Definitely a fun place to check out for a new grocery store experience, but the prices are NOT ideal. Even with the 50% off coupons they sent in the mail, the prices at Aldi were still cheaper for almost everything. The best deal for sure is the 15 cent bananas, but other than that.... even the Amazon brand products are more than store brand products at other stores. I would like to check out the self-serve restaurant sometime, but that might be my last visit. read more

While we're waiting for the Upland location to hopefully eventually open, my husband and I came to Amazon Fresh for the first time a couple weeks ago. You can't really get in until you can the barcode on your Amazon App, so that took my a second to figure out. Once inside everything was organized so neatly. The fruit is where we started first and the options of different apples were really cool. They have a meat dept, dairy, shelf items, etc. There's even a deli inside that has hot foods you can fill up yourself or get pizza/ sandwiches, even a coffee machine. We were charged twice for one of our items and when I got home I contacted Amazon and they reimbursed me for both items! That was very nice and saved me a trip to going back to the store. Prices for their products were not bad, pretty much what you'd expect in other stores and they always have some items marked down. I don't think this would be my go-to store, especially since I'd have to go out of my way to go here, but I'd definitely go back. read more

We came here the other day and liked what I saw. When we first walked in the young lady explained to us how everything worked and told us employees would be around if we had any questions. She explained that we needed to scan to go in and scan when we leave. She also explained that anything we don't want would need to be returned to the where we got it from to avoid getting charged. The store was clean and offered a variety of products. Cons - Their food bar area also seemed to have a large selection of items although they appeared to be closed at the time. - I did notice that some items are a bit more expensive here than in other super markets. I also noticed that some items did not have prices on them. Overall, I could see myself going here more often if i lived closer. A solid 4/5 stars. read more

I used to hate grocery shopping before Amazon fresh . I dislike making small talk at grocery stores with cashiers . I was getting my groceries at Trader Joe's for years and would never look forward to the forced conversations from the workers asking me what my plans are for the day . I get to walk in and out of Amazon fresh without having to speak to anybody . It's an antisocial girls dream . To top of my great experience, my local LA Verne store usually has a worker at the front of the door with long black hair that looks like a real life bratz doll I tell all my friends and cowerkers to check this store out because it's amazing. However, going to Amazon Fresh today was a nightmare. 1st problem was getting their AI shopping cart to recognize my Prime Account. 2nd was getting the cart to scan my purchases. 3rd was finding the items that were in their ad. 4th was when I went to self check out and my one item scanned higher than their ad price. First visit and definitely deserving of a 5-star. My boyfriend and I were first timers and a little nervous on what to do. Upon entering the store we were greeted by Kassidy. Kassidy is absolutely amazing! She explained everything in detail and walked us through the entire process on what to do start to finish and how to know what deals pertained to Prime members. Her customer service is impeccable. She has the type of customer service that just feels natural and one-of-a-kind. The store has a cool layout and vibe. It wasn't busy when we went. Price wise, some things are well priced and some were higher than nearby stores, which we kind of expected. It was cool to know about Prime deals (on weekly selected items, Prime members receive a 20% discount). I was surprised about the hot food bar. I didn't get to go through all the items, but definitely something to try out. They also sell hot sandwiches, pizza slices and rotisserie chicken. I love Amazon fresh because there always have few people. It's big! I like the hot food section. A lot of people buy pizza and eat it there. It was cheap! You can also, buy hot coffee and hot chocolate it's 1.99. I go to Amazon fresh all the time. They also have a food bar but it's not like whole food. The price is based on the size of the box not the weight of the food. You could buy a bigger box and share it with your family members. read more

