She never operates on autopilot, every appointment begins with a full assessment from head to toe, she remembers persistent pain points and continues working on those but also recognizes that life happens between appointments; and that level of thoroughness has made a huge difference in my care. Dr. Oldenburg, has also helped me understand not only what was happening with my body physically, but also how my body holds onto stress and the effects that it was having. Enter.... Dr. Wilder for applied kinesiology. Working with Dr. Wilder has opened my eyes to a completely different side of healing. We've focused on supporting my thyroid, adrenals, kidneys, liver, bowels, and uterus, improving drainage and giving my body the support it needed to function better as a whole. Another thing I appreciate is their gentle adjustment style. Having spent years receiving forceful "snap crackle pop" chiropractic adjustments, I personally believe those techniques contributed to ligament laxity and made it harder for my body to hold an adjustment. The gentle "activator" approach has been a much better fit for me, and I've noticed a significant difference. And then there's Massage Therapy. Amber and Sandy are phenomenal. I've had massages in A LOT of different places and even countries over the years, and these two ladies absolutely stand out. Their understanding of kinesiology and the body means every massage has purpose. It's therapeutic, intentional, and focused on helping you heal, not just helping you relax for an hour. It's also worth mentioning that this practice extends far beyond chiropractic care. Whether it's mycotoxin (mold) testing and detox support, the Healthy Kids Collective for parents pursuing a more holistic approach to pediatric care, or even the supplements and wellness products they carry, everything feels thoughtfully chosen. I was dealing with blood blisters, a poor latch, doubts and fears about supply, and a baby that was temporarily not gaining enough weight. As a first-time mom, it was extremely stressful, and there were many tears. However, Juliana's visits always left me feeling more informed, reassured, and capable. We also did a weighted feed during every visit, which confirmed that my baby was indeed getting enough to eat. I still remember the relief I felt when I learned that. Juliana is a big reason why I decided to stay the course with breastfeeding. (Thank goodness, because now I LOVE it.) My insurance covered the cost of the visits, so I just paid the $60 travel fee. I also attended her breastfeeding class with my husband before giving birth. This was super helpful, but I recommend taking the class within 1 month of your due date. We took it a bit too early in my pregnancy, and forgot a couple things by the time I gave birth. Sheri was with me throughout my entire 33 hours of labor. She practically turned my labor room into a spa! I did the research and found the absolute BEST midwife I could have ever prayed for. From the very beginning of our journey Christina Sanders made us feel like family. She included everyone in all of the appts, let's just say my 3 year old, Stori, is now a midwife in training. Everything about her and the world of midwifery, let us know we made the perfect decision. It was a very special intimate experience. Though natural labor is excruciatingly painful, being in my own space with my husband and daughter Ahmyiah by my side, along with Christina and Kristen Rud (Midwife in training) it was so peaceful and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. There was less stress, less anxiety, no stupid intake questions that had been answered 100000x before, nobody making you feel incompetent, nobody barking orders.
