Groovy's place however has poor customer service and management skills all around. My previous conversation with the manager about my previous visit was not helpful.I had to sit through her boring ass making excuses for grown ass adults acting like children. My son has been going to Tangles and Knots since he was one. Every time has been a great experience. Mrs Lavonda knows how to make a child feel comfortable when getting there hair cut. They get to watch tv while they get the hair done. Then they get a sweet treat afterwards only after the parent says it's ok. If you have a smaller child they also have a cute fire truck that they can sit in and ring the bell too. I drive about 30 minutes to get to Garland and it's well worth it. 10/10 would recommend!

The very kind cashier put me on hold to ask Andrea if she could take a walk-in around 3:00 PM. I was told Andrea was available as long as we arrived within the next 20 minutes. When my son and I arrived, the cashier greeted us and said Andrea was finishing up with another client and would be right with us. We sat down in the salon. Andrea clearly saw us come in, yet she did not greet or acknowledge us in any way. Andrea then proceeded to check out the father and son who were before us. During checkout, she asked the father, "Are you from Pakistan?" He replied, "No, from India." Andrea then responded, "People from Pakistan tip $3. We live off our tips." The father said nothing and left. I was shocked by the prejudiced and inappropriate comment. After he left, Andrea continued to ignore me and my son and sat down as if we were not there. I then spoke up and said, "We called ahead to make sure you could fit us in. Are you available?" Andrea responded rudely, "Who said I would take you?" I explained that the cashier had called her and confirmed availability. Andrea then glared at the cashier and replied in a hostile tone, "I don't know why she would tell you that." I told her that if she was unable to take us, that was completely fine. She paused for several seconds and repeated, with the same attitude, that she didn't know why the cashier would say that. At that point, I told her, "I would rather you not cut my baby's hair if you're having a bad day." She responded, "I'm actually in a good mood." Given her behavior, I gathered my things and left. As I was leaving, the cashier asked what happened. I explained that I would not tolerate Andrea's attitude or behavior. This was our fifth visit to Kiddie Salon and, unfortunately, our last. Our usual stylist, Amanda, had quit, and Andrea was the only option available that day. Based on this experience, I can honestly say we will not be returning.

The salon was clean and there were little car salon chairs, TVs, and tablets with all sorts of kids programming to help distract them during their cut. Lanore did an incredible job with our son and she was so sweet with him and was able to work around his fidgeting and playing around. It was also such a quick haircut and came out incredible! This is his best haircut yet! We will definitely be bringing him back. She even told us that they are offering a special at the moment called Toddler Tuesdays, so it's $15 haircuts every Tuesday! We will be taking advantage of the special and bringing him in more often with the hopes to get him more and more accustomed to haircuts. I also saw two other kids (a boy and girl) haircuts before our appointment and their hair came out great too! I highly recommend this place!
