Typically a regular AMC and movie goer and often find myself at this location with so many options. I haven't had much time for film outside the house with a crazy work schedule, but often enjoy films with friends, groups and/or my significant other. IMAX and Dolby are amazing here, but not that I believe all theater seating has been updated in quality these past years, you can't go wrong with any. We're gearing up for some of the summer blockbusters. Very much looking forward to Supergirl 2026, following the Woman of Tomorrow storyline, among others. Friday nights are the busiest here, we've learned that a few times and now usually do Sunday mornings or afternoons. Great deals on Tuesdays, and seeing things in the early half of the week are ideal with more parking and less traffic by car as well as on foot. Concessions is massive and well ran as well as kept up. Personable crew through and through making the AMC Burbank 16 not just a favorite, but one that does it's best. Some of the coolest displays and posters you'll see outside of AMC Citywalk Universal which has more costumes and set pieces displayed at times. Love the layout for the MacGuffins bar, but drinks are not reasonable and very mid. Great snack selection as well as merch. They're definitely making movies/movie going better!

My first impression of AMC Burbank is that it's big & bustling, which is a refreshing change from the ghost town movie theaters I frequent. From the street level, an escalator delivers you to the ticketing booth, & beyond that, long lines for concessions. When we asked for an empty container so we could share our large order of popcorn, we were given a small bucket already filled -- a thrilling & unexpected gesture of generosity. We caught a matinee showing of "Michael" at one of the theaters with an XL screen. The leather seats appeared new-ish but didn't recline. Best of all, no sticky floors!

My last review was about 9 years ago, so it only seems fair to give an updated review. According to Deadline, the AMC Burbank 16 was the highest grossing theater nationwide in 2025. I'd say that tracks - this AMC has huge auditoriums and a good selection of movies. You'll find your usual blockbusters, but they have a real healthy dose of indie/foreign films and special screenings, making it a guarantee that they have something for every taste. This AMC has IMAX, XL, Real-D 3D, Prime, and Dolby Cinema screens. Don't know what any of that jargon means? It means the screens are the bees knees with perfect image and sound - total immersion in the story unfolding before you. They have clean leather reclining seats, but a lot of the auditoriums still have the rocker seats (I don't have any real preference on either). As an avid humble moviegoer, I can say without a doubt that the AMC Burbank 16 remains one of my most frequented movie theaters. The movie selection and experience are hard to beat. Their matinees every day before 4PM are 15%-20% off, so if you're on a budget go early! Only downside is that the escalator/elevator seems to be on the fritz more often than not, so if you're old or disabled it might become a journey to enter/leave.

I visited this movie theater on a Saturday. Unfortunately escalator was not working and I had to get some steps in. lol I had to take the stairs which is fine, but it can be really tiring. For service, I can say most of the employees are nice and friendly, but the lady at the pick up counter was not friendly at all. She looked liked that she didn't want to be there. This theater has a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to order. Pop corn was really good and my bag was filled fully. You can either order online , at the kiosk or in person( line can be long, but moves fast). This theater was very clean and well maintained. Even restrooms were clean. Seats are very comfortable which makes it easy to fall asleep. Parking is easy. There is a free public parking in walking distance.

Came here to watch the Michael Jackson movie and had a great experience. There's a large parking structure right across the theater, which made things easy. We watched the movie in the XL auditorium and it definitely did not disappoint. Great sound, great screen, no complaints. Would definitely come back to this location again

Came here for the silent hill movie and honestly one of the best experiences I've had. Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly. I was so surprised that they had a full bar and I was able to enjoy my drink during the show. The strawberry margarita was so good not too crazy sweet just perfect. The seats were surprisingly comfy although they didn't recline. The screen was nice and clear and the theater was super clean. I will definitely be coming back 10/10 experience.

Q&A with the actors after the film
    Camille W.

Pretty decent size theater. This is a good spot to see first run and limited release films because sometimes they'll have Q&A's with the actors. I came to the screening and they had Q&A with the two main actors afterward in the front pretty comfortable seats although they're not reclining or heated like the ones at other AMC's. Some of the seats are kind of dirty on the back but as long as you don't look too close closely when the lights come on you'll be fine. There's ample parking in either of the lots one is near the theater the other it's a couple blocks away on First Street.

