This is a old town theater. It's still the same as it was 40 years ago. I can testify of this, because I was here. I remember coming here in 1977 and watching Star Wars a new hope for the very first time. Even before that, I came and watched "Where the red fern grows". Not sure what year that was. In the 80's, I saw the Karate Kid and Jaws 2. Anyhow, I've been here many times over the years and it's still the same amazing theater and I hope it stays that way. The architecture, the ramp up into the theater, and its actually a pretty big theater. Bigger than most these days. Their concessions are priced reasonably also. read more

Palace Theatre - Cinema Near Me - Silverton, Oregon

Can't beat a hometown movie theater with great recliner seats, freshly-popped popcorn that won't require you to take out a loan to pay for, nice big screen with a great sound system and plenty of available parking on the adjacent streets. The staff is always accommodating and pleasant, the bottles of water are $2 (instead of Regal's $6.50 for the same size), a small popcorn is $5, and there's a family restroom on the main floor with other restrooms down a few steps. My only complaint, if I had one, would be that there's only one screen so only one film shows at a time; I'd love to be able to go here more often if there were more movies playing. Silverton should be proud to call The Palace Theater their own. read more

haven't been in here in years and I was blown away with our experience yesterday. They have all new plush seats with reserved seating. There is great lighting on the floor to help you find your seats. They rotated the snack counter, allowing for much more space. Best of all, the tickets are much cheaper than in nearby Salem. Saw a matinee for $7 a ticket, compared to $15 matinee prices in Salem. The Palace in Silverton is a first class theater all the way. read more

The unbeatable prices keep me coming. It's a breath of fresh air and a constant source of happiness that in 2019, you can catch a movie every single weekend and it doesn't break the bank. In fact, I just saw the brand new Star Wars movie matinee and got snacks for all less than $10. It's literally cheaper to buy the snacks at this theater than it is to sneak them in! Ha. Nice older theater, inexpensive ticket prices and their popcorn and drinks are not too bad in price either. I think $10 or so for two large drinks and a popcorn. At any other theater it would be $10 just for one of the drinks. This is our new go to theater when we want to see a first run movie instead of those expensive places in Salem. read more

We gave this theater a second try after a bad experience. Unfortunately we ran into the same issues again, hot stuffy and uncomfortable. I tried to buy drinks after the movie had started, but there was no one at the counter even after calling around. For the price, this theater is hard to beat. It has a lot of charm and warmth. So much nicer then the corporate owned theaters on Lancaster. I would prefer the sound during the movies to be louder but the picture is great. read more

Palace theater is a locally owned, charming reasonably priced place to see a new movie and enjoy the best fresh popcorn with real butter. Sometimes they even have some a pre movie live music set before the show. In fact, make a reason to come check out this cute and fun town, come have lunch, walk around, go to a festival, brew pub, see a movie, go to the Oregon Garden, stop on the way to Silver Falls State Park! Love this theater. From our home in Keizer we can be in our seats in the Palace in about the same time as driving to one of the Regal theaters on Lancaster in Salem, and the trip is a lot nicer. The theater is very nice, especially after being rebuilt a couple years ago after a fire. Very comfortable seats, bright digital screen and projection system, good Dolby 7.1 sound system. And the price for concession food is substantially less than comparable food at Regal, plus, they put real butter on the popcorn! Plus, going to the Palace is supporting a great independent downtown business in the heart of historic and beautiful Silverton. Go enjoy it!! read more

I love this place! It is a great part of Silverton's history. I remember seeing "Jailhouse Rock" when it first came out at the Palace. Just recently saw "Wired". The admission price is the lowest to be found and it is rarely crowded. read more

Was pleasantly surprised! Went to see Star Wars on a Saturday night. Wasn't too busy. The only negatives were the one cashier for tix and it was way too warm inside the theater. But the screen is huge and worth every penny. read more

One of my favorite one-screen theaters ever. It had been quite a while since I was last here, they refurbished everything after a fire. The theater looks great! I particularly love the carpet. The prices are totally reasonable, the staff is ultra friendly and the sound quality is awesome! It has a cool retro feel, and it's very comfortable. Great place! read more

In moving to Silverton, I have found the Palace Theatre a wonderful place to go. First run movies at less than 1/3 the price. An old wonderful theatre but with big comfortable chairs. Great snacks at a great price. We go all the time! read more

We've been long-time customers of the Palace and I am continually amazed at how a small-town theatre like this can survive... They often have first-run movies and always at an affordable price... and they don't gouge you at the snack bar - two large drinks and a large popcorn (with real butter!) is only $7.99 - and you can refill the popcorn for $2! When the owners got word that the films they were showing would no longer be available on 'film' and they would either have to close or do an expensive upgrade to the projector, they seemed to only hesitate a short while before making the commitment to upgrade. The owner regularly chats with the audience before the show and kept us updated on what was happening, and asked us (customers!) for our advice... Not only did they install a new digital projector, they also added 3D - and kept the prices very affordable.... $10 or less any time for 3D? Wow! We saw 'Star Wars Episode 1' there in 3D and the picture and sound from the new equipment is amazingly good - The theater is located right down town in Silverton and there are several really good restaurants nearby - so 'dinner and a movie' is a great option in Silverton... We're hooked! read more

I saw "Grand Budapest Hotel" here last weekend and was BLOWN away by how great this theatre is! The atmosphere alone did it for me, but the quality of the popcorn as well as picture perfect presentation of the movie. I may very well be catching a weekend flick at this place every weekend possible! read more

Price is very reasonable. Much better than in Salem. Seats are very uncomfortable.

Just saw Hunger Games here as a family. We live out of the area but also try to catch a movie when we are in town visiting family. The recent sound and projector upgrades made for amazing picture and sound and the huge screen makes the tiny multiplex ones seem like a joke. We also love the low admission prices and super cheap treat prices. Hard to beat a bucket of popcorn, drink and two little boxes of candy for less then 5 bucks total. It also has a funky art deco style that is fast vanishing. read more
