Its a classic run down AMC. Went here because I had a gift card, but I don't see me choosing it over Cinemark or Harkins in the future. Popcorn was average or below. The Prime theater is where I went and it was solid. Seats were nice. Most viewing angles were subpar given the way the seats were aligned though. Ordered a drink at the bar and it was really good so props there. Overall a fine experience, but I would pretty much always go to Harkins for the popcorn in the future. read more

This was our initial visit to this establishment, and regrettably, it proved to be quite disappointing. I had previously heard favorable comparisons to our usual venue. However, the entrance of this location did not convey the appearance of a modern movie theater. The facility appears outdated, and the carpets are noticeably soiled. I sincerely hope there are plans for renovation or upgrades to help it align with the newer buildings in the vicinity. On a more positive note, the kiosk offered satisfactory, even good, service. They provide a commendable selection of food items, and there is a small bar conveniently located across from the kiosk. read more

I saw the Odyssey here in IMAX format. The theater is kept in good condition. Visuals and sound were good except for the volume: too loud. Half an hour of ads and previews is a definite downside. I didn't try the concessions, but they did give me a free water cup. Buying tickets online comes with a "convenience fee." read more

Love this AMC, I'm here every week (multiple times a week) in order to get the most out of my AMC A-List, the workers here are all super nice, I wish there was an AMC closer to where I live but it is entirely worth it driving up and watching a couple of movies in a day. read more

The worst movie-going experience I've ever had. The theater's A/C was only working half the time, theater lights stayed on for the first 5 minuets of the actual movie and would not come on when the movie finished, no ice in the soda machines, and worst of all the theater was completely dirty when we walked in about 15 minuets before showtime. It was like a movie had just let out 5 minuets prior and no one cared to come through with a single broom. Sticky floor, popcorn all over the place, garbage cans full, and garbage under the seats in every isle. I typically don't go to AMC theater and I was reminded why. I already had poor experiences in the past compared to other theaters in the Tucson area and this confirmed all of it. Sadly, they should have torn this theater down with the rest of the foothills mall and built a new one. Everything is expensive these days, and if I'm going to spend my hard earned money, I at minimum expect a comfortable temperature and the floors to be swept. This theater needs a good cleaning. The floors are extremely sticky-which I know is an ongoing issue at a theater. However the carpets are filthy. The bathroom wasn't clean. The popcorn was overpriced & stale and cold. I guess you have to get the "gourmet" for an extra cost to get good popcorn (?) which is such a ripoff. Saw The Odyssey, which was a wonderful movie on IMAX. Not sure I could tell a difference between IMAX and a regular theater. Audio was very loud. We had a nice experience checking out a couple movies here. We went to the matinee which is the way to go. Prices are more reasonable and it wasn't super busy either. They have the nice reclining seats which made for a comfortable experience. The staff was friendly enough. There is some construction going on so we entered through some small doors in the back which was a little weird. But they have a big sign telling you where to go. Come on AMC you can do better than this! You can only use the technology bot at the front to buy your ticket unless you are using cash, then someone will help you. If you do have questions with the screen bot, a nice staff member will be able to assist you though not standard. You can also buy food and drinks or any snacks when using the screen. The theater smelled really bad and I could see stains in the carpet in the stairs. The chairs squeaked when reclining but honestly I was glad they did have recliners! Good sound and screen. Nice layout of the theater and seating. This place just needs some love and upgrading and it would really improve! Come on AMC let's make this place shine again! read more

Went to see "Odyssey" today and found ourselves in Theater 2, which had the standard upright seats, which are smaller and very uncomfortable. I realize this is a popular showing right now, but being jammed into uncomfortable seats for a 3 hour movie was very disappointing. The sound was WAY TOO LOUD, so much so we ended up leaving before the end of the movie since my partner ended up getting a migraine from the Over the Top Sound levels. Not happy about having to leave a $38 (for two online tickets) movie early. read more