If you haven't tried the Amazon Fresh store, you definitely should. At the very least, it's a unique shopping experience. I enter the store through the code on my Amazon app and start shopping. The store has pretty much everything a regular grocery store has plus a few random shopping items and tech items like water bottles, small gadgets and Alexa products. They have a great selection of produce, meats and baked good items. I like that they have organic produce and grass-fed meats to choose from. They also have a great selection of hot foods, soups, cold salads and an olive bar. They charge by the box and not the pound, so you simply take a box and fill it up. You'll be charged the same amount regardless of how much is in there. They also have fresh pizzas and fresh made sushi every day. It's need to watch them prep everything for the day. I haven't tried everything they offer, but what I have tried has been pretty good and fresh. If you meander towards the back of the store where the beverages are you'll find a pretty good selection of beer, wine and booze at reasonable prices. Before you can enter, you'll have to show your ID and they'll scan it. If you're looking to try something new, their cursive brand of wines that I've tried are all pretty good and really affordable. I've been pretty impressed with the place so far. It's always very clean and everyone there is very friendly. If you're looking for something specific, you can look for someone or just go up to one of several Alexa machines and just ask where you can find something. The tech is pretty impressive. My jaw dropped the first time I looked up and saw thousands of cameras. Once you're done shopping (and you enter with the app like I do), you can just walk out. You'll receive a receipt about 20 minutes later to your Amazon account. I always recommend checking it. Especially if you're like me and read ingredients because there's been a couple times when I got charged for something that I put back on the shelf. However, considering all the items I put back on the shelf because I don't like all the ingredients, it's not bad. If you do have an issue with your receipt, it's really easy to dispute it in the app. I've never had an issue. It's super convenient if you check out with the app and prices are pretty reasonable, too. I love popping in and out when I need something. At the very least, it's a fun experience you should check out once. read more

People who work here are irresponsible and treat customers/workers like trash. Hello, I'm speaking on behalf of one of my family members who works at Amazon Flex. The workers here lack customer service and understanding as they continued to not give my family member any packages. This is in a case where they arrived at the store first and continued to watch as other people received packages. This sort of behavior is inexcusable, especially in a city as friendly as La Verne. I couldn't wait for this place to open and really wanted to like this place but it was just OK. Yes, it is quite large and has an overly amount of choices for things like mustard and it did have two specific items that I do not readily find in other stores: unsweetened soy creamer and Adam's peanut butter. Perhaps it would only be these two items that I would come back here for. We also tried their pizza by the slice which is a great option if you are hungry and wanted a quick grab but it was nothing out of the ordinary. However, by evening, the hot bar was closed and no more Rotisserie chicken. Overall, I was hoping prices would be cheaper or carry other different brands to try. I also wanted to use my giftcards when checking out. I came in two days after their grand opening so perhaps they did not have that function ready yet, even though one of the store associates said it was working. Upon check out, it did not work! I have been here before but went here for Amazon Prime. I was a little disappointed that there were no limits on their dollar items, most of which I do not want to purchase. I did get pita chips, avocados, and strawberries--great price. I did not buy the sausage Kielbasa, cheese, Smart water or humus but they were $1.00 also. Lots of buy one get one free--like the bacon. I was the first one in and watched people almost run with their carts and grab 12 packages of sausages each. There were a group of 3 young adult women and their mom ( I believe) doing this all headed to different sections. In some cultures it is a free-for-all, but I am not accustomed to that here in the States; especially La Verne. I saw many people, older, looking to stretch their dollars and food budget only to find there was none left because of the grotesque animalistic actions of a few. The store is clean, workers were doing their best to explain to customers why there were no more sausages or bacon left. Seems like Amazon threw their workers "under the bus" today. I believe in capitalism, but you might consider having limits so that others may partake in these deals as well. read more

