Amber has been on my radar for awhile and I finally started going to her three waxwings ago. I LOVE her. Quick, painless, efficient, thorough and just a great person to talk to. Her feminine touch and general warm and funny personality makes getting waxed an actually enjoyable experience. I am so glad I finally found her. She's great at what she does is incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating and an all around pleasure to see. I get a brazilian and full wax from her and never have I had such great and lasting results. Her prices are very competitive, I recommend her waxing services with absolute confidence!!!!! read more

Amber is amazing. She is so thorough, honest, gentle, and efficient. Everything you want and more.

I just want to update my review because Amber is still #1, she truly is the best! After a year of not seeing her (due to moving and school), I *text* her last minute for an appointment and she was able to book me. I forgot how painless her waxes are! She truly does have the touch. Thanks Amber, you the best girl! read more

Amber is the best! I've been to her 3 times now. Once for brows and twice for a brazilian. I thought getting a brazilian would be the worst pain ever, but it's not with Amber. I had a full on conversation with her the entire time, and felt completely at ease. She's very personable and sweet. She always comes through for me. Thanks Amber!! read more

As other reviewers have mentioned, Amber gets it done. She's efficient, does it right, and in the meantime is fun and easy to talk to. I'm glad I bought a Yelp deal to come here- it was a great investment, and now I'm a loyal monthly customer. read more

Amazing service! Went for a first time Brazilian and was a bit nervous. Amber immediately put my nerves at ease. While there were a few ouch moments, it was worth it. Will be going back for sure! read more

Amber is sweet, thoughtful, personable, and professional. She makes waxing... enjoyable? Haha. She knows her stuff and puts your needs first. I recommend her to all my friends. read more

I've been coming to Amber for some time now, at least 2 years. She's an amazing! She incredibly warm and friendly, and for me that is a huge need when you're spread wide open to get waxed. But she makes you comfortable with her ease and genuine vibe. She really knows her skin and somehow manages to make the waxing process almost pain free, I wouldn't keep coming back if she wasn't so skilled. And, I have a problem with ingrown hairs and she's been able to help me find ways to manage that as well. I see her monthly and she get booked up regularly because she's the best. I cannot echo her other clients enough, Amber is the one you want to see for your waxing and aesthetician needs! read more

I have always been afraid of waxing! I went to Amber right before my wedding in September, and haven't looked back!! Amber is so patient and answered every single question I had with my first wax. After that its like talking to my homegirl! Lol! She's amazing and I absolutely recommend her to everyone! read more

Amber is amazing! Shes clean, friendly, and very professional! My boyfriend and I went in, both for brazillians! It was his first, but she made us both feel very comfortable. She was very gentle and the experience was relaxing! Also, the dishes of chocolate everywhere was a plus! ;) read more

Amber was great, accommodating, responsive. Just had legs waxed so far but plan to bring her all my waxing business!

I went to Amber for my first ever Brazilian wax experience. She was amazing! So knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable.

I am so glad I found Amber. My regular Esthetician is out of town for an extended period. I was nervous about trying someone new but desperately needed to get some waxing. I picked Amber based on all the wonderful reviews and I'm really glad I did! She is fast, professional, and gives useful advice. I already booked my next appointment with Amber and recommend her waxing services with no reservations. read more

I concur with all the reviews regarding Amber's professionalism, sweetness and energy to make you feel comfortable in a situation that can tend to be not so comfortable . I have been going to Amber for facials and Brazilian waxes for about 8 months now. Each time I look forward to seeing Amber not only to touch up the kitty or relax for a facial, but also to have that relaxing moment to catch up on girl talk . Kudos to Amber and Congrats on the new place~ read more