I visited this location for the first time late last month. I'm an avid movie goer, and have been to numerous theaters around the area. When I saw that this location had just gotten ScreenX, I knew that I had to try it. My partner and I went to go see Project Hail Mary in ScreenX and my goodness, the experience was truly astounding. I've been to 2 other theaters in LA that have a ScreenX and this location definitely shines the most. I know soon they're also going to be receiving 4DX, and I'm really looking forward to that. One thing that I really love about this location is their popcorn. I've also worked in a few movie theaters so i know the process of making Movie theater popcorn, and i will definitely say, this locations Popcorn is the BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I don't know what they put it in it, or maybe they use a specific type of oil to pop the popcorn, but whatever it is, it's working. I love popcorn & I usually go to AMC Citywalk as my home theater, its the closest to me, but their popcorn there isn't that great. So when I purchased popcorn here, my expectations were extremely low, but to my surprise, it was the best I've had. Overall, I love this location and may start frequenting this location more often just because of the upgrades It's receiving and mostly due to the popcorn.

We have been coming here since the day they opened. Location is great in Downtown Burbank. Lots of eateries around the movie theater. The theater is huge with lots of auditoriums. The concession stands are full of snacks and drinks. Overall a great place to go to see a movie. Customer service is ok, free parking structure.

I want to preface this by saying this review is about more than popcorn (delicious, by the way) or the sound quality of the room. It's about creating a space where accessibility needs are met and providing equal access to entertainment. Scrolling through multiple locations and searching for Open Caption showtimes was frustrating and tedious. Fortunately, while navigating the website, I was able to complete a form and request an Open Caption public screening for "Freakier Friday" at this theater and a preferred time slot. Three days later, I received an email from AMC saying that my showing was scheduled! Note: We didn't have ten people in our party, but noticed that quite a bit of people still purchased tickets for this public showing. I don't know what their needs are, but they all stayed and seemed to enjoy the movie nonetheless. Thank you, AMC, for being deaf-friendly and making the theater more accessible. My friends shared that they had frustrating experiences in the past, specifically with the personal captioning devices (I.e. not charged, incorrect/missing content, strain from looking at the device and screen, etc--this is not an occurrence with AMC in particular, but in general when using the device). We were so happy that we could experience this together rather than waiting for the film to hit streaming platforms. Thank you for providing the on-screen subtitles. It was an enjoyable and truly memorable day for us. Management: Please consider scheduling open caption screenings weekly/more regularly rather than waiting for formal requests.

4+ One of a few AMC theaters in the area. This particular location is the largest with most screens. The structure and size makes this feel like one of AMC's flagship locations. There's even a cool Batman statue out front. In terms of concessions, it's pretty standard, which is a good thing. If you don't want the food here, the location is blessed with lots of food options around it. Came here not too long ago (5/2025) and watched the live action Lilo & Stitch. The sound and comfort of the theater was great. Just a great theater and location although it's not the perfect overall experience. I'm a fan, but I personally would try to go when the area is not as busy. The parking and crowds can get pretty congested, but it's what's expected in dense high traffic areas like this.

Nice theatre, huge lobby! Went on a Saturday night and parking, and while free, was hard to find. Lots of free parking lots throughout Burbank which is convenient, but next time I'll arrive early. Haven't been going to movies lately but had a good time! Popcorn and a drink set us back $30 but I guess those are normal movie prices. Like I said it's been awhile, no biggie. The restrooms and the lobby areas were clean and the crowd wasn't too loud or rowdy! Overall a cool movie experience! There is the AMC 8 (I believe) that is smaller with better parking down the street but there aren't as many screens. We watched Mission Impossible and you can't beat the big screen for a movie like that!

I've been coming to AMC Burbank 16 for as long as I can remember. The oldest memory I have is of waiting in line for a viewing of Spiderman in 2002. Fast forward 23 years and although they made tons of upgrades to their theaters with the help of technology, they have yet to update the women's bathroom. It is rough in there. I can't speak on the men's bathroom but the stalls in the women's bathroom are falling apart. Some of the toilets are leaking and some doors don't even lock. I will keep coming here for the nostalgic vibes and the convenient downtown Burbank area. But at $20+ a ticket they could aim to invest a little into updating the bathroom for their customers!

AMC Burbank 16 Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - AMC Burbank 16

Can you take food inside from outside?

    Yes, you can.

What is the best solution for people who are biking to the theater? Are there secure bike racks or bicycle parking that is under surveillance? I bring my locks, but as we're aware that there are more important factors that deter bicycle theft.

