My prayers were answered when I found Amanda. Finding a midwife who aligns with your beliefs and feels like family isn't an easy thing, but when I met Amanda I knew instantly that she was who I wanted to help bring my son into the world. Amanda provided care like no other- she was always there for all of my questions throughout my pregnancy, is extremely knowledgeable, and was the most amazing leader of my birth team. I had a very long labor at home (50 hours!) and she supported me unlike I could have ever imagined and gave me the courage to keep going when I didn't think I could go anymore. She has a true calling for what she does and she genuinely cares about her clients. My family is eternally grateful for her and I hope she is in our lives for years to come! If you are wanting to do a home birth you will not find better than Amanda.

Amanda is AMAZING! She was always there for me and my family whenever we needed her, even through our miscarriages and birth of our baby girl. Our home birth experience was awesome with Amanda, she made the environment perfect and gave me the confidence I needed in each moment of doubt. We love Amanda, we highly recommend her!

My wife and I are new parents, and when we first met with Amanda we were looking into a homebirth, but we weren't sure if we would be able to do it because it was our first time. Amanda was AWESOME. After our first meeting with Amanda, my wife knew that she wanted to work with her. She made us feel confident about my wife's ability to birth at home (and my ability to support her). She also pointed us in the direction of some helpful classes to get us more educated on the homebirth experience. Amanda gave us resources and information to help us make our decisions. She never forced anything onto us, never judged us for any choices particular to us as a couple, and made us feel truly cared for. As a husband, I would highly recommend Amanda to any couple that is considering a homebirth. She is knowledgeable and helpful, and she will make your wife feel supported and capable.

From the minute I left Amanda's office after our first meeting I knew she was the one that would help bring our third child into the world safely. I had two hospital births previously, but had always been curious about having a home birth. At the beginning of this pregnancy I was not receiving the care I deserved through Kaiser, so I began to look into all the midwifery services in my area. I found Amanda through a yelp search and set up an appointment to meet her. She was compassionate, friendly & welcoming. She took her time answering my questions and right away I knew there was something special about her. If you are looking for a midwife to guide you through your pregnancy & delivery in the most loving way possible than look no further. This entire experience has changed me as a person & I have Amanda to thank for that. This is truly her calling in life & I am so grateful that I got to experience bringing my son into the world with her by my side. I could not of gotten through my 5 hour labor of my posterior son without her. It was the hardest, most beautiful experience I've ever had & I will cherish it for the rest of my life. Now she just needs to convince my husband on baby number 4 so I can relive this again!

It is difficult to come up with the words to describe Amanda and the care she provides. Having her as our midwife was the best decision we made. Amanda is patient and calm. She allows you to make decisions about your care and gives you truly informed consent about every test or intervention. I felt so comfortable having my prenatal care in my own home with my husband at every single appointment. She made us both feel confident about our pregnancy. Amanda was always there to answer a question via text or call as needed. I was so happy to have her at the birth of our Son. Her calm confidence gave me the strength I needed when labor got tough. She always had the words to say to get me to focus on the goal. She encouraged my husband and gave him direction when he caught our baby. My favorite aspect of our birth experience with Amanda was how she allowed me to make the decisions. I was not forced or coerced into any intervention. She also did our baby's newborn exam in the comfort of our bed only when I was ready to let him come off my chest. She was patient and sweet to our baby as she checked him over as not to stress him out. Our postpartum check ups have been stress free as she comes to us. Amanda is so encouraging and helpful with us both as we navigate the first few weeks of life with our Boy. I could go on and on about how amazing she is. Thank you for giving us the birth I always hoped for, Amanda. Baby G, Blake, and I love you forever and ever.

My family and I LOVE Amanda. If you are considering having a home birth I highly recommend her. At 35 weeks pregnant the hospital regulations made my husband and I feel very uneasy about a hospital birth so we reevaluated our options, did our research and found Amanda. After our first consultation we immediately knew we wanted to continue with a home birth under her care. I felt cared for and never rushed during our appointments - she always took her time with us and made sure every one of my questions were answered. She even encouraged my mom, who was unsure about homebirth, to come for a visit so that she can answer any questions or concerns that my mom had. During the early stages of labor, Amanda was in constant contact with me and my husband. She gave me several exercises and positions to go through during the day and made sure I was moving, staying hydrated, and eating! During that final stage of labor she was so calm and gentle. She reassured me and encouraged me the whole time and brought so much peace during my labor. My labor was pretty smooth and uncomplicated. Amanda used the doppler thorughout the labor to monitor the baby, never once did I feel like my baby's life was at risk. I was able to give birth in the birthing tub and it was so nice to lay in there with him on my chest for a while once he was born. Amanda helped me into bed after birth and she and her assistant had everything cleaned up within 2 hours. There's nothing better than being able to recover in the comfort of your own home, it's seriously the best! I couldn't imagine giving birth any other way. Amanda came back to check on us the next day, one week after, and again at six weeks. From the moment I was under her care to the weeks after I gave birth, Amanda went above and beyond to make sure the baby and I were doing well. Amanda's genuine love and passion for moms and babies is so evident by the way she cared for us, and she will care for your baby like her own. I feel so blessed to have had Amanda as my Midwife and I'm excited to do it all again with her someday. If you're contemplating a home birth, look no further! Amanda is the best of the best.

