Always has dogs so worth the drive off of 5 going from Portland to Grants Pass and back. Huge space and covered area with picnic tables and free standing chairs. So far responsible pet owners. Huge big dog area next to it. The only downside for being on a roadtrip is no facilities for the humans. There is a closed up building at the parking lot but no bathrooms. My tip is park at Albertsons and use their bathroom. Then cross the street and there is a small underpass for pedestrians to get over to the park. About 5-8 min drive off the highway. read more

Eugene's hottest dog park is AMAZON SMALL DOG PARK. This park has everything! Schnauzers, chihuahuas, poodles, live rats, terriers, pugs, and WAIT! Is that Cezar Millan? No, it's a guy that drifted over from the skate park to bum a smoke. The small dog park is completely fenced in and isn't as scary as "general population" next door with the big dogs. This is interesting because there is a big and small dog park at this location yet only the small dog park is on Yelp. So before you go know there is a large dog park with plenty of room for all to play and a separate small dog park for people so inclined. Both parks are a decent size so you never feel trapped by a dog you don't want your dog to play with. Amazon Dog Park gets the job done. Even though we don't have a small dog, I do see the benefit of the separate area for those that do. Otherwise, it's just a large field with a couple of picnic tables and VERY little in terms of shade, so be mindful of the temperature/time of day you go (especially in the summer). The one thing that really bothers me about this park is the amount of poo that is NOT picked up by owners. Every time we've gone here it's like walking through a minefield. Folks, a public dog park doesn't mean I-don't-have-to-pick-up-after-my-dog-park. I recommend checking out the Alton Baker Dog Park. Even if you live in S. Eugene, it'll be worth your trip. read more

Wow! What a great, HUGE dog park! We were in town visiting my cousin, and we took our two pups to the park. There were tons of super nice dogs and owners, SO much space for the pups to run around, water spigots and pools for the pups to cool down in, and trees and shade structures galore. Amazon Small Dog Park has been a great place to bring my dog. Over the past couple of months some dog owners have taken it upon themselves to police the park. They have been rude and obnoxious. If they think your dog looks like it is over 25 lbs, they are bringing out scales, getting in people faces, yelling and act aggressively. Bullies! It might be time to change from a maximum weight requirement to a shoulder height requirement. Some small dogs carry more weight and are not an issue. read more

I've been to this park a few times now and have always been disappointed. (I like to give places a few tries before I give up on them.) My biggest complaint is the dog feces, which are everywhere. The water area is a mess and spills onto the walking path. The park itself is mostly a flat desolate piece if land with nothing of interest, other than a fire hydrant in the middle (popular with the dogs) and a fenced area for small dogs. If you're looking for a place to take your dog so he can safely run around, this park is ok. And it caters to the small dogs too with the special fenced area. If you want a park that's pleasant, clean, interesting and makes you want to return, go somewhere else. read more

Size wise it's pretty small compared to the other parks in Eugene...I just went up to wanye mortis ranch for the first time and it's massive!! The dog park has two separate areas; small and large dogs which is always a great option. The dogs in the small dog area were all friendly and the pet parents were equally as friendly. My dog had a great time running around. I would like to see an update to the muddy grounds, however. They need to place some gravel down and then overlay it with grass. It is located in Eugene so ya know, there's some rain and that causes mud. There is a nice covered area with a picnic table to get out of the sun. It's too bad they didn't plant some mature trees as there is little shade besides the covered area. There are small trees that were planted, but they won't be bigger for a while. All in all a good place to bring your dog. read more

Don't let the title fool you. There is a large and small dog area for everyone to play. This park is overall pretty big. I have a Rottweiler that is well trained and loves to play with the bigger dogs. My only complaint is that A LOT of people bring their small dogs or shy dogs into the big dog play area and then freak out when the bigger dogs want to play. SMALL DOG OWNERS!!! there is a small dog fenced area for them to ensure their safety from bigger breeds and lots of chairs and shaded area for you to sit and relax. If you are not comfortable with bigger breeds please take your small dog to the smaller section. FOR BIG DOG OWNERS, I suggest bringing your own chairs to sit in, or a towel Incase your dog gets wet. Also, do not be afraid to stick up for your bigger dog if there were to be a problem with small dog owners. read more

We've heard other owners have had bad run-ins here, something we're leery of, since our pug was once bitten badly in a dog park (not in Eugene). Can get fairly marshy. Amazon Dog Park is the perfect place to let your pooch run until he or she is tuckered out and ready for a nap. Complete with picnic tables to hang out at and a roundabout trail to allow humans to exercise, this park is one of the most popular and active doggie spots in Eugene. There is also a "small dog park" for dogs under 25 pounds. For the most part people are pretty attentive to their dogs and do a good job of cleaning up after their dogs, however there are always a few people that fall short. I haven't seen any bad altercations between dogs and I like how they have little plastic pools of water for them to play in on a hot day or for you to rinse them off on a rainy/muddy day. One day when I arrived someone has left a box of brand new tennis balls for the dogs which I thought was so sweet and considerate. There is a parking lot recently right next to it as well for people who can't walk far but need their dog to run and socialize. read more

My dog loves to play here! It's so nice to have a small section (25 pounds and under). It makes me feel a lot safer. Plenty of people come here which means lots of friends for olive! It is best to go when it hasn't been raining much because it dies get very muddy. They have made some improvements to the park recently which is nice. My partner and I are traveling through Oregon with our pups. We started are journey from Washington with intentions of reaching California by midnight. Our wonderful companions have been with us the entirety of the trip. We usually stopped at any park as we could along the way. Luck would have this park was easily accessible. It is open and friendly with all dogs and their slaves. There was plenty of open space, grass, trees, and baths. The dogs were very spoiled. We were grateful that this park existed. This place is the perfect spot to bring our four little chihuahuas. We love the small dog park and the people that frequent it have all been really nice. This is a very nice park as a whole very large and lots of activities. I understand what people say about the dog park being at all different levels, the park is good size for large dogs but the water area/mud area needs some revamping. It needs better drainage, maybe put some rock in there to help stop the mud and a channel for the excess water to drain to a grassy area. read more

Came to this park for the first time, both with a dog and this park. I enjoyed it greatly. My dog is just 3 Months old and she loved it! People there were very kind and made sure their dogs weren't too rough with my puppy. Out of the 5 or so dog parks in Eugene I like this one the least. For whatever reason it seems to attract aggressive dogs (not always). Its benefits is that it can be dryer than the others. read more