I have been to other establishments in the area that offer waxing and I have to say that I didn't have the best experience. The person I was working with was really fast and actually caused bleeding. Plus, if I'm doing a brazilian wax the last thing I need is an attitude from the esthetician - it's no cake walk for me either. So, I was apprehensive when I came to Amber - the great thing was that she couldn't have made me feel more comfortable!! Amber has a great personality and her studio is warm, comfortable and feels really homey. I get a little shy and awkward about doing something as intimate as a brazilian - but I completely forgot about how weird it was working with Amber. She is a really easy person to talk to and the experience always flys by. As waxing goes, her treatments really hurt as little as possible, much less than the other place I've been. She doesn't rush it and is attentive to making the experience as comfortable as possible! I also really like that Amber is an ambitious young woman with her own studio at such a young age. I definitely want to support another young woman's diligence and hard work to make a mark in her field. I think she has come so far at such a young age because once you come to her you keep coming to her. I also appreciate how you can make an appointment quickly and easily via text. read more

Amber is AMAZING!!! I will not go to anyone else for a wax. Over the years, I have been to over a hundred salons in the Bay Area, and Amber is hands down the best!! Her attention to detail is impeccable, and my skin never has any irritation or ingrown hair like other times I have waxed with other people. read more

I just felt the need to come back and testify that Amber is still the best. I'll never go anywhere else.

If you don't enjoy being waxed you're clearly not coming to Amber. Exceptional service every time!!!

Omg! What can I say, Amber is awesome!!! I've been going to her for years now (religiously). All the rave reviews about Amber is true! She is extremely informative, painless (as much as a Brazilian wax can be) I would highly recommend her to anyone! read more

I am still a loyal customer of Amber's after all these years. Her services continue to be top notch! Always nice & personable too. My previous review stands to this day. Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend Amber for waxing, and especially for getting a Brazilian. I moved from the Oakland area and really miss her ( i have not found someone up to par out east)/ Until I moved, I went to Amber every 4-5 weeks for maintenance and I was a very satisfied customer for over a year. Amber is a gem in the east bay! read more

What can I say I have been waxing for about 10 years and amber's essential touch is the fist place where I felt no pain and felt like i was at home. Her prices are more then reasonable and she is very accommodating to my hectic life. I gave essential touch 5 stars. One for all my requirements for a great place to beautify one self. Clean friendly painless not expensive accommodating read more

Fantastic waxing experience - period. I went to Amber because of her rave reviews on Yelp -- and I feel like karma-wise -- I need to pass the good deed on.... I have been waxing for literally decades and have been to many different estheticians on both coasts -- and really Amber was amazing. -High quality wax -VERY good waxing skill -super pleasant and fun and body positive Amber is a real gift to women -- such skill and kindness is a rare combination! read more

Love. Amber was the best. No pain, super clean, very friendly and efficient. Just the right balance between conversation to make you comfortable. Amber's the girl for all my waxing needs. Always an excellent job, that's about as painless as a wax can ever be. She makes you feel at ease, leaves you smooth as can be, and all that with a sweet, friendly and professional attitude. So glad I found her! read more

Amber is the best waxer I've had and I don't plan on going to anyone else. She makes my Brazilians and underarm waxing as painless as possible and I always come out feeling fresh and unstoppable. Amber makes me feel very comfortable and I feel like I can talk to her about anything! I've already recommended her to friends and will continue to do so for anyone looking for waxing services. read more

thinking brazilian? and i'm *not* talking about the food or the men. don't even think of doing it without blue wax--or without amber! i'll be honest, getting a brazilian is, well, a pretty intimate experience. and i'm not shy but i wasn't exactly looking forward to it. amber made it really easy though. she's a total professional and has such a warm, lovely personality. i've been going to her for more than a year now and wouldn't go to anyone else. the blue wax she uses makes a brazilian feel like a regular bikini wax--and often it's even easier. i live in rockridge so the drive to montclair is a little out of my way but it's worth it! read more

She is absolutely the BEST. I meet her through Yelp. I came from Argentina where Brazilian is very important and before her, I didn't find a place with good results. If somebody wants to try brazilian for the first time, MUST to go with Amber!!!!! Silvana read more

