I attended a fantastic networking event here and was very impressed with the potential. There was a gentleman playing live music, there was a spot for you to lay out catered food and a spot for a drink cart. Parking was fantastic as well with so much available parking in a couple lots. I know this space is usually for plays and musicals but this opened my eyes to a much broader use.

After hearing about the theater policy (no outside snacks allowed), I put my snack in my car (after he told me HAD do hold it at the desk??huh??). And when I went back to the theater, the employees were making snarky remarks about me. I showed the employee my CLEARLY EMPTY purse (as requested) and the employee demanded that I place it on the counter so he could examine everything that was in my bag. A rude and violating interaction that tainted my viewing experience. Seemed to be some kinda power trip from an old man towards a younger woman. Unfortunately this is enough for me to not come back. For being a small business they really don't seem to care about the people that try to come support.

We've been season ticket holders for several years now and have enjoyed their productions. From…read moremusicals to comedy and drama, the players and crew are enthusiastic, involved, and energetic. Last night we attended their first performance in their new adjunct, The Playhouse, located in the Cedar Hills Crossing Mall, of a short play called "Anybody for Tea?" by C.B Gilford. Done in improve style, the cast was, according the introduction, given scripts and some time with the director before the presentation, but they'd not met each other and had no idea who was in other roles or how it was going to play out. We recognized several of the actors from previous productions, including the play's 'coach,' the always talented, Les Ico. The only down-side was a bench that broke during seating, but the folks looked to be fine and the bench was quickly replaced by chairs. I hope they do more of these smaller productions along with their main stage plays. We'd definitely attend. It was great fun and the Peachwave just down the mall has a non-dairy frozen dessert offering that's pineapple and not vanilla.

After waiting in line for about an hour I got to the ticket booth and they said that someone…read moreaccused me of cutting in line. I told them that when I got in line there was nobody behind me, and I didn't cut. He then says that he's going to talk to some people and verify this, which is totally fine. The part that is not fine was his logic of how we went about this. He asked the 2 cars that were right behind me and they both said no, that I didn't cut. Then he proceeds to keep going further down the line and 4 cars back he finally found someone to say yes. So then he kicked me out and told me that I could get back in line if I wanted to. I didn't and I left. What I have a hard time with is that if I did cut someone in line, then the car directly behind me would have known I cut, because they would have been the ones I directly cut. But no, they said I didn't. So then a random car 4 cars back says I did and that's all it took? So I can just wrongfully accuse someone of cutting at the drive in and get people kicked out of line, so I can ensure a better spot. Cool. Awesome. Anyway, I will not be supporting this business.

This is a real shame as there is al great deal of talent in this group of actors, directors, producers and the VOLUNTEERS! This is real community theatre at it's best and I applaud the production of "Over The River and Through The Woods" as being as high as last years "Sylvia" and the very nice adaption of "The Importance of Being Earnest". Mask & Mirror company is a community theatre secret-but I'm letting the secret out!! This is a wonderful production company. Well established, nicely produced plays are being held and you don't even know about it! Mask and Mirror isn't new in town- its been in the Tigard area for 9 years, but, for some reason, it hasn't garnered the cache of the Broadway Rose productions. They deserve the communities support. The final play of this years schedule, "Over the River," is playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday thru May 19th, 2014. This play is a very funny dialogue between a 29 year old marketing executive grandson and his 4 Italian-American grandparents. He wants to leave New Jersey for the West Coast and a promotion. They want him to stay in their area. The actors are great in these roles, especially Grand Fathers Nuncio and Frank. There are so many funny lines that the actors are stepping on themselves while the audience laughs..remember guys-pause for your kudos, laughter from the audience in the same as a standing O. Thats the only negative I have to say about this production. Otherwise it is a delightful, if stereotypic,l take on Italian grandparents and their very American grandson. As with 'Earnest", last year, the play has been slightly altered to make some local interest. There are snackies available. Even lemon pie was available today. Yum. Plus coffee, water, candy and whatever else you might want to munch on! Kids are welcome for Friday and Saturday evening performances as well as Sunday afternoons. Looking for something inexpensive and local you west siders? Check out Mask & Mirror Community Theatre's website and Go See Live Theatre! The 2014 season closes 5/14/2014 and fall season opens sometime around the middle of October. They hold open auditions if you're a secret actor and want a chance to audition, and they are always looking for volunteers.