First time at AMC Foothills as it's not close to our house. We wanted to see the Rolling Stone IMAX so and didn't want tot drive up to Phoenix for it. The ticket take was pleasant, we did not visit the concession stand as we had just eaten lunch at a nearby restaurant. The theater was smaller than expected for an IMAX but was not bad. An okay experience. The food options were better than most locations as far as "dinner." BUT, your options are: sliders, hot dogs, chicken strips. or various snack items. The concession stand situation is a bit of a mess. I was yelled at by agitated strangers twice just trying to get through. The coke machines are ridiculous - too many options and completely unnecessary. Some of the coke machines didn't have ice and there were people everywhere. I saw a 7:15 showing, it was the end of the day . . . But it was pretty dirty in the entry area and hallway. If we could have gone to a different theater with dinner we would have but we booked too late and had to stick with AMC. The reclining seats are nice, although they are a little on the thin side if you need a little more space if you know what I mean. All in all not a bad experience. Purchased $100 worth of tickets. Needed to change time and day due to family issues was told to request a refund and repurchase tickets. Did that but they still charged me $20 in convenience fees! Who tf is that convenient for? Not me or my family that's for sure! Will never go back to this theater, after years of loyalty this is ridiculous! What good is that app if we can't make changes or get a FULL refund of an original purchase. Last night, I had one of the worst experiences at a movie theater that I've ever had. I, like another reviewer, bought tickets for the Wicked For Good Amazon Prime Early Screening and showed up an hour early for our 6:00pm show. I was greeted by one singular staff member who saw me walking up and said "sorry folks, we're closed," and then proceeded to grin and laugh which lead me to assume she was joking due to the fact that I was dressed up and clearly going to Wicked. I continued walking up and still smiling and chuckling, she told me that they were closed and that she wasn't joking and that we would be receiving refunds. I have yet to receive any word about a refund, even though I bought my tickets as soon as they were announced, and received no communication or warning from the theater. I understand that the internet went out and that these kinds of situations can happen but the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional and has soured my experience with AMC. We were not offered anything or provided with any resources or information and I truly believe that if they had multiple staff members outside, and that those staff members effectively communicated with us instead of how it was handled, that I wouldn't have been as upset. So, just know that if you buy tickets for a special event and their internet goes out, you won't be informed until you actually arrive. read more

Been here 5 times the last 3 times We've gone with the 50% off price on Tuesday's & Wednesdays The last time we went the half price tickets never happened The cost for 2 day time tickets was over $24 And we're seniors.. So when the same thing was happening again We came early to see management about This bogus fraudulent offer. Today I was charged 26.45 for 2 senior Afternoon tickets.., The people on charged kept trying to tell me I was being charged 1/2 price So I said I hold on a minute 1/2 price of 26 is 13 and the GM smirked a bit and said yes half price from the evening price which is less the then the afternoon price.. so I said to him ... your evening tickets are less then the afternoon tickets.. And laughed again kinda and said yes you got $5.40 off ... the employee made zero sense and was treating me somewhat like an idiot.. 0 stars! I bought my tickets through Amazon Primes Early Showing for Wicked For Good. The only showing available was 930 pm on a Tuesday night, but you know what! PTO baby! We show up at 9 pm to be turned away because they had a power outage this morning?!? I get it...but you couldn't have notified customers in advance? There literally was a family with a little girl all dressed up from Wilcox! The family even asked if there were atleast souvenirs cups for sale and they said "No, we are not open" Shame on this establishment. Honestly will never come again. read more

I have an AMC Stubs membership and go to this theatre at least once a week so take this with a grain of salt. The membership is a great way to see and support good movies at the theatre and this theatre is nice but should be a lot better. 1. I have ordered "to your seat" delivery 3 times and it was messed up all 3 times causing me to spend more time going to the counter. 2. The IMAX is the worst theatre in the building and it's because of the small, filthy seats. Should be avoided. 3. The Prime theatre is nice but the theatre staff doesn't do a good job cleaning between films. Some sanitary wipes would be smart to bring in. I think the theatre could be more competitive with a few minor changes so here's hoping more people review this place. read more

A decent movie theater on the Northwest side. Plenty of screens to offer many movies. Seats recline to make the movie viewing experience better. They have good prices for daytime/matinee movies. Of course with almost every other Movie Theater around the prices for snacks and soda are astronomical! I single soda costs more than the ticket for a matinee movie! I always appreciate the AMC experience... my only wish is that there was a theater closer to me and that the company would replace the carpets ( the carpets are dingy and pretty old) at this theater. I like the fact that almost every theater has plush reclining seats and not an extra charge for that. I like the self service soda machines and the self service butter and condiments bars as I prefer to select how much butter I want etc. As a A*List Stubs member - it's the best deal out there in my opinion to be able to watch 3 movies a week if I choose to with no limitations. read more

