If you're looking for a collectible and can't find something here...you're not looking hard enough. Lol This store is in the Old Market district of Omaha and was almost overwhelming. At points in my life I have collected comic books, other comic book related items, movie related merchandise, and diecast. This place has all that and more...! Shop smart and take your cell phone to stare and compare. I found a few items reasonably priced, but I found quite a few more that were well above what they could be purchased for online including shipping. One thing about collectibles though... Sometimes it's worth a few dollars more to have it in your hands. I've been surprised a few times when I received items that weren't as described or packaging was damaged in transit. Antiques and collectibles are a different market as a buyer... If you see something you want it's better to buy it right then if it's priced within reason. You may never find that same item again... Old Market is what Old Market is... It's geared to tourists and things are often a little high priced in areas like this. So is their rent usually... These areas attract a high volume of people and if you don't want to pay the marked price...someone who comes in right behind you just might. Some of the items here are a little dusty, but I guess that's to be expected with that many surfaces. Pretty hard to stay on top of all of it... The Imaginarium Old Market Mercantile is defintely worth the stop if you are into collectibles and/or nostalgia! read more

This store is crazy. It has any kind of collectible you can imagine, vintage clothes, Halloween decor, games, stickers, you name it. I felt like it was a little overwhelming for my taste, but I could see how if you really liked one of the collections they have how you would be super excited to find this spot. read more

After shopping around the market area, this stands alone as my favorite place in the entire area. I could easily spend hours on end here checking this place out. You're greeted by tons of cool signs, even aliens and Ronald McDonald too. They have video games, South park merchandise, trading cards of all sorts, all sorts of nostalgia and collectibles you wouldn't even know existed. It's a bit pricey but you're not going to find this anywhere else. read more

A decent vintage selection with ghastly price tags, swimming in mass-produced plastic trash. Over half of their stock has the quality and uniqueness of Oriental Trading Co. A few crystals caught my eye, before a closer inspection proved them to be dyed quartz and glass, with the odd heat-treated amethyst. We spent quite a bit of time in this place, and I thought it was fantastic. I really wanted to support them so I got a couple keychains and a figurine for my nephew. Not wanting to open the gift, but wanting to check it out (it's in a box), I found out that it's readily available for 60% less than I paid ($20 vs $50), and through many vendors. No one was charging $50 and some even had the MSRP listed at $40 (most just had the lower price and not the original price with a line through it). This is not an out of production, hard to find piece, nor is is marked up a "fair" amount. Disappointing, but not the end of the world. Check pricing before you buy anything. read more

