Super friendly people that came with their friendly pets! Everyone was cautious and monitoring their pets behavior while here which was great. Big park :) A guy brought his remote control truck and all the dogs were chasing it, but mine was going the hardest She was for sure the smallest one too. She went too hard and needed a bath and sleep after

Wow! What a great, HUGE dog park! We were in town visiting my cousin, and we took our two pups to the park. There were tons of super nice dogs and owners, SO much space for the pups to run around, water spigots and pools for the pups to cool down in, and trees and shade structures galore. We had an awesome time!

It's not a bad park, I like that there are two different areas! Size wise it's pretty small compared to the other parks in Eugene...I just went up to wanye mortis ranch for the first time and it's massive!! The only thing is no other dogs, so if you wanted to socialize your dogs it's not the place, take them to Amazon!

    Happy pup

Really disappointed. Small dog park not accessible from the parking lot where you enter big dog park.

I searched Yelp to see if this park had any reviews and understand possibly why it never was added…read more My theory is, anyone who has been here with there dog wants to keep it a secret to themselves. I myself had this concern but this is my second visit and decided to share this hidden gem. Parking is limited and I mean limited. Hopefully I'm as lucky the 3rd time when visiting Zumwalt. I don't want to figure out where to park offsite. Once your parked and ready to go you'll notice a roadway however the gate is locked for any motor vehicle to drive on. This is a plus since many dog owners take dogs off leash and walk down this road to get to main area of park. The park is huge but keep in mind to those sensitive dog owners who don't want any dogs near their precious dog this is an open park. No secured areas for small dogs. Go at your own risk. I think because of the large open property there is less anxiety for the dogs because they don't feel trapped. Three things you'll find, water to swim, open green grass to run, and trails to walk your dog off leash which I really find fun since most trails require dog to be on leash. That being said, if you found this post keep it hush hush to ourselves (LOL). I shared some photos and videos of the lake, trails and park. Hope this helps. By the way the water had light waves but yesterday the water was calm. Enjoy and let me know how it went

A Beautiful Return to a Place Full of Nature and History…read more Both my wife and I had visited this spot before when we lived in the area, so with a little time to spare before lunch nearby, we decided to revisit it with her son and daughter-in-law. Nestled on a forested butte just east of the University of Oregon in Eugene, this area is absolutely stunning. The rhododendron garden is especially beautiful, offering a peaceful and scenic escape that feels tucked away from the city. Beyond its natural beauty, the area is steeped in history. One of the most notable connections is to Steve Prefontaine--a legendary runner and seven-time NCAA champion for Oregon. He trained in and around Hendricks Park and tragically passed away in a car accident on a winding road just below the park. His legacy lives on not only in the running world but also in the early success of Nike, where he became the brand's first sponsored athlete and helped elevate it to global prominence. Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or just looking for a quiet place to explore, this area is well worth a visit.

I grew up in the Cal Young area or Santa Clara, so I wasn't very often in this part of town and though Eugene isn't a huge city, you can easily not hit other areas of town. Hendricks Park is the oldest park in the city. It's mostly known as a rhododendron garden, but it has native plants as well. There are trails throughout for you to explore the place. It's really peaceful and beautiful when the weather is nice, and you'll forget you're in the city.
