This place is wonderful!, there is very little foot traffic and tons of people ready to help. The prices are competitive with other major chains. Seriously, is there a store manager or is this place run like a commune where everyone just does what they want to do? Only go in there for the salad bar. Went in yesterday at noon during lunch hour when the place is always overrun by local school kids. Guess what? Saw at least 20 employees on the floor but ONLY ONE (1!) register open with at least 15 customers waiting in line for it while 4 employees were within 10 feet of each other stocking the produce section alone. How is that even possible in any functioning corporate retail environment??? There is always at least one employee standing 30 feet from the door just twiddling their thumbs (at best). Are they there to prevent walk-out thefts? If so, why don't any other grocery stores need them? Why has the "Express" check out lane NEVER been open since this store opened? Never! Hey, Jeff Bezos! The expression is NOT "the customer always comes LAST," which apparently is the operatiional plan for this store. The regional manager should be fired as well as the store manager - - if there is one. IF there is one they need to get their ass out on the floor, especially during peak traffic times and f-ing observe what's (not) going on! This amazon fresh store is expensive. Bernie sanders YUGE. lots of high end food. They have fresh lobster and crab ravioli! How cool is that? There's a soup and salad bar, pizza counter, deli, etc etc. If you don't want to wait in line at tge check stand, you can shop with their "smart" carts. When you put an item in the cart, a computer scanner puts it in your online cart. If you take something out, the cart computer minuses the item. Plenty of free parking. The most depressing grocery store I've ever been in. It's like a fluorescent jail. Amazon can not design experiences or brand for crap. Come shop in this large grey box with sad lighting!! We'll throw in employees who are depressed because we treat them so poorly also. Be kind to Amazon employees - I've never met one that's happy. Including very high up folks at corporate (and I am talking people making millions). Anyhow back to this store. Not a lot of organic, everything seemed sold out and the vibe is bad because Amazon doesn't value culture or making employees happy. Accidentally walked out of the store with the dash cart, which I did not know you couldn't take to your car (kind of defeats the purpose of a cart but whatever). The security person came running outside and started yelling at me, accusing me of purposefully trying to forcefully break the cart (I was not). I told him in a calm voice that he didn't need to get so upset, I didn't know you couldn't take them outside. He screamed "WELL NOW YOU DO!!!!" at the top of his lungs. He then jerked the cart out of my hands and dragged it into the store, shoving it over by the hand baskets. Then he yelled "YOU COULD HAVE JUST USED ONE OF THESE!!!" I had had enough by then, so I said (calmly) "Well, these don't have barcode scanners on them and I wanted to try them. You can keep your judgment to yourself." His head exploded and he basically chased me out of the store, staying inches from me, screaming at me that I needed to know "the protocol." Dude, I don't know who you're mad at, but it's not me. The store is clean, spacious and the cashier is professional. Im giving it one star due to this very creepy old asian man worker in there. Im not sure if he is a worker there. I opened a fridge and was picking up a product. This scary creepy man suddenly appeared behind my back and talked to me behind me saying let him know if there is anything he can help with. That is NOT customer service, I was frightened and looked back and saw him standing behind me. Your store should really see how this worker behaves. That was very scary. read more

I love all things Amazon...Amazon Fresh was just another bonus for me! I avoided opening day on 3/18 and went mid Sunday. The parking lot had plenty of spaces. They had one EV charging station (there could be others) and a long line of spots for curb side pick-up. I was greeted by friendly faces and was given a lesson on how to use the fancy cart loaded with cameras. I love that I could shop using my ap and check out by paying through my ap. The cart was high tech but only holds two bags. It also has a 50lb weight limit so don't use it if you plan on buying soda and water in bulk. They did offer regular carts, both large and small. The floral area has a great selection with competitive prices. The produce section was equally amazing. I saw exotics (cherimoya), organic and the usually suspects. I was thrilled to be able to find lovely blood oranges. They had a nice but small meat and seafood section. I walked the perimeter and then went up and down a few isles. They have directional isle due to covid. I love that the isles are extra wide. This alone will have me returning for my shopping needs. They had a great prepared sandwich section, salads and sides, desserts, sushi, pizza, and rotisserie chicken. Prices are incredibly decent, could be due to the grand opening to get you hooked. The artisan cheese selection is minimal but would be ok in a pinch. I do prefer the Whole Foods cheese selections. There was a small amazon goods section. You can process returns here and pick up your packages. The liquor selection surprised me in a pleasant way. The wine selection is great for the typical pallet, not for the connoisseur. First experience was fabulous. I look forward to shopping here more often when I am not looking for specialized items. read more

Been enjoying the hot bar/salad bar at this location for quite awhile now. Today I stopped to pick up lunch. Price increased $1 a pound and all the condiments have been eliminated. We, again, want to recognize a couple of associates at the Long Beach Amazon Fresh store. they are EVA and SUSIE, who are outstanding and they never have a negative attitude. Always very positive and personal when serving you at cashiering or arrival at the store. More stores need to have employees like EVA and SUSIE who are helpful in all aspects, very professional, and with smiles all the time we shop weekly at this Amazon Fresh store. Also, the store is kept clean all the time along with 3 associates in the store pulling items for customers asking my wife and me "if we found everything ok" as we were walking down the aisles. This is the first we heard this however when we do see employees in the store they give you a "hello and with a smile". It felt bigger, seemed more welcoming, and I liked the store layout.. Clean and orderly just like the other store. With a discount coupon in hand, most prices became more reasonable. The store is laid out very well like an ordinary grocery store; you do not need to be a member to check out here! But you also can be a prime member and shop using a "smart" cart as pictured to do your shopping and checkout using the "smart cart" area. You can also purchase groceries online or on the app and sit at the restaurant or drink bar while you wait for your groceries to be ready, then pick up for free and take them home. The items seem to be reasonably priced and organized well in the store! Also, parking seems easy and not hard to get. read more