Imagine some of everything. This store is loaded with goodness. Filled from top to bottom with vintage products. There is a huge selection of vintage toys here complete with a star wars room. This store is set up almost like a flea market with multiple venders thought. You could lose your self in this store for days. Think of any pop culture item and you can probably find it here, anything from the teenage mutant ninja turtles to classic Nintendo games. The prices are really good as well I found a couple small items for around a dollar and purchased a couple star wars figures for around five dollars apiece. The whole store is crammed with so much product sometimes it takes me a couple of loops just to be sure I took in all of the ever-changing products. The place isn't called Imaginarium any longer, it's called Emporium! Overall ever since Imaginarium moved done the street this place lost it's life. It lost its selection and the people are just kinda rude. They mutter and judge from the second you walk through the door. Yes, the selection is good, until you walk down the street and find the ORIGINAL Imaginarium right down the street with life, fun entertainment, and AMAZING selections! A really awesome store in Omaha's Old Market. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because I didn't buy anything my first time. You walk in and all of their stuff just overwhelms you. They have everything from toys to lunch boxes to decorations, all old and from the past. Some items are almost 30-40 years old. It was VERY cool seeing their Star Wars area. They have some of the original figurines, in their original packaging. For any toy/comic/breathing enthusiast, this is a must-stop shop! The only reason for the two stars: the girls that were working the counter did not acknowledge anyone that walked in, rather, hawk eyed them like everyone was going to steal something. The two-floor layout was expertly sorted into a plethora of categories including Star Wars, wrestling, sports, etc. I was able to find some real gems while exploring this shop. Funnnnnn place! You can get lost inside here. It is like you are stepping into some Harry Potter place in downtown. Lots of variety: star wars, video games, transformers, etc. 1980's little paradise. The WORST place I HAVE EVER gone to. I have never felt so angry or felt the need to curse at anyone, especially in a place they call a"business." I originally went to a location that's around the corner of 22nd (or 23rd) and Leavenworth(May 24) for a couch I seen online that was for sale. They had no clue what I was talking about until I showed them pictures. They told me to go to THIS horrible location because they were sure they had the couch there. I had to wait some more to hear from anyone as I sat at Imaginarium (keep in mind I was drained from a 13-hour shift) so I was just ready to go home. As I waited..the lady came to tell me that she was waiting for someone to call back and let her know if they had the couch or not. It was taking too long so she decides to take my name and number. I asked her to have someone call me at 3pm and let me know if they had the couch or not. Never got a call. So I waited today (the 25th) for a call and no one ever bothered to call me. I called them and they had no idea about the couch. Fine. Fair enough. But the REAL ISSUE HERE IS: I was sold a defective stool and TOLD it was fixable. I bought it because i liked it a lot and I have family who knows how to fix things. I figured I could have my brother-in-law fix it. Right before I left the store..I told the lady behind the counter that if she was sure if that I twist the stool (it can be assembled) it'd be fine. I get home and forgot the stool in the car. I had my brother-in-law check out the cool stool & he immediately spotted a tear. When I left the store, i checked for any tearings that could reveal the wood underneath the paper. Since I didn't see any brown-dark spots, I assumed it was good. What I FAILED (I recognize this by the way) to notice was that part of the comic paper had an area that was all white. I assumed it was part of the comic-book theme, but my brother-in-law was the one who pointed out that it was a defect. I showed up to the store and a POLITE way, asked if I could refund or exchange something that would be $26 worth. The guy (I'm assuming the owner or manager) tried to take me for a fool. I asked where his return policy was at, and he refused to show me or tell me. He claimed it was on the reciept. That was wrong. So he quickly said "well I'll fix that. But any furniture you buy can't be returned because we don't know if you damaged it when you left the store." Then he started calling me a liar and a BRAT (his exact words) because I kept asking him to show me on the surveillance to prove that the stool was already wobbly BEFORE i walked out of the doors. First of all, why would they sell a defective stool? Two, his employee told me it was fixable so I told myself "why not, they seem trust-worthy." There is NO return policy ANYWHERE in that store except "Shoplifters will be prosecuted" signs. The owner was rude. Made me yell and raise my voice because he started getting DISRESPECTFUL AND PERSONAL. He brought up my MOTHER into the argument (his voice was raised) and called me a brat MANY times. I have my banker, mother-in-law and my lawyer as witnesses that HEARD THE VULGAR, DISRESPECTFUL things to me first. Very un- professional. By the end of my visit...as I sat on the curb so EVERYONE can keep an eye that I DO NOT DAMAGE BOUGHT "goods" and immediately called my bank. Since it is a thrift store, I was told there's not much my bank can do. I'm totally fine with it now. Keep my money you sorry, poor excuse of a business. I'll be positive about this experience. Lesson learned: never trust a smiling face. But that guy (Dan) or whatever the hell his name is was THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SOB I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. He had the nerve to bring my mother up twice and his employee brought up my children into the mix. Trying to tell me to be a better person because I have two children. Well MAYBE if you guys stop selling defective crap for ALMOST the same price you can get it off the internet brand-new...you wouldn't deal with an upset mother!!!! Oh...and keep in mind that when I mentioned that my brother-in-law was the one who inspected the stool,the "owner" insinuated that we're liars. My brother has served for our country overseas twice, and continues to serve for our country...he would have NO REASON OR NEED TO LIE OVER A STOOL. The guy just didn't have an answer for anything besides disrespecting and discrediting us. I came in trying my best to be polite, but if those camera's have audio..I could prove that he started the heated argument. This isn't worth to take to court...its a stool for Pete's sake. But I WILL AND DID take my time to write this complaint so I can help another trusting person, who's looking for a good bargain not find themselves ANYWHERE near this corner store. I love looking at the vintage stuff, but it is all very overpriced for resale in my opinion. I understand the value of collectibles, but they charge $1 each for pokemon cards that you have to sit and look through, that you know have already been stripped of anything of value anyway. They are the cards you already have 15 of in your deck that are worth like a nickel and are not worth $1 each at any level, especially if youre doing the labor to sort though them. The mystery boxes were pretty disappointing as well, $20 for a handful of loose trading cards and a figurine is not that cool in my opinion. I will return to look about and watch it grow, but I will just buy my cards elsewhere. They are even cheaper up the street at the other imaginarium (emporium), which made no sense to me. I have pulled $10 cards out of mystery packs there which I bought for $5, that feels more worth the money to me. read more

This store has pretty much anything you could possibly think of. Plus the owners are AWESOME!! A few trade-offs coming here compared to their Superstore, which is only about six blocks away. This place is fun and is a wonderful oasis for collectors (especially if you collect diecasts), but because of the location, prices, occasionally for the exact same items, are higher, there's more gift/kitsch merchandise taking up space, and there's way more effort put into presentation, at the expense of function. You are, however, paying for their curation, which has been done quite well - They have everything you could want, from Hot Wheels to Coca-Cola and cartoon memorabilia. It's also cleaner than the Superstore, but I don't really expect this type of shop to be spotless either way. You could spend hours in here easy and walk away with some fantastic items if you know what you are looking for and double-check questionable prices using eBay's mobile app or another resource. Usually, the deal is good, but don't expect any hidden treasures, because they know exactly what they have and how much it's worth. That's really not a bad thing. One upside to that is that I didn't see any counterfeits, and there's little junk. Expect current collector's market value for older items. If you're a collector, that's perfectly fine. If you're trying to make money as a reseller, go to Goodwill or a pawn shop, not here. Customer service was all right, neither overbearing nor especially warm. They seemed friendlier and more helpful at the other location I visited, but that said, they were also far more busy and seem to have a different clientele base. I don't blame them or fault them for that. Overall, I've been here a few times and always gotten something awesome, but it's never my only destination. Check the Superstore and possibly their Benson location out, see what they have, and draw your own conclusions based on what you collect and the kind of atmosphere you like. Also, a side tip: Park a few blocks away and walk here if you can (you might have to anyway). Don't park in Old Market unless it's off-peak hours, the area is pretty congested. read more
