What a terrible experience. I was standing in line to enter a concert when a staff member suddenly told me I couldn't go in because of a newly implemented clear purse policy. This was never communicated ahead of time--nothing on the tickets, no warning, nothing. I asked about a refund, and the on-site manager--who appeared very young and inexperienced--told me he'd have to "check with higher-ups." There was no attempt to resolve the situation or offer any real help. Just dismissive and unprofessional. Sure, I could have taken my purse back to my car, but it was parked over a mile away. That's not a reasonable solution once you're already at the venue and in line. Policies like this need to be clearly communicated in advance. Leaving people stranded at the door is unacceptable. Overall, a frustrating and poorly managed experience. read more

So excited that Dave Kos came back to Tucson with his 2025 Christmas Tour. I am excited he's back and shocked there were available seats!!! I expected a sellout!!! Well never mind, the concert was absolutely fantastic, topnotch, and lively. Dave had people on their feet, dancing in the aisles!! A joyous holiday celebration of seasonal music performed by an absolutely amazing band and vocal talent. What a way to rock in the season. The acoustics at the Fox are phenomenal and really showcase the music and talent. The audience was completely involved and knew it was seeing magic up on the stage. Tucson is so fortunate to have a historic theatre that still manages to deliver quality performances after almost 100 years. Check out the Fox..... I've been to Tucson many times and often stopped to snap photos of this historic theater, but this was my first time seeing the inside. What a night to support our amazing National Park system with a screening of *Out There - A National Parks Story*. From the moment you walk up, the theater radiates history, and once you step into the main seating area, you can't help but take it all in and admire how cool the interior is. This diehard music fan flew to Phoenix, rented a car, and drove to Tuscon...Why you may ask??? Because "Karla Bonoff," renown singer/songwriter, was performing LIVE on stage here!!! I have been a huge fan since I was a kid and there was no way I was missing this concert. The Fox Tuscon Theatre is nostalgic! So many amazing musicians have played on this stage. Located in the heart of Tuscon with it's high ceilings, balcony, chandeliers, and carpeted lobby made me feel like a kid again. They have 2 small bars. One located in the front lobby and the other by the restrooms. The concert was great. My sister & I had so much fun singing along! The ushers were all volunteers and very sweet. What a super cool addition to Tucson. The Fox Theatre has been a unique icon in the city for many years, offering a wide variety of performances--from theater and concerts to comedy shows. Reserved seating is available, and the seating, sound, and overall facilities are all high quality. This historic theatre hosts several different types of shows and events throughout the year. I typically attend a few events annually. Concession prices are of course on the higher side ($10-$15 per drink) if you are comparing it to a bar or restaurant, but pretty typical to other event or stadium venues. However, I will say they did not seem to have enough staff for this last event as the balcony area only had one bartender working on a busy Saturday night and all of the concession areas had long slowly moving lines. read more

I came here for a comedy show last night and like the theater. Yes, it's a bit old but it's charming. They have a decent amount of stalls in the bathroom. They have 2 bars to buy drinks at. The line for the bathroom and drinks both went quickly. If you leave in the middle of the show, there is enough lighting in the aisles to see. The seats were comfortable. read more

We attended the Ronstadt Family in Concert at the Fox on October 23. The performance was A+! The venue as it stands today is OK. The lobby is too small and crowded, restrooms are lacking, and the seats aren't raked enough for someone 5'4" tall to see around someone over 6' tall seated in front of them. I'm thrilled to see that the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation and Rio Neuvo are partnering on a potential project to address these and other (e.g., ADA) issues with the venue. We will continue to support the Fox by attending events, but we sincerely hope the Fox Theatre Tucson receives the same kind of love as the Fox Theatres in St. Louis and Atlanta. read more

Saw Clint Black at the Fox Theater last night. 10 nth row, right in the middle. The sound was amazing, and I am always grateful for the intimacy of no more than 1,100 people in the venue at once. I also love the nostalgia and history....all in all...worth every penny of my ticket price. read more

Saw Weird Al here and acoustics were good. The seats are small and stiff. The seat rows aren't staggered, but if you're seated behind a person larger/taller than you, your view will be blocked. It was also very warm in the theater. The air conditioner didn't turn on enough to cool the full house - it was hot and humid in there, almost making it uncomfortable. Overall, I'd come back for a show or concert but know which seats/rows are better than others, i.e. end of the row, and maybe bring a fan. read more

What a gorgeous venue! I love the historic charm. The artwork on the ceiling is beautiful. Keep in mind that there are no elevators to the balcony, so if you need ADA accommodations, you'll have to grab a ticket in the orchestra. Go see a show here - any show! read more

