I was most impressed with the extensive collection of Ayala Bar accessories in the mirrored cases towards the back of the shop. She is one of my favorite artists and I chatted with the sales associate for a bit before trying on several pieces. I was looking for a pair of earrings that would go well with a lot of my neutral everyday wear, something that would be simple yet elegant, but unique and beautiful. I found just the perfect pair here along with a gift for my sister that I knew immediately would be her birthday gift. Most recently I got a funky firetail chenille plant (Coco Chenille) and she's one of my favorite plants of all time. They also have the cutest pots, like the snail with its springy little antennas and built in drain. The pots and plants are "boutique" so they are more expensive, but everything we've gotten we have loved and felt was worth it. Lots of (the cuter) pots don't have a hole for drainage, but you can just get masonry (ceramic) drill bits and do that yourself if needed. I highly recommend Good Anya for smaller and unique plants, lots of interesting pots, and for personalized plant care.

Chris was so warm from the get go and welcomed us to her place like family. She has an area set up in the back of the shop specifically for the classes. She offered us a variety of beverages for the class including tea, seltzer, water, etc. We got to wear cute aprons with the business name on it to protect our clothes which was a nice touch! After everyone arrived for the class (5 people total), we got to work. Chris walked us through the whole process. She is so cute and fun and it really made the class fantastic. There was a large variety of vessels to choose from and more scents than one could even think of. We got to select our vessel and take our time smelling all the scents to select the perfect combo for our candle. She had a wide array of decor to add to the tops of the candles from stones to flowers, and dried fruit. This was such a cool experience and we made such beautiful candles! I will definitely be returning to Chris' shop. She has a beautiful selection of candles, body scrubs, magnesium mists, and even laundry additives. She also sells refills for the candles too so you'll never run out of wax. I specifically enjoyed her Lake Tahoe collection which had scents of sand harbor, Truckee, secret cove, and more. They were in Truckee for years back in the 80's and 90's but pulled out for some reason. The store is beautiful and the staff is very helpful with jackets, hats, scarfs and so forth. Not the cheapest option in Truckee, but this is where Truckee is headed, for better or worst..... I personally am glad they are back. I do miss Truckee from the 70's but there is no going back as a town grows or dies.