I visited here a few weeks ago for the first time. I was very surprised to see there were only a few shoppers there late in the afternoon. I usually avoid supermarkets late in the day cuz they are always packed at that time. Not so here. Price of groceries is fairly high, but groceries are a fairly good deal with the $10 off $20 or $20 off $50 coupons in the online flyer. Don't think I'd be by without the allure of the coupons, because when I tried to check out the old fashioned way (as I had a coupon and I wanted to see the receipt right away rather than get it via email in 20 mins), the checker seemed a little frustrated to have to actually physically check things, I had to ask her twice. I used the "Skip the Checkout" once, but with very small grocery run where I didn't pick things up from the shelves and put them back. Not sure if I 100% trust the system for bigger trips after seeing Yelpers complain that they get charged for things they don't actually buy. Honestly, I am not a big fan of getting the receipt around 30 minutes after the trip happens as well, because I like to make sure that the prices of the items that I bought are correct and they're fresher in my memory if I get the receipt right away. Also, after 30 minutes, I'm already home and I definitely won't be coming back to the store to point out the price difference unless it's significant. In the last two trips, I did not see any hot food for sale or rotisserie chickens around, guess they're very hot selling. This Amazon Fresh is clean and well organized, but overall, the cons outweigh the pros for me. To be honest I only go because I periodically receive a $10 or $20 coupon in the email every week. If it wasn't for the coupon I really don't see anything special about Amazon fresh. I also really can't take my kids with me because whenever they grab something I am always paranoid that the camera assumed I am going to buy it (happened twice). Further the hot food that they serve is average and doesn't taste as fresh as I would have expected. Shopping in the fruits and vegetables sections feels weird because it's not based on weight but on quantity. Lastly, you must check your Amazon app because there will be mistakes; you really won't know until a few hours later or even a few days. This was my second visit for food and groceries at Amazon Fresh. The store had everything I was looking for and more. I picked up twp packages. And I tried the hot food station. The carnitas was delicious. The cauliflower, collard greens and broccoli were deliciously seasoned. I'll skip the orange chicken next time. It was tasteless. The box needs improvement - one of the corners on the hot food box came apart on the way home. All in all, a good experience. read more

Just wanted to let the people with EBT know that if you go over your EBT balance you can only pay the rest of the groceries with cash. They have been sending people to local banks to get cash and leave their groceries at the store. They don't have split card payment,such as pay with EBT and then Credit or Debit card. This is frustrating for people with EBT. When you do just straight EBT you have to add on calculator each item because your gonna need to be precise with EBT amount,otherwise you will need to bring cash. I hope they update and get this worked out. Its very frustrating. read more

I love the concept, it's a new fun and exciting way to buy groceries. However it still has its kinks. I happen to work for Amazon but operations side of things and while I'm happy to spend my money supporting the company I already work for I can't help but feel this needs a bit more work. For instance I did pick up order today most of my items weren't bagged the way you normally would bag food for example, you don't put vegetables with raw meat and you don't load market 365 thin tortilla chips into someones trunk next to soda because during travel all the chips break. its little details that make customers return when walking in the store for the odds and ends I forgot, the cart i got was dirty and it was 8am. There was too many aa's walking around it felt crowded yet not but 3 customers in the store. The associates though were helpful. And another thing I wouldn't call amazon fresh employees associates I would call them team members "associate" feels like I'm walking into a best buy. Definitely will be returning soon! read more

First thing when you walk in you are greeted by the staff and they will assist you if are having trouble understanding the process and how to get in. The store is very clean and all the item were organized very well. We did go a few days after opening so there were a few items that were sold out. This Amazon fresh has cameras all over the store which assist with their "just walk out" program. And that is the reason you need to scan your QR code when coming in and also the amount of cameras they have in the facility. I have been there twice already and had no issue with the check out process. So far I haven't not gotten an incorrect charges. The receipt does that some time to populate in your account. Don't be alarm if you do not see your receipt right away the first day I shopped there it took about 5 hours to receive. If you end up getting an incorrect charge you may request an item refund or call the Amazon customer service per the staff that was on-site had mentioned. I cost of the food items there is about the same or $0.20-0.60 less then the Vons in La Verne. I would definitely come back here to shop. read more

Honestly i have passed by so many times but never tried it. Today I gave it a shot and i loved it. Everything is just auto scanned from your auto scan. You literally just put it in your cart/bag. Scan also before walking out and that's it. And the food! Smelled so good. I tried the pizza, clam chowder, and coffee. For the price it was perfect. I am definitely going back. When I went to open it to add condiments, I noticed the ham was moldy and the salami had a plastic casing that should have been removed before making the sandwich.