I'm so grateful that my dream for a homebirth brought Amanda into our hearts. Her love for being a midwife was so apparent when she first came and met with me and my family. She is compassionate about everything she does and is so gentle with each check up. During my delivery Amanda was so calm and was able to find pressure points in order to make the contractions bearable. As I was pushing my little one out she got mild shoulder dystocia. Amanda knew exactly what had to be done and told me exactly what I needed to do in order to make sure my baby girl made a smooth entrance into the world. Once she arrived it was so quiet and peaceful. The way she handled her with such grace was a moment I won't forget. She respected my birth plan as a mom and what I wanted. This was my second baby but first unmedicated homebirth. Had it not been for Amanda educating me and reassuring me along the way I don't know if I could have done it. Even after delivery she checked up on us making sure baby is adapting smoothly in the world. I had some post delivery infections that didn't present itself until 8 days after birth. She came to my home and immediately was able to identify that there was an infection going on and to get medical attention in order to receive the proper antibiotics. Her knowledge and being able to tell me this without making it seem scary and making sure I stayed calm was beyond what I could have asked for. She made sure to message me to find out how I was feeling or of any updates even after my short hospital stay. All future babies of mine are going to to be graced by her presence.

I don't know even where to start. When I decided to research having a Homebirth I reached out to Amanda she came and spoke with my husband and I about what a home birth looked liked and the benefits. I have had three previous Hospital births but with Covid restrictions I was really hoping for a different experience. Amanda has an amazing knowledge about pregnancy and postpartum and was always so kind and helpful with all of my inquiries. She helped ease all the nerves that I had because of doing something different. BONUS! My husband felt at ease knowing that Amanda was in control which is huge. When it came down to the big day Amanda and her assistant were amazing calm peaceful presents took care of everything I couldn't of asked for a better delivery in the comfort of my own home. And Amanda gave me the tools to have the confidence to do so. I would Highly recommend reaching out to Amanda if you're considering a natural home birth experience

After 4 hospital births with various interventions, leading to long painful labors I knew there was a better alternative. My husband encouraged me to seek out a midwife and have a home birth with our next baby. Once I got pregnant I knew that's what we wanted to do. I found Amanda after several people had recommended her and after having our last baby with her I see why. The quality of care with her was like none other. She was kind, relatable, and really made us feel comfortable and knew we were safe in her care. There were a hand full of things I was specifically looking for and she met all those needs/wants. She provided us with all her medical knowledge to make the best decisions for us and our baby, and ultimately allowing us the medical freedom to make our own decisions with her support. Amanda also was also concerned with my diet, exercise and overall health and making sure I was getting the proper nutrients for a healthy pregnancy, which was a breath of fresh air as opposed to traditional OB care. She provided us with the best prenatal care leading up to a wonderful and successful home birth. We are so thankful for her as a midwife and that she was able to provide us with the most enjoyable pregnancy and birth experience. I can't sing her praises enough or the experience of having a home birth. I wish I would have done it with my other 4 babies.

Where do I begin with how amazing this woman is!? She had attended my first home birth while she was still in school and she was the most hands on (when I needed her to be) but then knew when to give me that space and let me labor the way I needed to. After that experience I knew I wanted her to deliver my next baby! Three years later & here we are! My care from the beginning to the end was more amazing than I could have ever asked for! My baby was almost 2 weeks late but Amanda's quiet confidence, encouragement and love helped me to know everything would be okay. I birthed a 10.5 pound baby at home in the water with no complications and it was the most amazing day ever! I couldn't recommend Amanda enough! She has a God-given gift and loves what she does to her core. She goes above and beyond in her care for her clients and my family and we will never forget her!

