The details were confusing an complicated but the folks in the tool department and the store manager did the best the could. In the end, I had to register my battery with Stihl. They were supposed to send me my free battery in 6-8 weeks; they didn't. As a matter of fact, Stihl blew me off and said I needed to go back to Mountain Hardware. I reached out to Matthew. Despite the Stihl web page saying Stihl was supposed to send the battery, Matthew took care of me and aid he would deal with Stihl. It's a 25 minute drive, past two other hardware stores, to go to Mountain Hardware but, Mountain Hardware has the products and the people that make it worth the drive. Thanks Matthew.

Besides my positive experience, the store seems to have just about everything from grills, too fishing gear amongst other things that you would carry an Ace Hardware store. The staff are wonderful and the "cutters" do their best to make selecting and cutting the tree a magical experience. They start the tree cutting for you, with their own saws (you don't need to bring your own), so the tree regrows properly - but they each let us take turns. Not as easy as they make it look! So helpful at every step of the process - including free wrapping and tying it to the car. We found a beautiful 9' Turkish Nordman with blue hues on the bottom and it has barely dropped any needles after the initial shaking!!

Get here early because there ends up being a line to find parking (which is sparse). Once you are parked you'll notice a stream that runs through the property with fish, a fire to keep yourself warm, a small room where they're selling ornaments and food, and a truck carrying people to and from. Before boarding the truck you're given a saw to cut down your own tree. You literally are taken up some hills in the back of an old truck. Holding on for the bumpy ride is expected but once you're out you can find the perfect tree waiting for you and your family. Once you've walked the distance to Mordor and selected your tree. You board a truck heading down the hills. I recommend getting an ornament or two and a snack from the concession stand. This trip can be somewhat physical, so folks unable to walk up hills should stay near the fire with some hot chocolate to stay warm.

Many tree as just new branches of previously cut trees and are very high, like 7ft high to even cut. Hard to tell what the tree will look like. Many trees have fewer or every uneven length branches. Hot cider provided, packing just a dollar. Very nice staff, pleasant and welcoming. So, it's forest from where you can pick a wild tree. Some picks here even show quite well how the trees look like. Most recently I got a funky firetail chenille plant (Coco Chenille) and she's one of my favorite plants of all time. They also have the cutest pots, like the snail with its springy little antennas and built in drain. The pots and plants are "boutique" so they are more expensive, but everything we've gotten we have loved and felt was worth it. Lots of (the cuter) pots don't have a hole for drainage, but you can just get masonry (ceramic) drill bits and do that yourself if needed. I highly recommend Good Anya for smaller and unique plants, lots of interesting pots, and for personalized plant care.
