I just got home and my garage door completely failed in down position and is partially off a track as well. I'll add to this tomorrow after John gives me the verdict and hopefully solves my issue. Well issue solved. John came out and replaced door and opener. I had to be elsewhere all day but upon my arrival home, I found my new door fully installed as promised. What impressed me most was that my whole garage floor had been thoroughly swept and was left way cleaner than I left it. All components are of much higher quality than what I was replaced. I am very happy all the way around from first contact last night to the completed job. Plus John turned out to be a cool guy and I enjoyed chatting with him before I left for the day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A definite number to call if you ever have a garage door problem…read more My wife had called me a couple weeks back while I was at work to let me know that she was unable to close the garage door. So once she had stated that to me I rushed home to see what the problem was, because we do live in Chicago and recently we have been having been having some crime happing with people stealing stuff. I found that the cable had wrapped itself around the garage door rod. So I unhook the door and rewrapped the cable. About a week in a half, same problem. So I did the same thing all over again. Was good for about two weeks. Just the other day while pulling into my garage seen the door closing off balance. Decided to look for a garage repair guy that would come out and see what it is he thinks. Went onto google, and Garage Doctor popped up. So decided to give him a call. He came out the same day that I called him. He took a look at the door and fixed the problem immediately. As well for he really takes the time to explain to you where you understand. Wasn't pushy on trying to sell me anything. Just straight forward and honest. And the price was acceptable. So for my recommendation, I'd say give this guy a call. I'm happy. Oh yeah!, and he guarantees his work for six months. If the problem happens again you'll come out and fix it free of charge.

After all, it's not often that I run into issues with garage doors or garage door mechanisms at any of my residences. Service call (1) one: Lake County, Illinois 60030. The gentlemen who serviced my garage door "Dominick" was very insightful and efficient at determining why my garage door stopped opening and closing, and promptly repaired the garage door assembly unit in under an hour! The cost was reasonable, and even better, he told me he would honor a coupon that I could print on-line, even though I didn't know such a coupon even existed. I went inside and printed the coupon, and he accepted it just like that. Talk about honesty. Service call (2) two: Cook County, Illinois 60622. I requested Dominick, and was hoping this serviceman was available in the Chicago region. The operator put in a request, and sure enough, Dominick arrived on the same day I put in the service call. It's not like my garage door issue was an emergency or anything (it just jammed every once in a while when I tried to close it), but he arrived within a couple hours from when the call was made, simply replaced one of the sensors in the garage, and the mechanism was working smooth - like new in about (20) twenty minutes. Overall, I'd say even though I don't utilize garage door repair companies all that often - these guys were: pretty fast, reliable, and reasonably priced. For going in blind on selecting a garage door service company, I think I did pretty well ; )

Someone, who will remain nameless, neglected to put his/her vehicle in park and rolled into the garage door as it was coming down. I was livid! I neglected to mention that this all transpired after 10pm on a Sunday night! The gentleman who answered my call after a few rings explained the billing process; quite reasonable for emergency service! He arrived within minutes and diagnosed the problem and various solutions. Normally, I like someone being thorough, but I was still trying to contain my fury regarding an unnecessary expense. I wasn't receiving the details in the most welcoming manner, but he retained his professionalism. Kudos to Nelson's! In my defense, outflow of money + missing my bedtime = unhappy camper. Once nameless person left the area, I did apologize for being short with the service provider. He kindly let me off the hook, scheduled replacement for the automatic garage door system and drafted my receipt. The door opened and closed smoothly, just as I needed. The automatic system was due for a replacement anyway; it just happened sooner than I had anticipated. Experienced, professional and definitely reasonable!

He wasn't just my garage guy, he was my neighbor. We would wave to each other as his van would turn down the alley at the end of the day. I also used to see him in church every Sunday. I got to know owner Rudy Schoewe maybe a month or 2 after moving into my home. One Friday night around 7:30 PM, I had a gear fail inside the drive mechanism and the door jammed in the upright position. I could not get it to close or even budge. So I took a 1-minute walk to his storefront business, which doubled as his home on the 2nd floor. Though he was closed, the light was on and he was in his office doing some paperwork. I introduced myself and he offered to look at it right away. He came with a small box of tools and walked down the alley to check it out. Within minutes, my door was closed and he told me he would make me his first service call the next day. He and his son came back to fix it again when a spring broke once and the time my wife whacked the door track and misaligned it. When we moved to our Park Ridge home in 2005, the German-made, silent chain-driven Marantec unit we inherited failed due to cold weather. Luckily, Rudy was smart enough to recognize the problematic unit was headed for the dump. I got a top-of-the-line Raynor door opener with a 1-year warranty. About 3 months after his son installed it, he even called me out of the blue and asked how it's working! Now entering its 3rd year, the garage door opener remains trouble-free. And if it ever hiccups, I know who to call.