Today we had our 6 week check up for my baby boy, and I could cry thinking about this whole experience being over! Amanda is truly incredible, and the bond we created over the last 10 months is so special. Choosing her as our midwife was the best decision we could have made. Throughout my pregnancy she was just a dial away, which made me feel so content. She was always there to answer my questions and she has so much knowledge! Amanda has the biggest heart, and if you work with her you will feel that from the very first appointment. She's so gentle and kind, and that's exactly what I needed in labor. My birth was incredible, I labored with my arms wrapped around my husbands shoulders almost the entire time and Amanda was so good about sneaking in to monitor me without disrupting my labor space, AND she caught my baby over the toilet... talk about impressive, LOL. I would recommend Amanda to anyone going through a pregnancy and birth. You will NOT regret it one bit, I promise you. She is truly amazing and I'm forever grateful that she was apart of this incredible journey. Love you Amanda!

Wouldn't recommend this service to anyone! Our experience was very similar to Emily's experience…read more I'd say almost to the T with the exception of her assistant, Sally was great and is one of the reason my wife and son are alive today. My wife and I expressed concerns about her pelvis being too narrow but she brushed it off and we believed her. A mistake that nearly ended my new family. She would say that something was fine and then would say that the same thing was concerning. We chalked it up to her being a bit eccentric. On top of that, we only got reimbursed a little over $100 from insurance and we had Anthem PPO at the time. Not necessarily her fault but it added to the negative experience and expenses. My wife's labor ended up being 24hrs at home and 36hrs total which ended in a C-Section. She was little to no help and it was Sally that recommended we go to the hospital. Plug-in for Rancho Springs, amazing hospital and staff. It's not what we wanted but definitely what we needed and more. We didn't want a hospital birth but they have the best ward bar none. Only hospital me and my wife would go to for this. From our conversations with other people that used her in the past, I think she was once a great midwife but from our experience, I would highly discourage anyone from using her services. If you use her, you'll be playing roulette with you and your child's life.

During our meetings we were constantly recommended to seek outside opinions from my OBGYN and medical facilities, causing us to spend thousands more during my pregnancy and birth on top of her fee for services ($6000). During my birth Anne and her assistants made the environment stressful when I expressed for my birth to be peaceful to my liking. Upon Anne's arrival she said that I was fully dilated at 6am. At 3pm Anne had checked me and told me that she had still felt some of my cervix (I WAS NOT FULLY DILATED). She had complained earlier in the day that her fingers were too short to check properly, so I'm not sure how she has been a midwife and her fingers be too short to check her clients. I was instructed to push while not being fully dilated. Anne appeared impatient and she didn't seem to know what to do to help me progress. After an hour and a half of pushing she recommended transfer to the hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital I was checked and was dilated to AN EIGHT. The hospital determined that my baby was too large to have naturally. During my pregnancy we brought up the size of my baby and Anne would discredit all the ultrasounds and weight estimates that we were given. I had my baby via c-section and was born at 11 pounds 1 ounce, he would never have been born safely naturally. After my hospital stay we returned home to a birth pool fully inflated and still containing the water from my labor, this was after I was told that everything would be cleaned up before our return. A warning to all, a contract is presented and must be signed that states once Anne shows up to your birth/labor there are NO REFUNDS of any sort. Ultimately I would not recommend Anne's services as a midwife. If you are looking for a midwife to trust as your expert and for a safe, comfortable birth, look elsewhere.

