Butcher Counter at 41st Location is a Problem: The rest of…read morethis Whole Foods is genuinely great, and the staff throughout the store are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the butcher counter is a serious weak spot -- both in quality and service. On the craft side, the butchering is sloppy. The NY strip steaks are being cut from the nerve end of the loin, which any skilled butcher knows should be repurposed rather than sold as premium full strips. The pork chops have the same problem -- end cuts with that ragged, uneven "cap" where the muscle narrows are being sold right alongside uniform center-cut chops, at the same price, with no distinction made. These aren't nitpicky complaints; they're basic standards that a full-service butcher counter should meet. With one notable exception (there's one guy there who's actually great - tall, Caucasian, ~30 YOM), the service ranges from indifferent to actively rude. Expect to be ignored before anyone acknowledges you. If you order half a pound of ground beef, they'll grab two-thirds of a pound and start wrapping without asking, then get an attitude if you point it out. Ask for two pork chops and you might get one that's half the size of the other. Request specific pieces from the case and you'll be treated like you're being difficult. The biggest issue for me: they wrap chicken directly in butcher paper without a plastic bag first. I learned this the hard way when chicken juice leaked all over my refrigerator overnight. That's not just sloppy -- it's a food safety problem. I want to support this store, and I genuinely enjoy shopping there. But the butcher counter's combination of poor technique and poor service means I won't shop here if I need to buy meat. It's a real shame.

Damn, I enjoy the açaí bowls here so much. But today I went in and I was the only person in here waiting almost 8 minutes just to get my order taken. Then someone came in from outside to take my order, he looked like he was super high. Then I realized he had a Vape pen around his neck and everything (I work in cannabis so not trippin but don't let it effect your service). I asked if I could have the granola taken off and add almond butter, he told me he could take the granola off but he'd have to charge for the almond butter, which I was fine with. But the way he presented it was just rude, I wasn't asking to not be charged but he made that assumption, didn't look at me the entire transaction, and just didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I then sat for probably 10-15 minutes waiting for my bowl to be made even though I was the only one in line when I arrived and it was just not the quality I'm used to from here. Super bummed!!! read more

They are right on a main street with parking in the back and they have a cute outside seating area with chairs and umbrellas. It's a pretty large and nice size coffee shop with ample seating and an extended couch/booth area. They have a lot of outlets to do work quietly or to read or charge your phone. I really like that they close at 6 PM too a lot of coffee shops close at three or four. If you're here long enough and haven't eaten, they sell food and snacks. Also a pretty good option of beverages like coconut water, soda, waters, and smoothies, or plain sodas. Their specialty coffees look delicious and are just my vibe and I can't wait to try them when the weather gets colder.

Lulu's on Mission welcomed us warmly--doors open and lights on--right at 6 a.m. sharp. At first, I was hesitant. This particular location had only a few Yelp reviews, and I tend to be cautious when ratings are based on such limited feedback. But my friends encouraged me to give it a try, and I'm glad they did. The variety of pastries on display was surprisingly robust for such an early hour. I ordered the blackberry citrus scone and appreciated how the tart fruit balanced the sweetness--though the sugar topping was a bit heavy-handed, slightly overpowering the more delicate flavors beneath. I also tried a sip of my friend's cappuccino--it was smooth, well-balanced, and the latte art didn't disappoint. Another friend opted for a matcha latte with vanilla syrup, and her content smile said it all. At an hour when most people are still half-asleep, our barista greeted us with genuine energy and warmth. The description currently reads "cozy coffee shop with ocean views"--and while the space is indeed cozy and inviting, you certainly can't see the ocean from this location.