I am a regular to this store now. Ive been coming for about 6 months. Mostly for returns and some shopping. There is a man there who is short on the heavy side almost bald. He wears a black jacket and baggy jeans. He has made sexual remarks about me to other workers multiple times. He would stand near me while i was facing the opposite direction. Or bite his lips.Yesterday was my last straw! I asked the blonde cashier who this man was and she told me he was the store manager. This larger location gives more room for the Amazon shopping associates and regular customers. There's more room in the aisles to nav. The produce section is bigger, with self-label weigh scales and more produce sold by weight. And the biggest factor, the workers here are far better trained and capable than those at the Cerritos location. After speaking with the produce manager, it's clear to me that the workers here are much more passionate about their roles at this grocery. I will shop here over the other location if I can afford the ever increasing prices. read more

Store has similar items to Ralphs and other big name stores. Probably slightly less on the niche items you may find elsewhere. Store is always clean and spacious. This store seems more busy with fullfilling online orders than in store customers. Nothing wrong with that. The reason this place loses a star for me is that it feels slightly more expensive than other stores for the same item. They do mail out coupons from time to time that really just make the prices the same as other stores. That being said, because it isn't as busy and spacious... it's more calm to shop here. read more

First time in a Amazon Fresh Store. I was returning a pkg. Never having to return a pkg there, I didn't know the process. I went to the Pickup/Return Counter. The clerk did not greet me just looked at me. I told him I'd like to return 3 packages and I guess I'm to show you the QR code. He reply Yeah. I did so for all 3 packages. I asked him do I get a receipt or something ? His reply was You should get an email. Then he turned away to talk with the worker that was waiting behind him. I decided to walk around and came upon the Self Serve Deli dept. I decided to get the Monday Special of Pizza and 20 oz beverage. Not sure where the beverages were. There were 2 workers further down the aisle - one behind the counter and one in the aisle. They were busy in a conversation. I was waiting for her to come assist me. After 5 minutes I went and interrupted their discussion and asked where are the beverages that are for this special ? She pointed to the refrigerated doors further down across the aisle and said I think they're in there. Went to self check out.. Didn't know had to use my Amazon Prime Card for the discount...eventually figured it out. I will never shop at that store again. Extremely felt unappreciated as a customer. read more

Was shopping here today with my little one, when an employee came up to me, saying that my little one couldn't be in the shopping cart because it interferes with the internet connection of the smart cart. I have shopped this way multiple times here without any problems. After I acknowledge her request to take my little one of the cart, she then proceeds to open my bag in the cart, touch my items, take out some miscellaneous personal items, and tell me that I can't have the personal items in there. I tried to explain to her that the personal items don't mess up the scale feature because I put my items in first before signing into the smart cart. I have also shopped this way multiple times without any problems. She continues to tell me I can't have these items in my cart. So because she's taken the items out my cart, my cart is now beeping at me telling me that I took things out. I am flustered, and decide to leave without buying anything. I had been wanting to stop in but every Saturday I had passed by it looked way too crowded. I was able to stop in before 9am this past Saturday to check it out and what a beautiful store! Super clean, very inviting, high quality products but also pretty pricey on most items. I did buy a few things that I thought were good prices. The produce was amazing but I did not care to spend 2.99/lb for apples or other similar fruits. When I heard that an Amazon Fresh store opened in my very own city I was excited and so curious! Plenty of parking. Two lines to get inside the store. One line to go inside with a regular grocery cart or basket and a second line for the fancy and high tech grocery cart. I visited a few days after the store opened. While there was a small line for the fancy grocery cart, the wait wasn't long. If you choose to shop with the fancy grocery cart, you are first greeted by a friendly employee who explains how to use the cart. I was able to easily connect my Amazon account app to the cart. Items are easily charged when placed in your cart. Items that you decide you don't want to purchase are easily subtracted from your total when you take it out of your cart. Produce items have to be inputted manually on the touch screen on your cart. Checking out was very simple as all my items were automatically charged to my Amazon account. While I found my shopping experience to be new and interesting, I do not feel that it would make typical grocery shopping trip better. The fancy grocery cart has a weight limit and you are unable to buy certain items using the cart. The cart also seems to be a little smaller compared to other carts, encouraging smaller and lighter items. You cannot take the fancy cart outside and unload your groceries. You must either carry your paper bagged items by hand or transfer your bagged items to a regular grocery cart. Amazon Fresh seemed to sell very common items, produce, and hot meals/baked goods. I guess I expected a little more character, such as unique/appetizing food items that would encourage me to take another visit to this grocery store. I also bought the rotisserie chicken which was a disappointment. It lacked seasoning and moisture. Overall a pleasant and new experience. I recommend you check out this new grocery store in town and see for yourself if it'll be your new go-to spot to shop! read more

Meat department seriously lacking. Low quality meats, no prime or quality cuts. Also, the shelves aren't even stocked fully. They have a large selection of produce but nothing special. The hot food section is Walmart like and not the best quality. No boars head here. Ralphs, Pavillions, and Staters remain far superior. The prices are not great either. read more
