    Water birth

Working with Coley and birthing my son at home was the most incredible experience I've ever had and a memory I will never forget. This was my third time giving birth, but my first time having a midwife and delivering naturally outside of a hospital. I had no idea what to expect, but I felt taken care of every step of the way. The entire prenatal/postnatal process was a breeze and my appointments with Coley seemed more thorough than every past prenatal appointment with my obgyn. What's more, these appointments were always on time, never rushed and I actually looked forward to them. When "labor day" finally arrived, my husband and I were blown away by the level of treatment we received. We were lucky to have not only Coley, but birth assistant & doula Lee Ann there for support. Both ladies were on point and able to find things they needed without asking either of us. They even cleaned everything up and did a load of laundry afterwards. It was pretty neat being able to climb into my own bed after delivering and spend time with the new little guy without hospital staff coming in and out. I appreciated being able to witness all of his apgar testing too since I hadnt been able to see that with my other two. I never thought I would be brave enough to birth at home, but after knowing what I know now, I would choose the option every time. And even though I'm done having kids a small part of me wishes I was having more so I could work with Coley again!

Coley Douglas is an amazing midwife. From the moment I met her at our first appointment I knew I was in good hands. She is available day and night for silly pregnancy questions, she handles everyone with grace, patience and love... our birth was a healing one for me. I needed to see that I could birth a baby naturally without people telling me what to do. Coley and her assistant Le Anne did just that. Included in her services are follow up visits at your own home, and then a final one at her office after 6 weeks- I cried when I left the last time. You will be so lucky to have Coley as your midwife. I can not recommend her services highly enough.

I am a birth photographer who documented a birth with Coley Douglas as the midwife and she was amazing. The client had a beautiful DREAM home birth with all the siblings involved and it was truly beautiful to watch. She was so caring and great with the whole family, she is a great midwife and I strongly can recommend her.

We had the best home birth with Coley! She was wonderful the whole 9 months of my pregnancy and after postpartum care! Very sweet and knowledgeable, seriously pick her brain for tips and all baby stuff. Any problem I had during my pregnancy she offered a solution and all solutions worked. It was amazing! When I had my other 2 kids at hospital doctors never cared enough to give me solutions. But Coley takes her time with you and cares. I LOVE MY WHOLE experience with Coley! Thank you for your great attentive service.

Coley is an angel on the Earth! She has found her calling and does an incredible job as a midwife. She's professional, intelligent, trustworthy, level-headed, and simply a joy to be around. She became our midwife and was also the midwife foe two of my other friends who raved about her. As first time parents, my husband and I felt reassured and confident in our ability to have a home birth because of Coley's personalized care, expertise, and calm demeanor. I can't recommend this woman enough!

Wouldn't recommend this service to anyone! Our experience was very similar to Emily's experience…read more I'd say almost to the T with the exception of her assistant, Sally was great and is one of the reason my wife and son are alive today. My wife and I expressed concerns about her pelvis being too narrow but she brushed it off and we believed her. A mistake that nearly ended my new family. She would say that something was fine and then would say that the same thing was concerning. We chalked it up to her being a bit eccentric. On top of that, we only got reimbursed a little over $100 from insurance and we had Anthem PPO at the time. Not necessarily her fault but it added to the negative experience and expenses. My wife's labor ended up being 24hrs at home and 36hrs total which ended in a C-Section. She was little to no help and it was Sally that recommended we go to the hospital. Plug-in for Rancho Springs, amazing hospital and staff. It's not what we wanted but definitely what we needed and more. We didn't want a hospital birth but they have the best ward bar none. Only hospital me and my wife would go to for this. From our conversations with other people that used her in the past, I think she was once a great midwife but from our experience, I would highly discourage anyone from using her services. If you use her, you'll be playing roulette with you and your child's life.

Would not recommend Our son was born early September 2024…read moreand Anne was our midwife for the pregnancy. During our meetings we were constantly recommended to seek outside opinions from my OBGYN and medical facilities, causing us to spend thousands more during my pregnancy and birth on top of her fee for services ($6000). During my birth Anne and her assistants made the environment stressful when I expressed for my birth to be peaceful to my liking. Upon Anne's arrival she said that I was fully dilated at 6am. At 3pm Anne had checked me and told me that she had still felt some of my cervix (I WAS NOT FULLY DILATED). She had complained earlier in the day that her fingers were too short to check properly, so I'm not sure how she has been a midwife and her fingers be too short to check her clients. I was instructed to push while not being fully dilated. Anne appeared impatient and she didn't seem to know what to do to help me progress. After an hour and a half of pushing she recommended transfer to the hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital I was checked and was dilated to AN EIGHT. The hospital determined that my baby was too large to have naturally. During my pregnancy we brought up the size of my baby and Anne would discredit all the ultrasounds and weight estimates that we were given. I had my baby via c-section and was born at 11 pounds 1 ounce, he would never have been born safely naturally. After my hospital stay we returned home to a birth pool fully inflated and still containing the water from my labor, this was after I was told that everything would be cleaned up before our return. A warning to all, a contract is presented and must be signed that states once Anne shows up to your birth/labor there are NO REFUNDS of any sort. Ultimately I would not recommend Anne's services as a midwife. If you are looking for a midwife to trust as your expert and for a safe, comfortable birth, look elsewhere.

I did a little research and spoke to 3 midwives. However there is something special about Amanda and choosing her as my midwife was a no brainer. For one, she offered to have our first meeting at my house. Second, upon meeting her, she had such a calm demeanor and soothing voice that my worries and anxiety regarding a home birth went away. From then on my interactions with Amanda became more meaningful. I always brought my first son to all my appts and Amanda was so sweet at letting him play with her stethoscope. During these appointments she talks to your baby as she is checking baby's heartbeat. She looks at your health holistically, and even allowed to me to talk about stress and worries that I was experiencing at the time. I feel this was so important for my overall pregnancy health. The day I have birth I was already experiencing intermittent labor and my water was leaking out. Amanda came over and offered different options on how to get my labor to progress, and was so patient with me as I was able to dictate what I wanted to do and not do. She gave me the space to listen to my own body. She was incredibly patient and calm and guided my husband and I every step of the way. And let me remind you, her voice is so soft and soothing that when you are in the thick of labor contractions, she is all you will want to hear. Several hours later, my son was born and Amanda was by my side! Amanda is truly a caring person and it is evident that she loves what she does. Her energy is so warm and inviting. When my baby met her, he just melted into her, as if he knew her. This entire experience was nothing short of incredible for me, and I really have Amanda to thank for that. I encourage anyone looking for a midwife to consider Amanda.

Her passion for what she does shows, and she'll care for your baby like her own. This was my second birth, and when compared to the coldness and unfamiliarity of the hospital, I can't imagine giving birth any other way! I also want to mention that Amanda is prepared for hiccups. My baby got stuck in-between my legs, and Amanda was calm when helping baby and I get through it. She managed to untangle the cord, encourage me to continue pushing, and grab the resuscitator incase baby needed it. Amanda works calmly, swiftly, and effectively. Also, I'm convinced my baby already knew who she was! Baby could recognize her voice, and Amanda's loving energy because she was/is as calm in Amanda's arms as she is in mine. If we were to have another baby, we wouldn't hesitate to call her. She's worth every penny and much more. She is such a genuine person. Her support does not end the day baby is born, she continues to check in on the well-being of you and baby. I feel so fortunate to have had her as my midwife!