I just went to Amber for my first Brazilian and I can't rave about it enough. I was kind of scared to get my first one after hearing how badly it hurts and how awkward it is to bare all in front of a stranger. But Amber didn't feel like a stranger, she was extremely nice and personable and clearly loved what she was doing! It hurt, but not as badly as I thought it would because she knows what she is doing. Everything was clean, she never double dipped, and it was overall a great experience! 100% worth the money and I'll definitely be going back! read more

First let me make it clear - Brazilians are NOT a fun way to have attention paid to one's lady bits. Occasionally, one must make concessions, and allow a total stranger access and permission to terrorize your most sensitive of areas. It is what a lady must endure. That said, I must also clarify my status as a lone wolf of wanderers: I travel high, far, and low in search of waxes when the moon is right, and I look hairy and scary. I show loyalty to none: and I have been to so many different places I have lost count. Some of them are "high end" and located on College Ave. That's how I roll when the husband gets paid! All this being said: Amber is the bomb!!! I found her on Yelp, decided to take a chance and found her to be professional, accommodating, very nice, and so knowledgeable about waxing and skin care, I almost felt like I was back in school (in a good way!). For the first time since 1998, back when I lived in my hometown of L.A. and went to a fellow Middle Eastern-er who understood/ did not fear my uncontrollable bush, I said the words I thought I would never say again: "Book me now for five weeks from today." It was practically painless, neat, clean, and three hours later, I am STILL not burning. Yay! A happy ending!! This wandering, hairy wolf has found a home. :) read more

All roads lead back to Amber. To this day, she does the least painful most thorough Brazilian I have ever received.

First off, I'd like to say that Amber is a warm and friendly person and she really did a fantastic job with my Brazilian wax. She knows what she's doing, and she does it quickly, which is about as good as it gets with a brazilian. My reason for the poor review is that, like other customers, I found the experience less than professional. The room isn't close to relaxing with its tacky decorations and bright florescent lights, that weren't turned down at all. She talked the entire time. When she finished with the waxing, to clean off the excess she wiped me down with her hand, rather than giving me a cream or oil to wipe myself. Then she made a phone call while I was getting dressed, never leaving the room. I understand that being the last appointment for the day, she needed to get things wrapped up, but she was rushing me out. While I was signing the receipt she was putting her coat on and turning off lights. Sorry, but I think I'll be looking for another spa. read more

5 STARS for Amber!!!! As good as it gets. I went to Amber based on the reviews on Yelp and I must say she lives up to her reputation. I was looking for reviews that said no pain, less pain, virtually painless, minimal pain and I found all of that in her reviews. I went for a Brazilian and underarms and the service was impeccable. Her technique and products made my waxing experience bearable and I will certainly be back in 5 weeks. This was my first time meeting her and our chemistry was instant, felt like I'd known her for years. A must when you're going for a personal service such as a Brazilian. We laughed and talked during my service, she was very knowledgable about her craft, shared a lot of information on the do's and dont's of waxing and how to care for my skin afterwards. The atmosphere was comfortable and sanitary, she was ready for me when I got there and she took her time with me to ensure comfort and quality. She also coached me all the way through my wax with breathing techniques. Her prices are reasonable, location (Montclair) pleasant and I feel like I could hang out with her. That's just how great my experience was with Amber. A must try! read more

Amber is amazing ! After one bad waxing experience it took me years to try waxing again. My first appointment with Amber was exactly what I needed. Her personality is very down to earth and welcoming. She get's things done efficiently and quickly. People seem to be complaining about her talking. Me personally I'd prefer a nice chat with the person who I'm trusting with such a delicate matter. She keeps me entertained and I look forward to catching up with her. I've been going every month for the last 8 months and I will not go to anyone else !!! read more

I've been getting waxed for quite some time now at another establishment, but never truly satisfied. It was always someone different doing the waxing and not everyone was thorough and gentle. I decided to go to Amber's Essential Touch, which is 32 miles from home, and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!! Amber is by far superior to other estheticians. She is so professional, meticulous in preparation and procedure, gentle, and the ambiance of the establishment is very inviting.
