expected. I think there are two bars, one on each floor, but the upstairs one was closed for the small event I attended. They serve drinks and small bites, not full meals. Parking is challenging nearby.