There are bike racks near the ticket booth on the ground level. The AMC employees are not security guards though, so if you're that worried about your bicycle get a ride or take the bus.

Does the IMAX theater have reclining seats?

They do recline a little. But not as far back as AMC's signature recliners.

4/12/22, does anyone know if the A/C is working at the Burbank16 yet?

    idk

Where is the closest parking for handicap and elevators to the theater?

The closest parking garage is off of N 1st Street (next to Yard House). The elevator to the theater is directly on the opposite side of the ticket box office.

Are they checking for vaccine card in 2022?

No, they just require you to wear a mask

Are they asking for vaccination verification?

No; I've never been asked for this information.

    Is parking free?

Yes there is a complimentary parking garage and you can also find street parking as well.

Do they offer theater rooms with "reclining seats"?

Yes, they offer two theater rooms with reclining seats. One is the Dolby Cinema room and is $7 more(+3D cost if applicable) than the regular theater. The other is the Prime AMC room and is $4 more(+3D cost if applicable) than the regular theater.

Does this location use IMAX Laser projectors with their 12.1 channel audio?

While I can't attest to the audio, I can say that this location does, in fact, use IMAX Laser

    Sell beer and wine?

Yes! There is a MacGuffin Bar

Do the rows curve with the screen in the Dolby Prime theater? Similar to Woodland Hills?

There is a Dolby AND a prime theater. I am assuming you are referring to Dolby, whose name used to be Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime. The first three rows (A-C) have a slight curve. The rest do not. Hope this helps!

What's the difference between 16, 6 and 8? Why are there three different AMC theaters within like 1 street it's very confusing. Are they all the same thing?

Basically they are all the same, it's just the size of the theater. One has 16 screens versus having 6 or 8 screens. AMC 8 is located within the mall. AMC 6 is close to In and Out. AMC 16 is close to Islands.

Does this theater offer a "cry room"?

    No it does not

What time does the box office open on Saturday?

As early as 10am I believe (possibly a little earlier). At least a half hour before the first Showtime. You can also download the amc app and get digital tickets anytime of the week in advance.

Is this a real deal Imax with the large screen or just an Imax experience? What are the screen sizes of both the Imax & Dolby screens? Thanks in advanced.

This is the real deal imax.

Is it assigned/reserved seating or General Admission?

    It was General Admission.

Is there Spanish movies or Spanish subtitles?

All the years I have been going there I have never seen that.

How is the IMAX/IMAX 3D in this theater?

The IMAX Was amazing! I didn't do the 3D yet. One of the best IMAX : seats super comfortable and roomy; biggest and clearest screen. I highly recommend trying this theatre.

I'm attending the Day One of Oscar Movie Showcase I went when they first began this event so excited! It used to be that we were allowed to bring in our food does anyone know if this is allowed at this location?

Unless stated otherwise by your event they do not allow outside food. That they can see (wink)

The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

Such a fun awesome experience. A few months a friend was picking up her wedding dress from David's…read moreBridal so I looked up dinner options since we both drove an hour. Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. The place was so fun, the food was epic and service tremendous. Since our first visit literally 4 months ago, I have taken people 3 different times to this restaurant. I don't live any where near Burbank but in the last few months had the pleasure of being near there and telling friends we had to go! It's so fun to go with first timers. Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

Our other friend had the Kurobuta Pork Burger and said it was delicious after removing the bacon because she prefers it extra crispy. We happily ate it for her, and it was delicious! She got the Blueberry Ketchup on the side and it was so good! I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and loved it. I especially appreciated that the coleslaw was vinegar-based instead of mayonnaise-based (not a mayo fan!), The second time, I ordered the Hand-Battered Chicken Tenders tossed in buffalo sauce with blue cheese for dipping. Both friends ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger. The bacon still wasn't crispy enough for our friend, but we gladly ate it again! Overall, the food is good, but the service was surprisingly slow. Both times, our servers greeted us quickly and took our drink orders, but lunch lasted about an hour and a half despite the restaurant having only two or three occupied tables. It's a spacious restaurant with plenty of room for larger groups, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry during your lunch break.

The nachos were also good, but the rest of the food was pretty mediocre. The cauliflower was too greasy and not very flavorful, and the calamari was just okay. The drinks were decent as well. The place was super packed, so the service was a little slow, which was understandable. Overall, I wasn't very impressed with the food, and I'm not sure I would come back. Maybe for drinks but definitely not for food