From the moment we FaceTimed so I could ask initial questions, I knew we were a match. Getting along with someone who was going to care for me and my baby was so huge, and with Katie it was effortless. She not only cared for me, my growing baby, but my whole family as well. Encouraging them to be involved with my care, such as helping listening to baby's heartbeat, measuring my belly etc. She made sure to provide love and care to our whole big family. Through those months, she truly and effortlessly became my friend. I had some previous birth trauma, and not once did Katie allow me to carry that concern deeper into that pregnancy. She answered all of my questions, calmed all of my fears, and supported me in every single decision I made throughout everything. Her experience and knowledge left me with zero space to be worried and I felt so safe with her! She truly went above and beyond what I could have ever expected, and because of her, I was able to have my dream home birth. If God ever decides that there's going to be a baby number seven, I won't hesitate to hire Katie again. Katie Jones was our midwife for our last two births. I have 5 children born in 4 different…read morehospitals, including one born in a hospital during 2020. While all of our hospital experiences (with exception of the last one) went well, we were looking for more personable options, less "fuss" of procedures and interventions, more patient centered care over policy centered. In our search for a midwife Katie stood out to me as very competent, a desire to give her patients the information they needed to have truly informed consent and power in their decisions, as well as a desire to get to know the families she was serving so she could adapt best to their needs and preferences. Despite having 5 previous births I was never as educated as I was under Katie's care. She answers every question thoroughly and was never in a rush to move on to the next appointment. I also appreciated part of her background as an EMT, my impression is that she would have a cool head under pressure and would have a different perspective on what constitutes an emergency in a home birth setting. Safety is often a question when sorting through decisions surrounding birth. We never want to put ourselves or our children in unnecessary danger. Katie's thorough and clear communication helped us have confidence that we would be informed throughout any tentative emergency, there would likely be warning signs along the way, and our preferences in creating and carrying out an emergency plan would be considered. Our first birth with Katie for baby #6 went smoothly at home. We felt in comparison to our hospital experiences we had first class care. I had never seen a more thorough infant evaluation as what Katie and Tayna conducted. There is so much more opportunity to recover and enjoy the new life we just welcomed into the world in our own space. We would choose that experience over any of our hospital births hands down. The care for pregnancy #7 was even better. We were able to ask more questions and implement more supplements, herbs and exercise to help with both prenatal and postpartum. This birth was super fast, 45 min from when I woke up in labor until our baby was born. I didn't notify Katie that I thought it was time for her to come to us until my water broke in which I knew the baby would come quickly, especially as baby #7. She told us she was on her way. She was on speaker phone with us through the birth and all the way until she arrived. Although, we didn't expect to deliver our baby unassisted we were well prepared by Katie. Once she arrived she and Tayna provided excellent care to us and were reassuring that everything looked great. We are grateful for the experiences we had working with Katie in the birth of our 6th and 7th babies. If God leads us to have any more children we would work with Katie again in a heart beat. While there is always the potential for true emergencies that warrant the medical interventions of a hospital related to birth we feel confident that the quality and sincerity of care we have received decreases our risk for unnecessary medical interventions. We are much more trusting of care providers, whether it is a sincere and excellent midwife, a family doctor or other, that has an evident passion for not just helping a patient in a time of need but truly casting vision for a healthy lifestyle that puts the patient's interests and informed consent over any standard policy or gov't approved "recommendation." I reiterate, this was truly patient centered care over policy centered. Working with a midwife to have a home birth or birth at a birthing center may or may not seem like a fit for you. After our experiences I think it could probably be a fit for most that has a potential to bring much more refreshment and respect to a growing family.

During my pregnancy, I had the opportunity to meet Alicia, and I immediately felt a familiar, grounding ease from her presence. Throughout my labor and birth, Alicia was everything I needed--empathetic and tender, yet knowledgeable, sturdy, and clear. She went above and beyond to support me through the natural highs and inevitable lows that come with the birthing process. Her steady, attentive care made me feel safe, seen, and empowered during such an intimate and transformative time. Alicia's detailed and thoughtful approach continued into my postpartum home visits, where her attention to both me and my baby's well-being was truly unmatched. She held space for me with such care and compassion, offering exactly what I needed during those early weeks of recovery and adjustment. I feel incredibly fortunate to have received care from three incredible midwives - Johanna - Julie and Alicia- throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. Alicia holds a special place in our hearts for providing exactly the kind of support, care, and connection that made our experience unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend her for any conceiving, pregnancy, birthing, lactation or well person need.

I'd never had a home birth before though this wasn't my first baby. They took safety measures that made me feel comfortable during such a stressful time period being pregnant during a pandemic. Many times when I arrived for my appointment they were sanitizing and always wearing their masks. They even allowed me to do appointments by zoom and drive to the parking lot of their office to do vitals in my car! This allowed me to bring the kiddos while keeping contact and exposure to a minimum. They were always available if any concerns took place or I had questions. This not being my first baby, he came very quickly and because they had prepared us so well, I still was able to follow my birth plan. I felt completely supported with everything I wanted and enjoyed visiting with them every appointment.

And the one time I did go, the midwife I saw was amazing, but that was the only thing. They messed up with my bill and it was a huge ordeal, which I finally resolved but it wasn't easy. I would say, don't come here but you probably won't even get a chance to schedule an appointment

During my pregnancy, all the midwives made sure I was informed and prepared throughout the pregnancy and for the delivery. They give you all the information to make informed decisions regarding your body and your baby. Once labor started I was scared and difficult to handle but everyone was so encouraging/comforting. They supported me and encouraged me how I needed in those moments. During my birthing experience I had an unforeseen and unavoidable medical complication. Julie (the midwife who helped me deliver) handled the situation so well. I felt secure knowing she was by my side and advocating for me. I was so grateful she was with us though this experience. She really helped make our messy birthing experience as perfect as humanly possible. We aren't planning on having more children but if we do, I would choose BCM again. Thank you