NICE MOVIE THEATER! As the only AMC in Tucson, there isn't any other options if you have a gift card or or are a AMC stubs member. It's in a very dead mall, but the theater is nice with a fully loaded bar! It wasn't super busy, which is great for having a more intimate movie experience when you don't have to share a row with others. Movie theater was clean, and so were the bathrooms. A dump, dirty and poorly run. Theater was dirty and the lights were never turned on between movies so it was pitch black. Used my cellphone light to step over popcorn. Too dark to put ketchup on my hotdogs and eat them. No recliners, packed together like sardines. Couple in front of me stunk heavily of cigarettes. Stopped in this evening and saw A Star is Born. This theater has large lazy boy style seats. Like most theaters the concessions are over priced but the have great selection including wine and beer. The look is somewhat dated but everything worked like new - no glitches. I'd come back. Our experience was good. read more

This place is terribly run--while watching a film this afternoon, from the very outset and through the entire show, a couple was loudly talking and receiving several seemingly full-volume phone notifications. Ten minutes into their disruptive blabbering, I came out to report their behavior. No one came to do anything, and as I said, they continued this awful, selfish, experience-degrading behavior throughout the entire show. I updated another AMC staff member, and she smugly told me that there was nothing she wanted to do about it. There are plenty of other theaters in the Tucson area. I recommend NOT patronizing this one. They give zero concern to your movie-going experience. read more

Absolutely the worst theater in the city. Its always dirty (everywhere), the popcorn and drinks are insanely expensive and they dont put butter on the popcorn. You're to do that yourself, but since they hand you a full tub, you can only put butter on top. All of the employees other than the bartender are rude and/or could care less to be there. Saw an IMAXmovie here. The seats were not the recliner type but comfortable. I saw a bar and the usual concessions. Didn't partake in either. Check in process was smooth as usual. The only downside to this place was the mall itself. There were very few shops operating and the lights were quite dim throughout the mall, which made the walk to the theater a bit creepy. I bought a ticket online for Oppenheimer a few minutes ago. I connected to AMC through Amazon, which was one of the options on the ticketing site. The default payment option was PayPal. Guess what? DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE. So off the bat my movie tickets to 'The Marvels' on 11/10/23 for two people to the "IMAX" theater was $36.78 on the ATOM app thinking I needed to buy them ahead of time in case it was sold out and I needed good seats. If you have been to an IMAX theater before you will know that this is nothing of that whatsoever. The screen size was exactly the same as a regular theater and it does not wrap around the audience. The seats were not even escalated or tilted inverted rather. This was standard seating. Not to mention the seating was the worst part. These seats were so old they smelt like they had been sitting in a basement with mold for years. We had to sit in them and breathe in whatever was in the chairs and got into our clothes. It literally smelt like someone died in the chairs. Also we bought 2 small bags of popcorn, 2 small sodas, and 2 candies. Guess how much for this ladies and gentlemen!?!? FORTY SEVEN DOLLARS AND SEVENTY TWO CENTS! That's right ! EIGHTY FOUR DOLLARS to eat popcorn that had tasted like it's been sitting for hours, REALLY OLD smelly chairs that don't recline, bursted ear drums, and sodas that tasted like chemicals. I think they think by turning the volume up as loud as possible that it would provide an IMAX experience. If I had to describe this theater in one word it would be; gross. If this is what a fully remodeled theater looks like, I shudder at the thought of what AMC Foothills used to be. Nestled into a nearly abandoned mall that seems more like the set of a horror movie, the AMC is tucked away so it isn't easy to find if you don't already know exactly where it is. There isn't much space, or maybe just not the best use of space, as far as lines go. We luckily had already purchased our tickets online (~$9 per person) so we didn't have to wait in the line, but it was spilling out past the boundaries set up and didn't seem to be moving quickly. We showed the ticket attendant our online tickets and were able to get in immediately... to the somewhat dimly lit lobby area that also was dealing with the overflow line from the concessions area. This line, we did wait in. And it did in fact move very slowly--seemingly because we were mere commoners rather than the priority A List or whatever AMC calls it. The concessions were overpriced, but probably on par with most other theaters. We didn't visit the bar this time, though it seems as though that would've set us back pretty far based on other reviews. Once you start heading back towards the auditoriums themselves, you hit the very old stained musty carpet that has the very particular old stained musty carpet smell--you know the one. The ceilings seemed claustrophobically low, and we had to walk all the way to the back to the last auditorium. The auditorium itself was pretty nice. The recliners are the ones that are now pretty standard across all AMC theaters, and I appreciate that there is still walking space down the aisles even when the seats are all the way reclined. We had a snafu with some indignant jabronie claiming that he was in the correct seat (one of ours) when he definitely was not. Both of the stars I'm giving to this theater are because the staff handled it very professionally and were quick to help us in a polite manner, to sort out the situation. Honestly, I just don't think it's worth it to come to this theater. Tickets are comparable to Roadhouse, which is just a much better overall experience. read more