Prepare yourself for this place. Watched maybe half of Blood, Sweat and Tears before walking out. They need to find a new sound engineer. It was like watching a good tribute band. Not even close by miles to listening to the REAL blood sweat and tears. Horrible sound and show. The guitarist looked like some homeless guy they picked up on Seattle. Dressed like it too. The lead vocalist sounded like he was in the background. Same with guitarist and keyboard player. After everyone files in and gets seated, Fox must give the remaining unsold tickets to homeless loitering around the streets outside. Some filthy dirty appearance homeless guy with a chin-steap mask that smelled like he hadn't bathed in weeks and smelled of human feces sits next to me. I wanted to throw up.. Could not take the stench and poop smell from him so I got up and left. The band BS&T's was terrible, the only exception was the horn section you could actually hear them but they were just some traveling replacement fakes from the original band. You need to watch out for these scam shows and fraud bands using a band name to get bookings and ticket sales when they are not even closely related to anyone in the original band. Tribute yes, BS&T's not even close. Parking is a joke. Downtown Tucson is a dirty nasty place. Will never go back down there. I grew up in Tucson and downtown is just a mess. $10 to park in a crammed dark graffiti sprawled parking lot with no cameras or security. Your car is on its own. Terrible experience. I saw Mark Chestnut years ago and the show and sound were amazing but BS&T sucked in a bad way. Frauds posing as original band members just isn't the same. Don't be conned, research the so-called band your going to watch and see if any original members are left prior to buying over-priced tickets here. 7/27/2023 cowboy Junkies! "Sweet Jane" What a great group. I know it's hard with this heat for others to come and play for us, so she made us laugh when she said "this heat is real". Being from Canada, our heat is real. Our summer has been brutal and to see regardless what a great performance was had, is a reflection on their passion to provide the gift to their audience! Parking for this venue is always difficult if you aren't from the area. Took me a while to find parking. They also don't open the doors early so you stand in line in the heat. So arrange your arrival time with weather in mind. Their wine bar is steep, $15.00 for cheap wine in a plastic cup. Lines are also long for the time allowed to go in. They also do a half time break to sell more and when a concert starts at 7:30 or 8, on a week day, that makes it a late night. So keep that in mind. But otherwise, it was cool inside and seats are comfy. Sound is great. Bathrooms were clean and plenty to get the crowd moving. My best to Cowboy Junkies as they travel safely back home for a small break! read more

I purchased Amy Sedaris tickets on 6/9/23 and printed my tickets the same day. On the night of the show we arrived at 7:30pm (the time listed on my tickets) only to realize the event started at 7:00pm. We were so disappointed. We were shuffled to seats we didn't purchase. We lost a third of the event and while sitting in the theater after trying to figure out what happened we were asked to leave so they could clean the theater. I am still in disbelief. I don't know why I keep trying to give this place another chance. I tell every and anyone I know not to support a venue like this. We attended the Christmas show "In the Mood for Christmas" this past weekend. If you weren't already in a festive mood, you got in one while watching the show! Excellent singing, lots of humor, wonderful show. The Fox is pretty much the same. It is an old building, but has lots of character. The seats are comfortable, although there's not a lot of leg room. We were sitting just a few rows from the front and the sound was excellent. I'm not sure there was a bad seat in the house though. It was an enjoyable evening. In order to attend, you needed to follow their covid protocols--show id and proof of vaccination, and wear a mask inside the building. read more

The festival featured food, agriculture, beverage and cultural presentations which highlighted the importance of sustainability and the agave plant's impact on this region. One of those wonderful old theaters that have been repurposed to provide a venue for varying events. Tonight a celebration of Mexican independence. Classical music and opera. Thanks to the Mexican consulate we are enjoying this old but still somewhat grand setting. Seating is reasonably comfortable and sightlines good. Judging from the instruments warming up, the acoustics should be fine. Biggest problem is parking, but we used a garage two blocks away. read more

They reopened the Fox Tucson Theatre and I have been many times over the last 10 years since it's renovation. The lower floor is cool with it's art deco look. However, I am a tall person and so once seated it's hard not to get distracted by the small seats and narrow isles. My last visit I went to see a film and sat near the front, which I highly enjoyed. My husband and I watched "Can't Buy Me Love." Which was fun and there was plenty of room there. With downtown under constant rejuvenation, I am not certain where we are supposed to park, but parking is getting to be a huge downer. My favorite lot to park in(Pennington), constantly wants cash only even though during the week it takes credit cards at the Kiosk. So tonight before the event I head over to park, had no cash to prepay to park and spent 20 minutes circling around until I found parking on the street. Not the Fox's fault, but still it effected my experience of enjoying my night.(If you want in park in a parking garage, have $5 cash on hand; even though it's usually an $1 and hour to park and you are going to a 90 minute movie. Call it Tucson city entertainment tax. read more

The Fox has come a long way in recent years and they've really opened themselves up to the greater community to host really fantastic events outside of their regular performance schedule. The Fox is gorgeous and the drinks are cheap (they even feature local brews!). They bring in a variety of live shows and screen old films too (which makes for a fun date night downtown). The Fox is worth a visit folks! I'd give 5 stars if they brought in some bigger headlines into this amazing venue. read more

We had the opportunity to go see Napoleon dynamite, with a question and answer after the show with three of the cast members. Napoleon dynamite if you haven't seen it already is a great movie, but to be able to see it in a historic theater made it an even better experience. The seats were comfortable the ushers were very nice, and they help you get to your seat and find it. They have a couple a nice bars inside the offer theater type food and also sell alcohol. The The prices are comparable to most theaters, including the alcohol. But the ambience and having an opportunity to be in such a historic theater makes up for it. If you do happen to buy drinks at the Fox theater, you receive a souvenir cup that you can take back and get a dollar off of your drinks next time you refill them. We have seen a couple of other shows at this location and we are always happy and satisfied when we leave. Great location right now in town parking is a little bit of an issue but it is downtown Tucson so that is something that you should be ready for. read more
